Biodiversity conservation faces a methodological conundrum Biodiversity measurement often relies on species, most of which are rare at various scales, especially prone to extinction under global change, but also the most challenging to sample and model. Predicting the distribution change of rare species using conventional species distribution models is challenging because rare species are hardly captured by most survey systems. When enough data are available, predictions are usually spatially biased towards locations where the species is most likely to occur, violating the assumptions of many modelling frameworks. Workflows to predict and eventually map rare species distributions imply important trade-offs between data quantity, quality, representativeness and model complexity that need to be considered prior to survey and analysis. Our opinion is that study designs need to carefully integrate the different steps, from species sampling to modelling, in accordance with the different types of rarity and availablable data.We report here a strategy for making anionic pacs type porous materials by combining pore space partition with charge reallocation. The method uses the first negatively charged pore partition ligand (2,5,8-tri-(4-pyridyl)-1,3,4,6,7,9-hexaazaphenalene, H-tph) that simultaneously enables pore partition and charge reallocation. Over two dozen anionic pacs materials have been made to demonstrate their excellent chemical stability and a high degree of tunability. Notably, Ni3 -bdt-tph (bdt=1,4-benzeneditetrazolate) exhibits month-long water stability, while CoV-bdt-tph sets a new benchmark for C2 H2 storage capacity under ambient conditions for ionic MOFs. In addition to tunable in-framework modules, we show feasibility to tune the type and concentration of extra-framework counter cations and their influence on both stability and capability to separate industrial C3 H8 /C3 H6 and C6 H6 /C6 H12 mixtures.
To assess the accuracy of dynamic sentinel lymph node biopsy (DSNB) after negative ultrasonography (US) guided fine-needle aspiration (FNA) for inguinal lymph node (ILN) staging.

We performed a retrospective analysis of men with ≥T1G2 penile cancer and negative inguinal US-guided FNA undergoing DSNB. Men with suspicious US but negative FNA underwent US-guided ILN excision. Men with ≥T1G2 local recurrence during follow-up and non-squamous cell histologies were excluded. Descriptive analysis was performed, and sensitivity and negative predictive values (NPVs) were calculated.

We included 403 men with 728 groins with negative FNA undergoing DSNB ± US-guided LN excision. At least one sentinel LN (SN) was visualised in 93% during the first and in 7% during the second lymphoscintigraphy. The median SNs visualised preoperatively was 1 SN and a median of 2 LNs were resected. ILN metastases were detected in 9% groins in men with impalpable and in 17% men with palpable LNs. Stratified by impalpable and palpable ILN, non-local recurrence despite pathologically negative DSNBs was seen in 0.5% and 0%, respectively. Limited to men with ≥24 months follow-up, non-local recurrence after negative DSNBs was seen in 0.4% and 0%, respectively. The sensitivity of DSNB was 96% and the NPV was 100%. The main limitation of this analysis is its retrospective nature with inherit biases.

The aim to investigation this study was to identify the characteristic features of Asteraceae and Poaceae family member collected from lower Himalayas of Pakistan. Triapine order Light microscope and Scanning electron microscope were used for feature study of allergenic pollen. Our study includes 10 species of Asteraceae and Poaceae family. The most dominant shape of pollen was Oblate-spheroidal, Prolate-Spheroidal, Prolate and Suboblate shape of pollen. Quantitative character of pollen includes maximum pollen diameter found in Dichanthium annulatum (46.0 μm) and minimum polar axis pollen diameter found in Parthenium hysterophorous (16.0 μm). Similarly highest value of P/E ratio was noted in Cenchrus echinatus (1.05) and smallest value of P/E ratio was observed in Erigeron bonariensis (0.88). Poaceae family member were monoporate. Character feature of exine sculpturing include Microechinate, granulate, echinate, conical base, lacunae Nanogammate, Aerolate-Scabratre, Verrucate, like variation found in exine of both family member. Highest value of pollen fertility was observed in P. hysterophorous 93%, Similarly maximum value of pollen sterility was noted in E. bonariensis and Brachiaria reptans 24%. This investigation provides the characteristic feature of allergenic pollen species and help to arrange them in define class. RESEARCH HIGHLIGHTS Pollen has affected many people around the world. Using microscopic techniques, morpho-palynological analysis of Asteraceae and Poaceae families were recognized. LM and SEM study show both qualitative and quantitative character of pollen. Identification of allergenic pollen and microscopic identified character play important role for proper guideline of identification of pollen having allergenic potential.

