What Is Item Upgrading' History? History Of Item Upgrading
World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

The upgrade option lets players boost the gear rating of an item up 700 points, and then give it a bonus. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory before heading to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading because of their distinctive stats. (For example, a perfectly rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons don't really change after an upgrade and aren't worth the effort.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can boost their numerical stats, like attack damage, crit chance and PvE/PvP damage. They also have a flat bonus which increases their damage per second. In addition some weapons come with a set bonus which is activated when three or more of the same weapon are present on a unit. This bonus could exceed the damage a weapon upgrade alone can do.

The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity and level. For example an item with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue to rise until it requires a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.

Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. While this is generally an excellent thing however, it could have negative effects as well. For items that only see use in a particular build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance), upgrading them may make them unusable unless you have an extremely lucky roll.

Armor items can also be upgraded to boost their effectiveness. For example, if you upgrade chests or helms it will boost the defense of its base, while gloves and belts enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor has a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it is able to reroll down to a lower value.

The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats it will gain upon upgrading and their relative values. This means that the weapon will gain 33% attack damage when it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will be hit for 3 fewer times as it is an absolute statistic.

A weapon can also be rerolled by pressing the green button that has arrows that circle in the item menu. This will roll an item and change its statistics, but not reset the weapon's levels, or connect it to an account's status.

Armor

Adding a few upgrades to your armor can make a huge differences in your ability to survive. Certain sets offer massive improvements in the resistance to curses, poisons, fire, and magic. This can make it easier to traverse difficult areas. In general, the greater defense your character has the more value you will get from every point of health you have therefore it is important to upgrade your armor as much as possible.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains available in the game and in order to unlock each one you have to complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. Once you've done the main side quest and completed the fountain in question, you can then speak to any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels and the amount of material and Rupees required for each will vary. You'll need anywhere between three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade the next one. For instance the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep pace with a decent-sized group of adversaries in most cold environments and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded all the way to +20 defense, giving you enough protection to survive an entire raid with a handful of friends.

Be aware that armor can't be upgraded in the same way as weapons, so you'll want to work on upgrading it for physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power if you're a Mage. It's also worthwhile to save your armor upgrades to use for armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you wear for the final boss battle, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

You can also gain advantages to your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. Generally speaking, you'll want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be useful to have a few upgrades to your chest armor and helmets that let you stealthy battle some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that, when consumed by the player, give a temporary effect. There are five kinds of potions, each having particular effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to enhance their effectiveness. Additionally the effects of certain potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust them.

Potion upgrades require a certain amount of XP. This can be earned by crafting them on a table or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The cost of upgrading varies based on the type of potion and the item's rarity as well as Mark Level.

To upgrade a potion simply right-click on it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI which allows you to choose the potion that you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they will give you when upgraded. The upgrade of potions can be completed in batches of up to five at a time, and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP count.

Once a potion has been upgraded, it will not be degraded until you re-use it, or break the bottle it's stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change its name.

There were a few changes to potion mechanics in version 1.7.2. For example the splash potions now have a duration of 0.08 seconds (this is not the equivalent of 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item). The potion table is now made of four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It is now able to be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. In item upgrading to the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions are not able to be used in cauldrons. Similarly, using a potion on a full cauldron, it drains the potion and replenishes the bottle.

In addition, there are simmering potions made using splash and dragon breath potions. Similarly, a lingering potions effect can be extended by adding redstone to it. The potion table is now organized more closely to the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as potion of leaping, decomposition potion, as well as turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket is a tiny and cheap ornament or piece of jewelry. It could also be an ornament or object that serves a function but isn't important as a Thimble. In some cultures a trinket can be used to show affection or friendship between family members.

Players can upgrade trinkets as well as weapons, armor, and potions. They can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Unlike other item upgrades trinkets are able to be traded out at any time without losing their stats.

Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of every zone and in some cases in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are bought with tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.

Upgrading a trinket is an economical alternative to buying new ones. It can be done by players for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket will come with the same base ilvl as older one, and have an additional 1% upgrade bonus.

Trinkets can be re-upgraded once they're not needed and allows players to boost their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players which makes them an extremely popular alternative to gold.

In general players should upgrade their most important items first. This means that the top-in slot items for each class are upgraded first, followed by their secondary gear, and then other pieces of equipment that will not replace anytime soon (such as rings or cloaks). When deciding on the items to upgrade, players must also take into account the preferred statistics of their class. For instance If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers it is recommended that they upgrade their chest, helm shoulders, belt, and helm.

After they've become unusable trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket comes with an additional 1% bonus. Re-upgrading can cause damage to the trinket unless it can be salvaged using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades but still cheaper than buying new ones.
