MICRODOSIMETRIC MEASUREMENTS Of an TISSUE-EQUIVALENT Proportionate Counter-top According to a Gasoline ELECTRON MULTIPLIER DOWN TO 160 nm SIMULATED Internet site Measurements.
Conclusion This study will provide the evidence of whether acupuncture is an effective and safe intervention for coronavirus disease 2019 .PROSPERO registration number CRD42020179298.Background Structural and functional changes in subchondral bone have been recognized as a key factor in the development of related disease, and subchondral bone may be a new target for the treatment of osteoarthritis. The purpose of our present study is to investigate the global status and trends of subchondral bone research. Method Publications related to the studies of subchondral bone from 1993 to 2018 were retrieved from the Science Citation Index-Expanded Web of Science database. The data source was studied and indexed by using bibliometric methodology. For visualized study, bibliographic coupling analysis, co-authorship analysis, co-citation analysis, co-occurrence analysis and the analysis of publication trends in subchondral bone research were conducted by VOS viewer and GraphPadPrism 5 software. Results A total of 4780 publications were included. There is an increasing trend of the relative research interests and number of publications per year globally. selleck chemical The cumulative number of publications about slinical treatments for osteoarthritis and other related diseases based on subchondral bone.Cytokeratin 18 (CK18) and fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) are elevated in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and are useful markers for identifying or monitoring outcomes. Exercise therapy is one of the established treatments for NAFLD; however, few studies have investigated the effectiveness of exercise therapy on CK18 and FGF21 levels. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to assess the effects of 12 weeks of simple resistance exercise on CK18 and FGF21 levels in patients with NAFLD.Fifty patients with NAFLD were assigned to a resistance exercise group (n = 23) or a control group (n = 27) for a trial period of 12 weeks. During the study, the resistance exercise group performed two exercises (push-ups and squats) three times a week on nonconsecutive days, whereas the control group proceeded with regular physical activities under a restricted diet. We then compared serum levels of CK18 fragments (M65) and FGF21 between groups just before and after the 12-week period.Serum M65 levels (880.0 ± 503.6 vs 648.9 ± 450.2 U/L; P less then .01) were significantly decreased in the exercise group. However, no significant differences were observed in body mass index or skeletal muscle. The decreases in serum M65 (-231.1 ± 354.7 vs 56.2 ± 375.0 U/L; P = .02), and FGF21 levels (-41.7 ± 98.2 vs. 33.2 ± 127.6 pg/mL; P = .03) were significantly greater in the exercise than in the control group. Changes in M65 levels in the exercise group were significantly correlated with changes in alanine aminotransferase levels (r = 0.618, P less then .01).Simple resistance exercise reduced CK18 and FGF21 levels in patients with NAFLD. These findings suggest that resistance exercise consisting of push-ups and squats helps prevent the progression of NAFLD.Assessment the prevalence of hypertension and its relation to selected indicators of health status and performance, including classification of BMI, obesity classifications, and body structure in a large test group of 19-year-old men.The study was observational-retrospective, and included a group of 17,282 men, aged 19, from the Małopolska region. All subjects met the qualifications for compulsory military service in 2017. We analyzed selected data obtained from the records of the Ministry of National Defense-spiral-ZINT. Data collection and analysis were carried out from April 1, 2018 to August 31, 2018.Hypertension was found at 0.6%, weak body structure at 0.8% and obesityco-existing with cardiorespiratory insufficiency has been reported 2.6% of respondents and it was more frequent in the recruiters from HT II than I. The underweight concerned almost 7%, and the overweight and obesity of 1/4 of conscripts. The vast majority of people with hypertension were characterized by excessive body weight (74.8%), mainly overweight.Hypertension was seen in a negligible percentage of males studied and was significantly associated with an increase in BMI, particularly with regards to being overweight.Rationale Diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH) is characterized by ossification along the anterolateral aspect of at least 4 contiguous vertebral bodies. A fracture involving the fused vertebra in patients with DISH often leads to severe instability and spinal cord injury. Spinal metastasis (Mets) and DISH can coexist in elderly patients and increase their risk of pathologic vertebral fractures. However, there are few reports on concomitant spinal Mets and DISH. Patient concerns A 78-year-old man who complained of gradual onset of paraparesis, sensory loss below the umbilicus, and incontinence (case 1) and a 63-year-old woman who complained of severe back pain and urinary incontinence (case 2). Diagnosis Two patients were diagnosed with spinal Mets and DISH. Interventions Decompression surgery was performed at the metastatic sites in case 1 whereas instrumentation surgery was performed in case 2 despite the fracture having a benign appearance with no associated neurologic symptoms. Outcomes A vertebral fracture developed at the metastatic vertebra after decompression surgery in case 1. Severe instability of the surgical site in this case resulted in persistent paralysis even after subsequent revision surgery with instrumentation. In contrast, the clinical course was benign without any neurologic dysfunction at the 2-year follow-up in case 2. Lessons