Car Key Cutting Explained
Car key cutting is much more than just forming an object of metal. It is a complicated procedure that ensures security, functionality and durability of keys.

The good news is that you can fix this problem yourself at home by decoding your own VATS key. You'll require a multimeter and a chart to find out the resistance value of your key, but it is not difficult at all. You can find the resistance value by putting one of the leads on the metal prongs on both sides of your key.
This is a great method to test a brand new key and check if it works in your vehicle. Make sure you remove the key from the ignition before you begin testing it, otherwise the new key could be displaying an incorrect VATS number and will not work in your car.
