The novel biochar supported by starch and nanoscale iron sulfide (SFeS@Biochar) composites were successfully prepared through coupling of biochar derived from peanut shell with nanoscale ferrous sulfide and starch under nitrogen atmosphere. It had the advantages of biochar, starch, and nanoscale ferrous sulfide. Therefore, it could overcome some shortcomings. The nanoscale ferrous sulfide particles and starch were thought to be loaded successfully on the surface of the biochar by SEM, EDS, BET, XRD, FT-IR, and XPS techniques. High uptake capacity of U(VI) by SFeS@Biochar could be attributed to reactive reaction of FeS nanoparticles and adsorptive of a lot of functional groups. The proposed reaction mechanisms of the U(VI) uptake by SFeS@Biochar were electrostatic attraction, surface complexation, precipitation, and reductive reaction. It also might be an improved environmentally friendly material for U(VI) removal.Perennial increase in atmospheric pollution over the Bay of Bengal (BoB) and South China Sea is reported due to increase in human population and industrial activity in South and Southeast Asia. Based on total aerosol optical depth (AOD) derived from MODIS (moderate resolution imaging resolution imaging spectroradiometer), natural and anthropogenic fractions were derived. The seasonality and spatial variability in rate of increase in total, natural, and anthropogenic AOD fractions were examined over the BoB using data collected between 2001 and 2019. Both total and anthropogenic AOD displayed statistically significant rate of increase in the northwest BoB (NWB) and western coastal BoB (WCB) regions during 2001 to 2019 whereas the long-term changes are insignificant in the other regions of BoB. Significant increase in AOD in the NWB and WCB regions is mainly contributed by dominant outflow of anthropogenic emissions from Indo-Gangetic Plain (IGP) area of Indian subcontinent. The magnitude of AOD decreased by haed as entire BoB. The impact of atmospheric deposition of anthropogenic aerosols on biogeochemical processes, such as primary production and ocean acidification, needs further evaluation. The heavy metals namely Fe, As, Cu, Cd, and Pb were investigated in two marine fishes silver pomfret (Pampus argentus) and torpedo scad (Megalaspis cordyla), and three seafoods sibogae squid (Loligo sibogae), Indian white prawn (Fenneropenaeus indicus), and mud crab (Scylla serrata) by using inductively coupled plasma spectrophotometer (ICP-MS) from two renowned fish harvesting coastal area of Malaysia named as Kedah and Selangor. Among the target heavy metals, highest mean concentration of As and Fe were found in Scylla serrata (72.14±7.77 μg/g) in Kedah and Megalaspis cordyla (149.40±2.15 μg/g) in Selangor. Pearson's correlation results showed As-Fe-Cd-Cu originated from the same source. Maximum estimated daily intake (EDI) values of Scylla serrata were found 175.25 μg/g/day and 100.81 μg/g/day for child in both Kedah and Selangor areas respectively. Hazard quotient (HQ) and hazard index (HI) results revealed that local consumers of Kedah and Selangor will face high chronic risk if they consume Scylla serrata, Fenneropenaeus indicus, and Megalaspis cordyla on regular basis in their diet. Carcinogenic risk results suggested that all the studied species pose very high risk of cancer occurrences to the consumers in both areas. Therefore, it could be recommended that consumers should be aware when they are consuming these marine species since they can pose serious health risk associated with prolonged consumption.Lead exposure as a toxic material especially in children can be recognized as a harmful factor for cognitive function system. This meta-analysis was conducted to estimate the lead exposure effect on cognitive function among 6979 children less than 12 years. The 16 studies were divided into two clusters according to "duration of exposure" and "dose" using k-means partitioning clustering algorithm. Then, subgroup analysis has been performed based on the clustered studies. According to the results of the k-means clustering, dose and duration of exposure were significant factors between all considered variables. A stronger negative significant pooled correlation was observed in higher dose and duration cluster in comparison with another cluster including lower dose and duration (r = - 0.29, P-value less then 0.001 vs. r = - 0.08, P-value less then 0.001). Overall, a negative significant correlation was observed between lead exposure and cognitive function test score (r = - 0.22, P-value less then 0.001). This study confirms the negative effect of lead on cognitive function in children, but needed further investigations to achieve the safe dose and duration of the lead exposure. The water environment plays an essential role in the mangrove wetland ecosystem. Predicting water quality will help us better protect water resources from pollution, allowing the mangrove ecosystem to perform its normal ecological role. New approaches to solve such nonlinear problems need further research since the complexity of water quality data and they are easily affected by the noise. In this paper, we propose a water quality prediction model named CNN-LSTM with Attention (CLA) to predict the water quality variables. We conduct a case study on the water quality dataset of Beilun Estuary to predict pH and NH3-N. Linear interpolation and wavelet techniques are used for missing data filling and data denoising, respectively. Galunisertib concentration The hybrid model CNN-LSTM is highly capable of resolving nonlinear time series prediction problems, and the attention mechanism captures longer time dependence. The experimental results show that our model outperforms other ones, and can predict with different time lags in a stable manner.Phthalates, plasticizing chemicals, are top-rated environmental contaminants. Diethyl phthalate (DEP), a chief member of this family, was declared a potent endocrine disruptor and carcinogen in animals and humans. The current study was designed to explore the probable reproductive damage induced by DEP and the therapeutic efficacy of raw honey in male albino mice. Four-week-old 50 male mice were randomized equally in five groups, as control (C) received 0.1 ml distilled water; vehicle control (VC) received corn oil (0.1 ml/mouse); DEP (3mg/g/BW) dissolved in corn oil; honey control (HC) administered with honey (0.2 mg/g/day); and phthalate plus honey (P+H) administered with DEP and honey (3mg and 0.2 mg/g/BW/day respectively). Mice were treated through oral gavage for 54 days routinely, acclimatized for 6 days, and dissected. In the first instance, the antioxidant potential and total phenolic contents (TPC) of honey were analyzed through ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) assay and Folin-Ciocalteu assay to confirm the antioxidant capacity of honey.
