Item Upgrader The Process Isn't As Hard As You Think

The War Within introduced Valorstones, and Harbinger Crests as two currencies to upgrade gear. They can be traded at the item upgrade rs NPCs Cuzolth and Vaskarn.

Each item can be upgraded to its maximum level for a given slot once. After that upgrades to the slot will be cheaper. The pity system, which was introduced in The War Within, also reduces the extreme variance of upgrades.

Upgrades

Upgrades are elements that boost performance or add new functionality. They can be purchased or earned through many ways, including through in-game events and cash shop items.

Unlike enchantments, which can be added to any item, upgrades are attached to specific items and are only applied to those items. Therefore, an upgrade can only be applied to a weapon unless it already has the equipment of the player. However, some items can be upgraded several times, bringing better benefit to the user of the item.

The mechanic of upgrades is relatively new. It was introduced in patch 4.1.0. The upgrade system allows players to add additional enhancements to their equipment to increase it's strength. This can range from basic strength boosts to massive damage and defense increases. The upgrades are split into tracks, and each has a limit on the amount of upgrade that can be done. Weapons typically require more crests and Valorstones to upgrade than gloves or bracers, for example. There are however some cash shop items that can help lower the cost of upgrading.

The item will be awarded a tier bonus, which will guarantee that it will get an amount of stats in the near future. This is the main reason why it's crucial to upgrade your gear as much as you can, as once you reach the point that upgrades won't make a significant difference, it's not worth it.
