World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses like damage from PvE and crit chance.
For example an item with the upgrade template that ends in % will suffer 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the item's current level. The cost increases as the item's level rises.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be put into armor, weapons and trinkets to give an additional stat boost or effect when they're used. These can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be used on equipment with a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before the component can be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they can't be used multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are type of upgrade component used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or Ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it is applied to (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions of the item using the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they require to reach the same level with normal methods.
A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defence characteristics of the weapon or armor. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. They can also be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or buying them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals per.
Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of an item will be available at the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their gear, even when they're not sure how much it will be improved following an update.
The process of upgrading an item could be costly, and it is possible that the item will become obsolete, or even break, when the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items to increase or even eliminate the possibility of failure, as well as a few upgrades that give a bonus when reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes within their radius, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as possible up to 15 levels.
In the endgame, you will often find that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded to level 15 and provide a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.
Glyphs, the sole upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced again are the most commonly used. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph with the same rank or a higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the glyph.
There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of the Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use as well as through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that will boost a particular set of stat nodes that are within a radius of the Glyph. It can be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.
Glyphs will boost all nodes that are connected to them, therefore it is best to put Glyphs in the most important spots on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For instance that a Druid should try to position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes, but you should also think about placing them near crucial damage nodes as well.
Leveling
The item upgrade system allows players to increase the stats of specific items by introducing upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be upgraded until they reach a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each item level requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields some Technology Points. These points can be used to level the item, and once enough are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When an item is upgraded by a player, the base item is replaced with a different item of the same kind. The same armor will be upgraded to the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also comes with its own bonus. This can be a disadvantage because it can make the item more expensive if you do not require it.
Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled, if the player has enough reroll tokens in order to do so. item upgrades causes the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will come with the level 1 base, and a different set of extra bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, but it's not something that should be done regularly, as it can use up many resources.
Certain upgrades can boost their value, allowing players to customize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants an increase in power if the player is repeatedly in or exits water. The item can be upgraded multiple times, increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is extremely valuable in PvP, as a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50x its non-upp'd value.
Requirements
The item upgrader allows players to raise the level of their equipment (armor weapons, armor, and trinkets) above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces improve the strength of their base defense and upgrades to weapon items increase their base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity.
All items are upgradeable up to five times, except for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade a piece of equipment, it has a chance of failing. The failure rate increases as you move beyond the maximum number. Failures will cause the item to revert to its original state, requiring the player to spend more materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.
If an item is not upgraded the experience bar on the bar for growth will be reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it has gained like crit chance damage to attack, other effects (such as an increase in healing over time, or the speed of reloading). However, the player may continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.
Whenever an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon gains a crit chance increase that it will be applied prior to any damage from attacks increases. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the item definition and the value is computed every time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is dependent on its rarity score and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to its base value. For instance an item of common use could have five upgrades for a price of. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero quality items will have an incredibly lower cost for each upgrade.
Premium items have different upgrade requirements than standard gear--for instance, they may require fewer sowels but more minerals and erons. Regardless, the player will have to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each upgrade requires a different amount of the upgrade ingredients.
