c staff members; healthcare workers from departments of pediatrics, internal medicine, and infectious diseases; and staff of maternity and child care institutions at all levels. The guidelines will be periodically updated as new evidence becomes available.Geriatric epidemiology deals with the application of epidemiological techniques to study the distribution and prevention of health status, diseases, and risk factors among the elderly, to develop intervention measures for promoting healthy ageing. The ageing of the population is a gradually developed phenomenon that is accelerating in China, geriatric epidemiology is one of the important branches of epidemiology and the major pillars of geriatric preventive medicine that play an important role in disease prevention and health promotion. In this article, we reviewed the recent Chinese studies in geriatric epidemiology, and synthesized the distributions and determinants of health-related status in Chinese elderly, and finally highlighted the future trends and expectations of the geriatric epidemiological research.Non-occupational post-exposure prophylaxis (nPEP), a biological means to block the transmission of HIV, is recommended by European countries, USA and WHO to use in HIV high-risk groups, but its utilization rate is still very low. The information-motivation-behavioral skills model (IMB) can accurately explain the prevalence and change of health behaviors. Based on this model, this paper summarizes the progress in research of the influencing factors for nPEP use to provide a basis for further research to promote the use of nPEP.Avian influenza virus (AIV) is a kind of zoonotic virus which can cause acute respiratory infectious diseases. Since the report of the world's first human infection case of avian influenza A (H7N9) virus in China in 2013, close attention has been paid to the virus. AIV spreads widely around the world, and human infection with different types of AIV continues to occur, causing huge economic losses. At present, there are no specific treatment and drugs against the disease, and vaccination is considered as the most promising and effective method to control the human infection with AIV. selleck kinase inhibitor So far, there are many kinds of veterinary and human vaccines for H7N9 AIV, among which four types of human H7N9 AIV vaccines have entered the clinical trial stage, including virus-like particles vaccine, attenuated live vaccine, inactivated vaccine and DNA vaccine, which have shown good safety and immunogenicity. However, the true efficacies of the AIV vaccines remain unknown because no human vaccines are currently available in the market. In addition, although the existing influenza vaccine has good safety and immunogenicity in the human population, there is no cross-antibody response to H7N9 AIV. This paper summarizes the research progress of AIV etiology and epidemiology, the occupational exposure population investigation, the infection prevention and control strategies, and H7N9 AIV vaccine and H7N9 AIV anthropogenic monoclonal antibody, and discuss the remained problems, challenges and future trends in the research of AVI to improve the understanding of the disease and the prevention and control of global spread of AIV.Stroke has high disability rate and high mortality rate, resulting in huge disease burden to society and individuals. In the context of highly informationization of global health system, countries have built and improved various public health information platform to provide support for health decision-making through public health information collection, classification, extraction, analysis and sharing in the research of disease burden of stroke. Based on the retrieval of domestic and foreign literatures, this paper summarizes the research methods of stroke-caused disease burden and its public health information sources in China, evaluates the significance of public health as well as the limitations of each research method of disease burden and describes the application and development of stroke-caused disease burden big data platform in the world, and provide suggestions for establishing a more modern and information-based stroke-caused disease burden evaluation system in China by analyzing the limitations of the existing stroke-caused disease burden evaluation system. As an important branch of artificial intelligence, machine learning is widely used in various fields. Machine learning has similarity to classical statistical methods, but can solve many problems which are difficult for traditional statistics, so it is one of the important tools in epidemiological research. This paper introduced 9 common algorithms of machine learning and summarized their characteristics and applications in epidemiological research. Readers could choose appropriate machine learning method according to the research purpose for the better application of machine learning in epidemiological research.Biological age (BA) can be used to measure the aging process of individuals and make up for