Path of Exile Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a common and essential way to boost the performance of a variety of items in Path of Exile. They can also provide additional damage, AD or even affixes.

Often times however upgraded Common and Magic gear is outclassed by Rare-grade gear because of their high requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades can be applied to both armor and weapon items. They increase the effectiveness of the item that they are attached to. Armor upgrades can be found in the world of games and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at bonfires. Alternately, they can be salvaged from items that have upgrade components within them by using an expert or greater salvage kit.

The amount of damage an armored item or weapon will absorb is contingent on the level of its upgrades. The absorption of damage by a piece armor will increase as it is upgraded to the maximum upgrade level. However, it's important to keep in mind that this will raise its weight, requiring it to weigh more than before.

There are a variety of armor upgrades that are available in the game. Each one has a distinct impact. For instance, certain upgrades will give the armor a certain amount of health points while others will make it stronger and lighter. The kind of armor upgrade an item can get is indicated by the name of the upgrade, as shown in the table below.

Some of the upgrades are also magic or a mix of technology and magic, which is identified by a "Magic" or "Hybrid" entry in the table below. Furthermore, some upgrades require a charge to use, which are identified by a "Charges" entry in the table below. These charges are updated daily or never expire, depending on the upgrade.

Iron Ore is the cheapest way to upgrade your armor. You can locate it by exploring and looting small treasure chests. Titanium is more expensive but is readily available in the smelters of Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, such as the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to higher level armor pieces. These upgrades can provide a significant boost to performance and are worth the investment, particularly for one-handed weapons.

The player must be aware, however, that upgrading a piece up to the maximum upgrade level will increase its defense values. However, it can also reduce the speed and agility of the piece. Therefore, it is not recommended to upgrade the majority of armor pieces above +9, since the added defense is usually not worth the weight and power costs of the upgrades required.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades allow players the ability to improve certain aspects of their weapon. Upgrades can boost the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage caused by shotgun shells. Certain weapons also come with upgrades that improve their innate characteristics. Frictionless materials (improves stability, minimizes the risk of overheating) and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's velocity to cause more damage) are two examples.

The majority of upgrades to weapons require a whetblade. It's one of three Power Dices and a different amount Minerals and Erons. item upgrade can be obtained by doing side quests, or taking out a certain number of bosses or monsters, or from the Weapon Upgrade NPC in Central Flarine.

To upgrade an equipment set, weapon piece or Whetblade, you must visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee of a certain amount of bars. Jewels

All kinds of jewels can be made at the Jeweler however, there are some exceptions to this, such as the rare and legendary jewels that require you to be at a high enough level to be able to get the privilege of having them. Like other upgrade components jewels are able to be swapped by a different jewel of the same kind without damaging it. However it is only possible to replace the jewels in an equipment piece only once.

upgrade item is normal to use more gems for aesthetic reasons. The jewels can also enhance performance and make a harder surface than metal so that repeated friction caused by pivots does not cause damage to the movement.

A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs to enhance the appearance of your weapons and shields. These provide a small bonus and are able to be swapped easily however they aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs, like jewelry, can be upgraded at the Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Crystals. Glyphs can also be removed, which returns them to the inventory. Other upgrade components like aegis or traits cannot be swapped, and can only be recovered through an upgrade extractor or salvaging with the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or Ascended Salvage tool.


Trinkets

Trinkets are items of equipment that bestow an array of tiny but valuable advantages to your hero. They are available in the start-up area as rewards for personal stories or loot. They are also available from vendors and by the completion of road interactions. They can be found on the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.

The first trinket players can unlock is the cloak. It grants a small but valuable boost in movement speed and the ability to escape. The player will then be able to acquire necklaces, rings, and amulets in a similar fashion as they did with weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment has one upgrade slot that can accommodate either a universal upgrade or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be used on any equipment. Jewels cannot be upgraded or replaced, and can only be used with certain trinkets.

These trinkets grant additional buffs and abilities that are active even when the hero isn't in combat. This allows a hero to be more efficient when they are not active. It can also make up for the absence of strong slot in the talent tree or team which would normally be filled by a hero's top stats.

As a rule, trinket upgrades should prioritize BiS (Best in Slot) items you won't replace anytime soon. Next, any items with desirable statistics that aren't as significant as the iLevel of the item that is to be upgraded. This is true especially if you are looking to upgrade multiple stats on an item. It is more beneficial to upgrade a single important stat rather than two suboptimal ones.

Jungle players often upgrade their yellow trinket to a red one at the start of the game. Top and mid players, on the other hand they will select either a pink or green ward, depending on the matchup. These choices will have a major impact on the hero's map control abilities.

In addition to the items listed above, players will find other trinkets that form of rewards and trophies throughout the game. These can be earned by completing certain milestones in the story, such as completing a chapter's main quest or killing a particular boss. They can be viewed by selecting the appropriate achievement in the reward tab of the hero menu.