Herein, the effects of discontinuation and retreatment of anti-CGRP mAbs in resistant chronic migraine patients are assessed, evaluating predictive factors of sustained response.

This was a monocentric prospective cohort study, enrolling 44 severe (resistant to ≥3 preventive treatments) chronic migraine patients (all with medication-overuse), treated with erenumab (54.5%) or galcanezumab (45.5%) for 12 months, who discontinued treatment for 3months and then restarted for 1month.

Overall, patients reported an increasing deteriorating trend during the 3months of discontinuation. Monthly migraine days, number of analgesics, days with at least one analgesic used, a ≥50% response rate (rHowever, one-quarter of patients who reported better quality of life indices before treatment showed a sustained benefit during discontinuation and did not need retreatment.The two most urgent and interlinked environmental challenges humanity faces are climate change and biodiversity loss. We are entering a pivotal decade for both the international biodiversity and climate change agendas with the sharpening of ambitious strategies and targets by the Convention on Biological Diversity and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Within their respective Conventions, the biodiversity and climate interlinked challenges have largely been addressed separately. There is evidence that conservation actions that halt, slow or reverse biodiversity loss can simultaneously slow anthropogenic mediated climate change significantly. This review highlights conservation actions which have the largest potential for mitigation of climate change. We note that conservation actions have mainly synergistic benefits and few antagonistic trade-offs with climate change mitigation. Specifically, we identify direct co-benefits in 14 out of the 21 action targets of the draft post-2020 global biodiversity framework of the Convention on Biological Diversity, notwithstanding the many indirect links that can also support both biodiversity conservation and climate change mitigation. These relationships are context and scale-dependent; therefore, we showcase examples of local biodiversity conservation actions that can be incentivized, guided and prioritized by global objectives and targets. The close interlinkages between biodiversity, climate change mitigation, other nature's contributions to people and good quality of life are seldom as integrated as they should be in management and policy. This review aims to re-emphasize the vital relationships between biodiversity conservation actions and climate change mitigation in a timely manner, in support to major Conferences of Parties that are about to negotiate strategic frameworks and international goals for the decades to come.

A systematic review of the literature explored healthcare staff (HCS) experiences in providing care for children and young persons with intellectual disability in hospital using thematic analysis.

Eleven of the 735 publications extracted identified the following themes distress, communication, partnerships, identification, training and education and optimising care. Consistent findings suggest that HCS feel unskilled in providing care for the child with intellectual disability in hospital settings. HCS recognised the role of parents as experts of their child but also feel unsettled when challenged by them. Skills in communicating with the child, developing partnerships with parents, having identification systems to plan for reasonable adjustments was key to improving care.

Depression can lead to a wide range of adverse health outcomes, including dementia. However, evidence supporting the relationship between depression and motoric cognitive risk syndrome (MCR), a pre-dementia syndrome, remains lacking. This study aimed to examine the association between depression and MCR among community-dwelling Chinese older adults.

Data were taken from the 2011 and 2015 waves of the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS). Depression was defined by a Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale (CES-D) score ≥10. MCR was defined as subjective cognitive complaints and objective slow gait speed. Multivariate logistic regression analyses were conducted to examine the cross-sectional and longitudinal associations between depression and MCR at baseline and a 4-year follow-up period for the sample population and gender groups.

The prevalence of MCR was higher in participants with depression than in those without depression at baseline (12.2% vs. 8.9%; p=0.001). Participants with depression at baseline had a higher 4-year incidence of MCR than those without depression (14.8% vs. 8.7%; p<0.001). Both cross-sectional analysis (odds ratio [OR]1.41, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.13-1.75) and prospective analysis (OR1.95, 95% CI 1.56-2.44) demonstrated that depression was significantly associated with MCR. These associations were consistent across different gender groups and stronger among female individuals.

Depression is an independent risk factor for MCR among community-dwelling Chinese older adults. Special attention should be paid to the care of older people with depression to reduce the occurrence of MCR and even dementia.
