Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment using new accessories. They can also boost its stats base or add additional benefits. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory, as well as access to the kiln.
Typically, items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base while items with strong bases like eth titans aren't affected much in their stats after being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components are items that can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, trinkets and gathering tools, giving an added bonus or effect when the equipment is used. They can be bought from vendors, or found as loot by enemies, or received from missions and chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before you can upgrade.
To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player must select it and click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade stats and the necessary component or materials.
There are three kinds: universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which comprise gems, can be placed in any type of equipment and offer less bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are only placed in ascended gear and legendary equipment are exactly the same as gems, but offer higher bonuses and are not able to be placed in any other type of equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix at the end of the item's name. For example adding a Glyph could transform the staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the case of upgrades for gathering tools when a player swaps one glyph by another the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace another upgrade component the item will be destroyed, except for inscriptions, which can be freely swapped.
Leveling
The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important changes from previous versions. Gear is now broken down into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a set number of times before they're "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, however the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a few key items and maximize their impact rather than spreading out the upgrade costs across several items.
This will enable the item to receive upgraded components, and have a greater chance of success. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Power and it will reset to zero after failure or increases if the upgrade is successful.
Once a piece is upgraded to its maximum level, it is able to get affixes to boost its attributes. The number of affixes available will depend on the item's base type. For item upgrading , a rare or unique weapon that has a standard base will have only two affixes to choose from, while legendary armors can have up to eight affixes available for it.
Each upgrade will require a specific amount of Flightstones or Crests, based on the type of item at its current level and in what slot it is placed in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item does not reach its maximum level, the NPC offers the player the option to transfer it to a different character and then re-infuse it with a different set or upgrades. The process can take as long as two hours and will cost the same amount of material however it will result in a lower chance of success.
Engineers will utilize a level to measure the height of the building to a known location, such as an existing benchmark. This process is called a "level loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that structures are built to an extremely high level of accuracy and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of altering an item's upgrade components. It is a vital aspect of the game and can significantly increase the strength of an item and damage as well as other attributes. You can do this through the menu for items or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an item. Rerolling items can be costly and should be used sparingly.
Reroll tokens are derived by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items come with an indicator that indicates the degree of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and cost of upgrading of the item.
In the past, certain upgrade item s had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than others. This meant that you would receive the stats that mattered most to your build more often than other items. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns and the control impaired duration stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.
This has changed since the most recent patch. Priority affixes have been removed and all upgrades will have the same odds of rolling for all stats. This can be good or bad, depending on what you want and need from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can be equipped with a special fixed-value bonus that boosts its power by a certain percentage. These bonuses are offered into the usual affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the higher chances of obtaining an exclusive bonus.
The game also comes with number sets that give the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on an item. This is an excellent method to add a lot of power to a specific character without spending an excessive amount of money.
Many players choose to reroll their equipment and weapons, especially in the beginning of the game. This is because rerolling could provide a much faster route to becoming a strong character which allows them to achieve higher levels and advance in the game faster.
Sets
Sets are collections of elements that can be organized in a variety of ways. They can be of various sizes, contain no elements at all, or contain a single element. They can be used for organizing data or sorting information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be categorized in several ways, including by size and shape.
There are a range of set items to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some are worth upgrading, others aren't. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets that offer high defense value and set bonuses. However, upgrades to weapons typically don't improve the item's stats much compared to their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you already have many armor pieces or weapons.
Set items can be upgraded to include specific functions that are beneficial for certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).
Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them up to the same level with their tiers. For item upgrader has a large level range, from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower-level items of the set can boost their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item and the required items to upgrade it. The attributes of the item will be displayed, along with any required items. For instance, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials as well as 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the upgrade requirements for specific items.
In general the jewelry and weapons have greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Especially for weapons that have spell/weapon damage glyphs upgrading them to gold is recommended because it will result in a significant improvement in their stats. This will also boost the defense of armor with a newer appearance.
