World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items give players the ability to upgrade equipment that they already have. This can be done at any upgrader NPC.
Upgrades increase the main stat of an item, and can also add extras based on its type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB Sorcs or Goldwraps for casting builds.
Armour
Armour is one of the main factors that keep Link protected from injury in the majority of situations. While it isn't able to be upgraded like weapons, you can still enhance its defence capabilities in a variety of ways.
Armour is designed to shield animals or people from harm or injury regardless of whether it's a direct physical attack or a variety of hazards posed by the environment or activities. Historically, most armour was made of fabric or leather, but metal protections were also used particularly for military purposes such as heavy cavalry and combat drones.
Like weapons, there are a number of ways that armor can be upgraded however, most of them will require a visit to one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has its own level of upgrades with higher levels of upgrades granting higher levels of protection and requiring a higher cost in rupees and materials to unlock.
First, Armor Upgrades are permanent upgrades. Once they've been applied and removed, they cannot be reverted unless you own another piece of gear with the same upgrade. You should only apply the highest-level upgrades to your equipment and ensure that you have the materials required to complete the process.
In terms of acquiring the upgrade components needed, you'll find them all over Hyrule such as shrines, merchants and even enemies. They are typically marked with a blue triangle or a gold circle symbol and are available in large numbers as you progress through. While they might appear randomly, there's the possibility that acquiring certain upgrade components will lead to quests that reward you with more.
It's important to note that even though the amount offered by each upgrade could vary however, it will always be higher than nothing. A complete set of upgraded armor will give you a powerful defense boost that protects you from all types of attacks and will also protect against magic. This makes it an effective weapon for any class.
Weapons
If you want to make your guns truly distinctive, you can upgrade them by utilizing a variety of unique upgrades. They can boost damage, alter the weapon's stats to cater to your specific build or even unlock new attachments, such as unique enchantments, ammo types and other options for aesthetics.
To upgrade a weapon, you'll require an upgrade component in place and the item. The weapon must also be above a certain level for the upgrade to take effect and most weapons only accept one upgrade at one time.
There are item upgrader upgrade components scattered around the globe and from the hands of enemies, or they can be purchased from merchants. Upgrade components are made up of ingredients that you are able to slot into weapons, armors trinkets, gathering tools and trinkets in order to gain an attribute bonus. The equipment must be a certain level to accept the upgrade. It can be upgraded the same way as other items.
Upgrades are a mixture of Smithing Stones (a type of stone) and Runes. They can be used to boost the effectiveness of weapons and improve their effectiveness in comparison to other stats. item upgrades are available from enemies in the open or from merchants. They are also dropped through combat.
There are two NPCs who can upgrade your weapons: Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub area and the Smithing Master Iji in the Road to the Manor hub area. Both of these NPCs will take your Smithing Stones and Runes in exchange for a more powerful version of the weapon and an enhancement.
Prioritize upgrading your most-used slot items first. Then, upgrade the items that you won't replace soon. If you're planning on playing a melee build, for instance upgrade your weapon, then your shoulders and chest followed by your hands and feet. The same principle applies to Magic and Utility Items. However, based on your playstyle, some procs will be more useful than others. Armour is no different, with some refining better than others.
Magic Items
A character is able to upgrade only one item of magic at one time. If an upgrade plan is cancelled then any subsequent upgrades for the item will not start. Upgraded magic items cost twice as much gold to make or purchase, but they can offer other benefits.
A magical item is an item with special properties or effects. The majority of these items are weapons, but some are also armor, shields, cloaks, potions, rings, scrolls and other items. Some of these items are sentient.
The majority of magic items can be upgraded to be enhanced with new abilities. This can make them more useful to a player, or it can aid them in overcoming an especially difficult challenge. A weapon that is infused can provide bonus damage against a particular type of enemy, for instance. This is especially useful for characters that have reached a point at which they'll likely encounter the same kind of monster in dungeons repeatedly.
item upgrades that is infused with magic could provide immunity to nonmagical attacks that bludgeon, pierce, or slash (excluding silvered attacks) until the character takes another long rest. This is particularly beneficial for melee fighters or anyone looking to avoid purchasing a shield.
Some enchanted objects have special abilities that allow the character to cast spells that aren't on their class list. This is beneficial for characters who have trouble filling their spell slots due to multiclassing. These enchanted items generally require an Intelligence (Arcana) check to use, and the spell's effectiveness is determined by rolling an array of tables that is based on the number Intelligence points used.
Other objects with enchanted powers could allow the character's appearance be changed, or they could even create a new appearance. These can be particularly useful for those who have had to leave their homes, or who are in a location that they aren't accepted. A magical item can grant them invisibility or make them invisible to everyone, except for the chosen person.
Utility Items
Utility items are products that do not fit into the categories of Clothing, Armor or Weapons and have a range of different capabilities. Utility items are not compatible with each other, unlike Armor or Weapons. Most utility items have a passive effect that players can activate by using them. However, some of them have additional abilities that are activated by pressing a button or triggering an ability.
The Flashlight is the most common utilitarian item. It illuminates the surrounding area. Other items that are useful include the Helicopter Cap and Rocket Boots which allow the player float in mid-air while moving and the Jetpack which allows the player to accelerate in all directions when on the ground. In the Engineering section you can instantly produce several utilitarian items, whereas others are available only through Research projects or Experimental projects on the Proving Ground.
Players can gain more powerful utility items in addition to the items they have in their usual inventory by purchasing them at the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Some of these items can be upgraded for more effective use.
The majority of utility items provide the player with an advantage in navigation or boost a specific combat ability. Sharpening stones, crafted by an Weaponsmith will increase power and Ferocity while Maintenance Oils, created by an Huntsman can increase concentration and healing power. Other useful items, such as Writs and Theses created by the Scribe can be used to give the player either an increase in Damage or Condition Damage.
All XCOM soldiers can be equipped with a utilitarian item at the start of the campaign. Later, an additional slot becomes available through the use of certain types armor or completing engineering, research or experiments in the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are added by equipping the Grenade Launcher, which allows the player to equip an Smoke Grenade or Bomb in an additional grenade slot while an offensive grenade is placed in the main grenade slot.
