World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
The item upgrade feature allows players to upgrade their equipment. This can be done at any upgrader NPC.
Generally upgrades increase an items main stats and provide extra benefits, based on the item type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs or Goldwrap for casting builds.
Armour
Link's armor is an essential element in keeping him safe from danger. While it cannot be upgraded like weapons, it is able to be improved in different ways to enhance its defense capabilities.
The basic idea of armour is to shield a person or animal from physical harm or injury whether from physical assault or from various dangers to the environment or activity. Historically, the majority of armour was made from leather or fabric, but metal protections were also employed particularly for military purposes like heavy cavalry or combat drones.
Like weapons there are a variety of ways in which armor can be upgraded but the majority of them require visiting one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain provides a different level of upgrade and more protection levels requiring more rupees and other materials.
The first thing to note about Armor Upgrades is that they are upgrades that last forever and after they've been put in place, they cannot be replaced unless you have another piece of equipment that comes with the same upgrade. It is crucial to only apply the most effective level of upgrades to your gear and that you have the required materials to complete them.
For those who want to acquire the necessary upgrade components you'll find them in various locations around Hyrule such as shrines, merchants as well as enemies. They are typically marked by the blue triangle or gold circle symbol and can be found in great quantities as you progress through. While they may appear randomly, there's an opportunity that acquiring certain upgrade elements will trigger a quest that will reward you with more.
It's important to note that even though the amount offered by each upgrade could vary however, it will always be higher than nothing. This is because a full set of upgraded armour will give you a significant defense boost that protects you from all forms of attacks except magic which makes it a very effective tool for any type of.
Weapons
You can upgrade your guns by using special upgrades that create a truly unique weapon. These upgrades can increase the damage or alter the stats of the weapon in accordance with your build. They also allow new attachments such as unique enchantments and different kinds of ammunition, and aesthetic options.
To upgrade a weapon you'll need an upgrade component ready and the item. The weapon must be at a minimum of a certain level before you can upgrade it. Most weapons can only take one upgrade.
Weapon upgrade components can be found all over the world from enemies or from merchants. Upgrade components are a mix of components that you can put into weapons, armors trinkets, tools for gathering and other items in order to gain an attribute bonus. They require that the equipment be of a certain degree to accept the upgrade and can be upgraded in the same way as other items.
The upgrades themselves are a mixture of Smithing Stones and Runes, and they can be used to enhance the base stats of a weapon, and also to increase its scalability with other stats. They can be obtained from enemies who drop them in the open world, purchased from certain vendors, or obtained from combat.
Two NPCs can upgrade your weapon: Blacksmith Hewg, located in the Roundtable Hold hub zone and the Smithing Master Iji, in the Road to Manor hub zone. Both of these NPCs will take your Smithing Stones and Runes in exchange for a higher-level version of the weapon and an upgrade.
It's essential to prioritize upgrading your most-used items first, and then the ones you won't replace soon. If you're playing in a melee-based build, for instance, upgrade your weapon first, then your chest and shoulders followed by your hands and feet. The same principle goes for Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that some procs may be better than others, based on your style of play. The same is true for Armour Reforges, with certain types being superior to others.
Magic Items
A character can upgrade only one item of magic at one time. If an upgrade project is cancelled and the next upgrade for the item won't begin. Magic items that are upgraded cost twice the amount of gold they normally cost to make or purchase however they may offer additional advantages.
A magical item can be any item that has special properties or effects. Most of these items are weapons, however some are also shields, armor, cloaks, potions, rings, scrolls and other items. Some of these items have a sense of being.
The majority of magic items enhance their capabilities. This makes them more useful for players, or can aid them in overcoming a particularly challenging encounter. A weapon that is infused can provide an additional amount of damage to a specific type of enemy, for instance. This is especially beneficial for characters who have reached the level that they're likely to face a single type of monster repeatedly in Dungeons.
A ring with an infusion could grant protection against piercing, bludgeoning or slashing injuries from non-magical attacks (not including silvered ones) until the next time the character takes a lengthy rest. This is particularly beneficial for combatants who are melee or any other character who wishes to save the cost and hassle of purchasing a shield.
Certain enchanted objects possess special abilities that allow the character to cast spells that are not on their list of classes. This is useful for those who are having trouble filling their spell slots because of multiclassing. These items with enchanted abilities typically require an Intelligence (Arcana) check to use, and the spell is determined by rolling an index that is based on the number Intelligence points spent.
Other enchanted objects might permit the character's appearance to be changed or create a completely new one. These can be particularly useful for those who have to leave their homes, or are in a situation that they aren't welcomed. upgrade item can grant them invisibility or make them invisible to everyone, except for the chosen person.
Utility Items
Utility items are products that don't fall into the categories of Clothing, Armor or Weapons and offer a range of different capabilities. Unlike Armor and Weapons, no one utility item can conflict with another. The majority of utility items have a passive effect that players can activate while using them. However, some have additional abilities that can be activated by pressing a button, or by activating a skill.
The Flashlight is the most commonly used utilitarian item. It illuminates the surrounding area. Other useful items include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player to hover in mid-air when moving and the Jetpack which allows him to accelerate in any directions while on the ground. Several useful items can be immediately manufactured in the Engineering section while others are unlockable through Research projects or experimental projects in the Proving Ground.
Players can unlock more powerful utility items in addition to the ones available in their regular inventory by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Certain of these items can be upgraded for more efficient use.
Most utility items give the player an advantage in navigation or boost the ability to fight. Sharpening stones, crafted by a Weaponsmith will increase power and Ferocity. Maintenance Oils, made by the Huntsman will increase concentration and healing power. Other items of utility can be used by the player to increase Damage or Condition Damage.
All XCOM soldiers can be equipped with a utilitarian item at the start of the campaign, and an additional slot becomes available through the use of certain types armor or completing engineering research or other projects in the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are made available by equipping the Grenade Launcher which allows the player to equip an Smoke Grenade or Bomb in an additional grenade slot while an offensive grenade is equipped in the main slot for grenades.
