Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear with new affixes, increasing the base stats of the item or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.
Typically objects with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, whereas objects with strong bases, such as eth titans do not vary much in their stats after being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be used to upgrade weapons, armor, trinkets and gathering tools, providing an attribute bonus or additional effect while the equipment is used. They can be bought from vendors, gathered in loot, dropped by enemies or received as a reward for missions or chests. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before you can upgrade.
In order to upgrade the quality of a weapon or piece armor, the user must select it and then click on the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade stats and the necessary component or materials.
There are three kinds of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which are made up of gems, can be put in any type of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are only placed in ascended gear or legendary equipment are similar to gems, but offer higher bonuses and cannot be placed in any other kind of equipment. Suffix upgrades that can be put in gathering tools, add their names to the end of the name of the item they are attached to, for example adding a Glyph to the Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would change it to a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.
In the case of upgrades for gathering tools, if a player replaces one glyph by another the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component, it will be destroyed, except for inscriptions, which can be swapped freely.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from previous versions in some important ways. Gear is now divided into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a specific number of times before they are "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, however the materials needed do not. This allows players to focus their efforts on a select few items and maximize the effect of these items rather than spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.
This will enable the item to receive new upgrade components, and have a greater chance of success. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Energy, and it will reset to zero after failure or increases if the upgrade is successful.
Once item upgrades is upgraded to its highest level, it is able to get an affix to increase its capabilities. The number of affixes available depends on the item's base type. For instance the rare or exclusive weapon that has a standard base will have only two affixes for it, while a legendary armor will have up to eight affixes for it.
Each upgrade requires a specific number of Flightstones or Crests, based on whether the item is at its current level, and in which slot it is located in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item does not reach its max level the NPC will offer players the option to transfer it to a different person and then re-infuse the item with a different set of upgrades. This process can take between one and two hours, and costs the same amount of materials. However, it has a lower chance of success.
Engineers will employ a level to compare the height of the building against an established location, such as the benchmark. This method is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and the level before turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method makes sure that buildings are constructed to a high level of safety and accuracy.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can significantly increase the strength of an item and damage as well as other characteristics. You can do this through the menu for items, or by pressing the Reroll button when you upgrade an item. Rerolling items can be expensive and should be done sparingly.
Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator that indicates the level of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled depends on the rarity and cost of upgrading of the item.
Prior to this, certain upgrade items were given priority affixes, which made them easier to roll. It meant that you'd get the stats most important to your build more frequently than others. This included stats like the armor's total armour, thorns, and control impaired duration reduced stats or the weapons' bonus attack speed and strike chance.
This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes were removed and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each stat. This can be a great or bad thing depending on your needs and expectations from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can come with a bonus that increases the item's power by a set percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added to normal affixes. The more you improve an item, the better your chance of getting the bonus of your choice.
The game also comes with a number of sets, which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on a unit. This is a great method to give a character a lot more power without spending a ton of money.
Many players reroll their weapons and gear particularly in the beginning stages. Rerolling is a method to get a more powerful character faster, allowing players to advance in the game and achieve higher tiers.
Sets
Sets are collections that can be organized in different ways. They can be of different sizes, have no elements, or have a single element. They can be used to organize data or separating information. They also aid in studying patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways, such as by size and shape.
There are a variety of set items that can be upgraded in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some are worth upgrading, others aren't. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that provide high defense value and set bonuses. Weapon upgrades are not as effective in improving stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you own a lot of armor pieces or weapons.
Set items can be upgraded to include unique tools that are suitable for certain builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are examples of this. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms as well as Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).
Upgrades can also be done to bring certain items to parity with the levels. For example the Immortal King set has a large level range, between 29 and 76. Upgrading lower-level set items can boost their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will display the item's attributes and the required items to upgrade it. The item's attributes will be displayed, along with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth Face, for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Alternately, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the upgrade requirements of specific items.
In general, armor and weapons are more valuable when fully updated. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have weapons-damage or spell glyphs. This will bring about a significant improvement in their stats. This will also boost the defense of armor with an updated look.
