The study aimed to explore the active composition and mechanism of the Chaiqin Qingning capsule (CQQN) against pharyngitis based on the network pharmacology and through using a pharyngitis rat model.
The active ingredients and targets of CQQN were queried using the TCMSP database. Disease-related target genes were queried in the DrugBank, GeneCards, OMIM, and DisGeNEt databases using "pharyngitis" as the search term. The STRING database was used to establish a protein-protein interaction (PPI) network. GO function enrichment and KEGG pathway enrichment analyses were performed to identify active components and key targets. Cytoscape software (version 3.7.2) was used to construct an active component/target gene/enrichment pathway network. AutoDock software was used to select the best binding target for molecular docking. The effect of CQQN was verified in the pharyngitis rats.
Network pharmacology showed 30 active compounds in CQQN with 240 targets, including 54 for the treatment of pharyngitis. Potentialting the TNF and IL-17 signaling pathways. The study makes a positive exploration and provides a new idea for a more comprehensive and in-depth excavation of CQQN with an intervention effect on pharyngitis and other upper respiratory diseases in the future.
Neuroprotective effects of stem cells have been shown in some neurologic diseases. In this study, the effect of oral mucosal mesenchymal stem cells (OMSCs) on traumatic brain injury (TBI) was evaluated in long term.
TBI was induced by Marmarou's method. The number of 2 × 10
OMSCs was intravenously injected 1 and 24 h after the injury. Brain edema and pathological outcome were assessed at 24 h and 21 days after the injury. Besides, long-term neurological, motor, and cognitive outcomes were evaluated at days 3, 7, 14, and 21 after the injury.
OMSCs administration could significantly inhibit microglia proliferation, and reduce brain edema and neuronal damage, at 24 h and 21 days after the injury. Neurological function improvement was observed in the times evaluated in OMSCs group. YAP-TEAD Inhibitor 1 chemical structure Cognitive and motor function dysfunction and anxiety-like behavior were prevented especially at 14 and 21 days after the injury in the treatment group.

The objective of the work was to isolate the active constituent, its identification by spectroscopic techniques, and evaluation of the antidiabetic and neuroprotective activity from T. ammi on STZ Wistar rats. The dried fruits of T ammi were kept in a hydrodistillation apparatus to collect essential oil. The isolated fraction went through TLC, UV, FTIR, HPLC, HRMS, C13, and 1H NMR for characterization. Two dosage concentrations from the isolated compound were prepared as 10 and 20 mg/kg for treatment groups. The groups were tested for thermal and mechanical hyperalgesia, writhing, grip strength, spontaneous locomotor test, neuromuscular coordination tests, and histopathological and lipid profile analysis. Diabetes was induced by streptozotocin (45 mg/kg i.p.) and 12 weeks of treatment-induced diabetic neuropathy in Wistar rats. Biomarkers were evaluated to understand the neuropathic protection of thymol on STZ-treated Wistar rats. The biomarker studies (SOD, NO, LPO, Na+K+ATPase, and TNF-α) further confirmed thymol's diabetic neuropathy protective action. This study suggests that isolated compound thymol was antidiabetic and neuroprotective as it has shown controlled glucose levels defensive nerve damage in STZ Wistar rats. P less then 0.05 level of significance was observed in the levels of endogenous biomarkers, fasting blood glucose levels, actophotometer response, and response latency in treated groups compared to the diabetic group, whereas P less then 0.001 level of significance during lipid profile levels, thermal algesia, and neuromuscular comparison tests was noted in treated groups compared to the diabetic group.