Instrumentation surgery should be performed in patients with DISH who develop spinal Mets even if there is no apparent instability.Rationale Autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) is not routinely recommended as first-line choice for follicular lymphoma (FL). However, we actually have observed that young patients with extremely high-risk factors benefit from ASCT. This study aims to speculate the rationality of ASCT as first-line treatment, through 3 cases and review of the literature. Patient concerns 3 young-adult patients with FL received ASCT as first-line treatment. Diagnosis All the 3 patients were no more than 30 years old and the diagnosis of FL was confirmed by histopathological and immunohistochemical evaluations. link2 They all had multi-organ involvements, and two of them presented with a "leukemic-like" manifestation. Compared with those in the previous literatures, the 3 patients were relatively younger and had more invasive clinical features. Interventions The 3 patients received combined chemotherapy plus rituximab, followed by first-line ASCT. Outcomes All the 3 patients got complete remission and minimal residual disease negativity after ASCT, The median follow-up time was 109 (97-117) months, and all of them were in remission more than 8 years after transplant. Lessons Guidelines for FL are mainly based on elderly patients, but are not suitable enough for all, especially for the young FL patients. For young patients with certain high-risk FL, first-line ASCT does not go against the guidelines, and should be recommended individually.Rationale Thyroglossal duct cyst (TGDC), the most common midline neck mass, has several histological diagnoses other than cyst in the literature. We present the first case of thyroglossal duct lipoma. Patient concerns A 63-year-old woman presented with a painless soft midline neck mass for more than 3 years, which enlarged in size and caused a lump sensation during swallowing. Diagnoses Sonography revealed a 3.5 × 3.0 × 3.0-cm homogenous isoechoic oval lesion without an acoustic shadow beyond the thyroid glands. An ultrasound-guided biopsy revealed abundant sheets of fat cells with infiltration of some lymphocytes and histiocytes. Computed tomography revealed a 3.5 × 3.0 × 3.0-cm well-circumscribed ovoid mass with Hounsfield unit (HU) between -50 and -100 and a thyroglossal duct remnant. All these findings supported the diagnosis of thyroglossal duct lipoma. Interventions The patient underwent Sistrunk operation for excision of the neck tumor, and pathological examination revealed an adipose tumor surrounded by benign thyroid tissue, confirming the diagnosis of thyroglossal duct lipoma. Outcomes Neither postoperative complication nor recurrence was noted at the 18-month follow-up. Lessons This is the first case of thyroglossal duct lipoma in the literature. Our study extends the disease spectrum of thyroglossal duct mass and suggests that clinicians should consider thyroglossal duct lipoma in the differential diagnosis of a midline neck mass.Introduction Acquired reactive perforating collagenosis (ARPC) is a rare skin disorder, which is associated with various internal diseases and even malignant neoplasms. A comprehensive knowledge of the concomitant diseases in ARPC patients is helpful to decrease the misdiagnosis. Although the treatment of ARPC is challenging, systemic assessment of existing regimens is not available. Patient concerns A 50-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital due to cutaneous pruritus and papules all over the body. Diagnosis Physical examination showed various sized papules on the lower limbs, buttocks, back, chest, and upper arms with keratotic plugs in the center. Histopathology showed typical collagenous fiber perforation. The diagnosis of ARPC was made according to histopathology, onset age and typical skin lesions. Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), chronic renal failure (CRF), and hypothyroidism simultaneously presented in this patient. Interventions This patient was initially treated with topical corticosteroids and oral antihistamines for the skin lesion and pruritus. Medications for glucose control and recovery of renal and thyroid functions were also applied. On the second admission, the combined therapy of topical retinoic acid, Chinese medicinal herb-Qingpeng ointment, and Zinc oxide ointment was added. Outcomes Papules and pruritus were improved significantly after the second hospitalization. Conclusion We present a case of ARPC associated with T2DM, CRF, and hypothyroidism, which has rarely been described. There is no standardized treatment for ARPC. Co-administration of two or more agents for dermatologic interventions and treatment for associated diseases may help to improve skin symptoms.Use of polyacrylate-polyalcohol copolymer (PPC) after endoscopic correction (EC) of vesico-ureteral reflux (VUR) is highly effective but is associated with a higher risk of obstructive complications (OC) compared with other implants. We undertook a STROBE compliant retrospective investigation and studied the OC risk factors to increase the practical safety of PPC.Overall, 798 patients (464 [58.1%] girls and 334 [41.9%]) boys) from 5 hospitals in whom PPC was routinely used were evaluated retrospectively. The patients were subdivided into 2 groups. Group I consisted of 754 (94.5%) children (449 [59.5%] girls and 305 [40.5%] boys) without OC. Median age was 41 months [Q1 18.0; Q3 81.0]. Group II comprised 44 (5.5%) patients (29 [65.9%] boys and 15 [34.1%] girls) experiencing OC, and their median age was 21.5 months [Q1 12.0; Q3 43.0]. Clinical and renal ultrasound examinations were carried out 1 day and 1 month after EC, and then every 6 months after EC. link3 At the follow-up examination approximately 6 months after EC, voiding cysto-urethrography (VCUG) was performed.
