To investigate time trends in the use of RP by tumor risk and Prostate Cancer Comorbidity Index (PCCI) score in a contemporary, nationally representative Veterans Affairs (VA) cohort.
This cohort study of 5736 men treated with RP at 8 VA hospitals from January 1, 2000, to December 31, 2017, used a nationally representative, multicenter sample from the VA SEARCH (Shared Equal Access Regional Cancer Hospital) database. Statistical analysis was performed from June 30, 2018, to August 20, 2020.
Stratified linear and log-linear Poisson regressions were used to estimate time trends in the proportion of men treated with RP across American Urological Association tumor risk and PCCI (a validated predictor of LE based on age and comorbidities) subgroups.

To compare the effects of a culturally contextualized smartphone-based intervention with usual care on weight and metabolic outcomes.
This randomized clinical trial conducted at multiple primary care centers in Singapore included 305 adults with type 2 diabetes and body mass index (BMI) of 23 or greater who had literacy in English and smartphone access. Participants were recruited between October 3, 2017, and September 9, 2019, and were randomly assigned (11; stratified by gender, age, and BMI) to intervention (99 participants) or control (105 participants) groups. Participants' data were analyzed using intention-to-treat analysis.

The intervention led to a greater HbA1c reduction among participants with HbA1c levels of 8% or higher (mean [SD] change, -1.8% [1.4] vs -1.0% [1.4]; P = .001). Increased use of benzodiazepines has resulted in increasing rates of misuse and adverse effects associated with these drugs. Little is known about the initial exposure and source of benzodiazepines among those who use them persistently.
To examine the frequency of use and persistent use of benzodiazepines among patients undergoing major and minor surgical procedures.
This cohort study included 2 509 599 adult patients who underwent 1 of 11 common surgical procedures in the United States from 2009 to 2017 and were recorded in the MarketScan database. The rates of perioperative and persistent benzodiazepine use were examined in benzodiazepine-naive patients. Data analysis was conducted from July to November 2020.

This cross-sectional study took place at 13 health departments and 1 Indian Health Service Unit in 11 states and 1 tribal nation. Participants included all individuals with laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 and their named contacts. Local COVID-19 surveillance data were used to determine the numbers of persons reported to have laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 who were interviewed and named contacts between June and October 2020.
For contacts, the numbers who were identified, notified of their exposure, and agreed to monitoring were calculated. The median time from index case specimen collection to contact notification was calculated, as were numbers of named contacts subsequently notified of their exposure and monitored.