Though cloud computing technology is beneficial to educational sector, it is important to assess their economic benefits, technical, organizational, environmental appropriateness and potential obstacles before adopting the new technology. There are four evaluating theory for adopting the cloud computing technology which are the Technology Organization Environment (TOE), the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), the Diffusion of Innovation (DOI), and the Institutional (INT). This study has developed a new adoption framework for accepting cloud computing technology for HEIs of Saudi by integrating the above mentioned theories. This framework is unique from others because no research has been conducted yet on the adoption of community cloud at the organizational level considering the four theory simultaneously. This research has developed 25 hypotheses on the adoption of community cloud computing in HEIs and analyzed those hypotheses using SPSS statistical analysis software. The reliability of the data was tested by utilizing composite reliability and Cronbach's alpha method. This study have introduced an innovative approach and framework to understand the adoption of the community cloud which will help the decision-makers to build strategies in their organizations for effective adoption of community cloud services.
Swine influenza A virus (IAV-S) is a common cause of respiratory disease in pigs and poses a major public health threat. However, little attention and funding have been given to such studies. The aim of this study was to assess the prevalence of the Eurasian avian-like H1N1 (EA H1N1), 2009 pandemic H1N1 (pdm/09 H1N1), and H3N2 subtype antibodies in unvaccinated swine populations through serological investigations. Such data are helpful in understanding the prevalence of the IAV-S.
A total of 40,343 serum samples from 17 regions in China were examined using hemagglutination inhibition (HI) tests against EA H1N1, pdm/09 H1N1, and H3N2 IAV-S from 2016 to 2021. The results were analyzed based on a reginal distribution, seasonal distribution, and in different breeding stages.
A total of 19,682 serum samples out of the 40,343 were positive for IAV-S (48.79%). The positivity rates to the EA H1N1 subtype, pdm/09 H1N1 subtype, and H3N2 subtype were 24.75% (9,986/40,343), 7.94% (3,205/40,343), and 0.06% (24/40,34of influenza viruses.We examined short- and long-term outcomes of coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) in patients with ischemic heart disease and the effect of renal function on these outcomes. We included 2783 patients who underwent primary elective CABG at a single institution between 2002 and 2020 (age 67.6 ± 10.2 years; male 2281 male). They were stratified based on their preoperative estimated glomerular filtration rate and underwent off-pump CABG (completion rate, 98.1%); 57.6% cases used bilateral internal thoracic arteries (BITA). In-hospital mortality rate was 1.0%. Logistic regression analysis revealed that low left ventricular function ( less then 40%), but not chronic kidney disease (CKD) severity, was an independent predictive risk factor for postoperative hospital mortality. Significant differences existed in respiratory complications, infections, and hospitalization duration according to CKD severity. Deep sternal wound infection rate was 0.5%. The mean follow-up period was 7.1 (0-18.5) years. Estimated 10-year rtery in CABG is more beneficial in patients with CKD and cardiovascular comorbidities.
To assess the clinical and radiological outcomes after ACDF with 3D printed cellular titanium cages filled with bone marrow and to compare the clinical and radiological results with the current scientific literature.
ACDF was performed monosegmentally under standardized conditions. X-rays were analyzed to determine the range of motion, fusion rates, and subsidence preoperatively and 3 and 12 months postoperatively. Clinical outcome measurements included neck disability index (NDI), visual analogue scale (VAS) for brachialgia and cervicalgia, and patient satisfaction.
18 patients were included in the study. The mean RoM decreased from 7.7° ± 2.6 preoperatively to 1.7° ± 1.1° after 3 months and 1.8° ± 1.2° 12 months after surgery. The fusion rates were at 94.4% after 3 and 12 months. The mean subsidence was 0.9 mm ± 0.5 mm 3 months postoperatively and 1.1 mm ± 0.5 mm 12 months after surgery. The mean NDI improved significantly from preoperatively to 12 months postoperatively (34.6 ± 6.2 and 3.4 ± 4.1, respectively). The VAS-neck also showed a large improvement from 5.8 ± 2.2 before and 1.3 ± 1.4 12 months after surgery, as did the VAS-arm (6.4 ± 1.5 and 0.9 ± 1.6, respectively). Patient satisfaction was high throughout the follow-up period.
