Emulsions in outer electrical career fields.
Applications of the proposed models showed better compliance and consistency with the experimental results compared to the available design models providing safe and verified predictions. Further, the second model implements the ACI code for RC using a simple and easy-to-apply formulation.
To simulate mechanical shocks on an intracranial implant called WIMAGINE
, Clinatec chose a Johnson-Cook model to account for the viscoplastic behavior of grade 2 titanium in a dynamic study using Radioss
.

Thirty tensile specimens were subjected to tensile tests at room temperature, and the influence of the strain rate (8 × 10
and 8 × 10
s
) and sandblasting was analyzed. Relaxations were included in the tests to analyze viscosity phenomena.

A whole set of parameters was identified for the elastic and plastic parts. Strain rate influence on stress was negligible at these strain rates. As expected, the sandblasting hardened the material during the tests by decreasing the hardening parameters, while local necking occurred at an earlier strain.

This article provides the parameters of a Johnson-Cook model to simulate the elastoplastic behavior of pure titanium (T40, grade 2) in Finite Element Model (FEM) software.

This type of functionalization process allows components with high geometric complexity and high mechanical properties to be produced efficiently in small series without the need for additional molds. In this study, hybrid specimens were generated by additively depositing PA6 (polyamide 6) via fused layer modeling (FLM) onto continuous woven fiber GF/PA6 (glass fiber/polyamide 6) flat preforms. Specifically, the effects of surface pre-treatment and process-induced surface interactions were investigated using optical microscopy for contact angle measurements as well as laser profilometry and thermal analytics. The bonding characteristic at the interface was evaluated via quasi-static tensile pull-off tests. Results indicate that both the bond strength and corresponding failure type vary with pre-treatment settings and process parameters during generative hybridization. It is shown that both the base substrate temperature and the FLM nozzle distance have a significant influence on the adhesive tensile strength. In particular, it can be seen that surface activation by plasma can significantly improve the specific adhesion in generative hybridization.Materials based on Ni-Co-Fe alloys, due to their excellent magnetic properties, attract great attention in nanotechnology, especially as candidates for high-density magnetic recording media and other applications from spintronic to consumer electronics. In this study, Ni-Co-Fe nanocrystalline coatings were electrodeposited from citrate-sulfate baths with the Ni2+Co2+Fe2+ ion concentration ratios equal to 1511, 1521, and 1541. The effect of the composition of the bath on the morphology, microstructure, chemical composition, microhardness, and magnetic properties of the coatings was examined. Scanning (SEM) and transmission (TEM) electron microscopy, X-ray diffractometry (XRD), and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) were used to study surface morphology, microstructure, chemical, and phase composition. Isothermal cross-sections of the Ni-Co-Fe ternary equilibrium system for the temperature of 50 °C and 600 °C were generated using the FactSage package. Magnetic properties were analyzed by a superconducting quantum interference device magnetometer (SQUID). All the coatings were composed of a single phase being face-centered cubic (fcc) solid solution. They were characterized by a smooth surface with globular morphology and a nanocrystalline structure of grain diameter below 30 nm. It was determined that Ni-Co-Fe coatings exhibit high hardness above 4.2 GPa. The measurements of hysteresis loops showed a significant value of magnetization saturation and small coercivity. The microstructure and properties of the obtained nanocrystalline coatings are interesting in terms of their future use in micromechanical devices (MEMS).P(VdF-HFP) films are fabricated via a solution casting doctor blade method using high (HVS) and low (LVS) volatile solvents, respectively. The structural properties and the ferroelectric behavior are investigated. The surface structure and crystal phase composition are found to be strongly dependent on the type of solvent. LVS leads to a rougher copolymer surface structure with large spherulites and a lower crystallinity in contrast with HVS. The crystalline phase of copolymer films fabricated with HVS consists almost exclusively of α-phase domains, whereas films from LVS solution show a large proportion of γ-phase domains, as concluded from Raman and X-ray diffraction spectra. Virgin films show no ferroelectric (FE) switching polarization at electric field amplitudes below 180 MV/m, independent of the solvent type, observed in bipolar dielectric displacement-electric field measurements. After applying electric fields of above 180 MV/m, a FE behavior emerges, which is significantly stronger for LVS films. In a repeated measurement, FE polarization switching already occurs at lower fields. A shielding effect may be related to this observation. Additionally, Raman bands of polar γ-phase increase by high-electric-field cycling for the LVS sample. learn more The solvent used and the resulting crystal phase composition of the virgin sample is crucial for the copolymer behavior during bipolar electrical cycling.Nanoparticle agglomeration in the transition regime (e.g. at high pressures or low temperatures) is commonly simulated by population balance models for volume-equivalent spheres or agglomerates with a constant fractal-like structure. However, neglecting the fractal-like morphology of agglomerates or their evolving structure during coagulation results in an underestimation or overestimation of the mean mobility diameter, dm, by up to 93 or 49%, repectively. Here, a monodisperse population balance model (MPBM) is interfaced with robust relations derived by mesoscale discrete element modeling (DEM) that account for the realistic agglomerate structure and size distribution during coagulation in the transition regime. For example, the DEM-derived collision frequency, β, for polydisperse agglomerates is 82 ± 35% larger than that of monodisperse ones and in excellent agreement with measurements of flame-made TiO2 nanoparticles. Therefore, the number density, NAg, mean, dm, and volume-equivalent diameter, dv, estimated here by coupling the MPBM with this β and power laws for the evolving agglomerate morphology are on par with those obtained by DEM during the coagulation of monodisperse and polydisperse primary particles at pressures between 1 and 5 bar.
