The Reason Why You're Not Succeeding At Item Upgrading
World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also boost extra bonuses, such as crit chance and PvE damage.

For example a weapon that has the upgrade template that is ending in % will take on 3% attack damage every time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item level increases.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armor and trinkets in order to provide them with a boost in stats or an extra effect. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades also come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be placed in equipment that has a slot to accommodate them. The item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level to allow a component to be applied. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they can't be used multiple times or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment, as well as some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade can include a suffix or prefix, modifying the name of the item to which it is applied (for instancethe "Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players create stronger versions with fewer upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level using standard methods.

A 'boost upgrade' can alter the defense or attack properties of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them from the cash shop or obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of the item will be revealed during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue improving their equipment, even if they're unsure of the extent to which it will improve following a subsequent reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be expensive and it's possible that the item will eventually become obsolete or even break when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to minimize or eliminate the possibility of failure. Certain upgrades also provide a bonus if they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade elements that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes in a radius around them and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as possible up to 15 levels.

In the final game you'll find that the best way to enhance your gear is to place Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15, and they provide a large boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes faster.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, but Glyphs are the only upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restriction. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt with a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a certain range of values it can improve a statistic by, and the value is displayed when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph with the same rank or higher rank, which will boost the value of the glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of an Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt has the chance of dropping one of the numerous Glyphs as well as also a few rare glyphs to be found in the form of drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

When you have the desired Glyphs You will have to put them on your gear. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that boosts a particular set of stat nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs increase the number of nodes connected to them, which is why it is best to place Glyphs in key locations on the Graph. This will increase the impact. Druids for instance should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their primary damage nodes.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items lets players increase the performance of specific items by putting upgraded components into them. This is commonly known as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned an amount that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled until they reach a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each item level requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or bought from NPCs. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns several Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrade the item. Once enough points have been earned, the upgrade can be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced by a new item of the same kind. This means that the same armor piece will become an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item will have its own set bonus. This can be a disadvantage in that it could make the item more expensive, even if you don't need it.

If the player has enough tokens they can reroll item upgrades . This will cause the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will come with an initial level and a different set of bonuses. This can be useful however it should not be used frequently as it can be a waste of resources.

Certain upgrades can boost their value, allowing players to customize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides buffs when the player repeatedly enters or leaves the water. This item can be upgraded many times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item can be very valuable in PvP, as the best version of it could be worth between 20 and 50x its non-upp'd value.

Requirements

The upgrade of items allows players to boost the quality of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets above ilvl 385--by providing the appropriate currency and items to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces increase its base defense and weapon upgrades items increase the damage they deal and also increase their strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, except for hero gear which can be upgraded up to eight times. Each when you upgrade an item, it is given a chance to fail--the failure rate increases the more you go over the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures will result in the item reverting to its original condition which means that the player has to pay for more items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.

If an item is not upgraded the experience bar in the bar for growth will be reset to zero. In addition, the item will lose any bonuses it gained, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as any additional effects associated with the effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or the speed of reloading). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that, if a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit it will be applied prior to any increase in attack damage. Slots is a new attribute that has been added to the definitions of items. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item are based on its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its value. For instance an item of common use could have five upgrades at a cost. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items have a lower cost per upgrade.

Premium items could require different upgrades than regular gear. For instance, they may need less sowels, but they will require more minerals and orons. The player will need to carry each piece of gear they wish to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each upgrade will require the use of different upgrade ingredients.