the deficiency that chronological age cannot explain the discrepancy of health status among individuals at same chronological age. In recent years, multiple measurements of BA based on clinical or phenotypic, molecular biological, or compound indicators have emerged. In the paper, we summarize some common measurements of BA and compare their validities.Health indicators of life expectancy are widely used to evaluate the overall health level of population or the disease burden in population. With the increase of the cohorts to which long-term follow-ups were made, more studies have explored the influencing factors of such indicators. This paper summarizes the commonly used indicators and their definitions, the basic principles of calculation, and the application of such indicators in the epidemiological studies of chronic diseases. Objective The study investigated and analyzed the health-related quality of life of diabetes patients in Gansu province before and after the healthcare reform and its influencing factors, so as to provide scientific evidence to improve the health-related quality of life of diabetes patients. Methods The study used data of the fourth and sixth national health service household survey in Gansu province before (2008) and after (2018) medical reform separately, and EQ-5D health utility index was calculated on the basis of Chinese time frade-off values for EuroQol Five-Dimensions Questionnaire Utility Value scoring system. Results Compared with the period before the healthcare reform, the five dimensions of EQ-5D for residents, aged 15 and above in Gansu, changed significantly after the healthcare reform action capability improved by 8.08% (27.43% vs. 19.35%), self-care improved by 16.16% (26.55% vs. 10.39%), normal activity improved by 8.97% (28.32% vs. 19.35%), pain/discomfort worsened by 1.38% (38.05% vs. 39.43 diabetes patients and the mental health of patients with diabetes. Objective To develop and evaluate the reliability and validity of risk behavior scale for in-home unintentional injury in urban children aged 0-6 years in China. link2 Methods Through literature review, expert consultation and pre-survey, the final scale was determined with 10 dimensions and 54 items. A total of 1 104 children aged 0-6 years were randomly selected by using multi-stage stratified cluster sampling in the urban area of Changsha and their guardians were invited to participate in this questionnaire survey. The information about the basic characteristics, incidence of unintentional injury and risk behaviors of the children were collected. Cronbach's α coefficient and split-half reliability were used to evaluate the reliability of the scale. Pearson correlation coefficient, Spearman correlation coefficient and factor analysis were used to evaluate the content validity and structural validity of the scale respectively. The children were divided into two groups according to the incidence of unintentional ins then 0.001). Conclusion The scale developed has good reliability and validity on assessing the risk behaviors of unintentional injury in urban children in China. Objective To systematically analyze and evaluate the IgG antibody levels of varicella-zoster virus (VZV) in healthy population in China. Methods CNKI, Wanfang, CBM and PubMed databases were used for the retrieval of literatures about VZV IgG antibody levels in healthy people in China from January 1, 2000 to November 3, 2020. The quality of the included papers was evaluated by the critical appraisal tools for cross sectional study from Joanna Briggs Institute (JBL). The stratified analysis on the IgG antibody levels in populations in different age groups, provinces, regions, gender groups, and years was performed by using software Stata 14.0. Results A total of 59 papers were included that met the inclusion criteria, including 51 papers in Chinese and 8 papers in English. There were 22 papers with quality score of 8, 16 papers with quality score of 7, 15 papers with quality score of 6, and 6 papers with quality score of 5. Meta-analysis showed that the positive rate of VZV IgG antibody in healthy population inna. Objective To systematically evaluate and analyze the original research of prescription sequence symmetry analysis (PSSA), summarize its research progress and methodological details, and provide a reference for the future use of this method. Methods The keywords related to PSSA were used for literature retrieval from Chinese databases (CNKI, Wanfang, and VIP) and English databases (PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane). Original articles that were related to PSSA and published before June 30, 2020 were selected. Information form was developed by Excel. Stata was used for the statistics analysis. Results There were 45 eligible articles included in the research. Since 2013, the number of studies using PSSA has increased rapidly. These studies were mainly conducted in Japan (n=11, 24.44%), China (n=10, 22.22%), Denmark (n=9, 20.00%), and Australia (n=8, 17.78%). link3 Medical claim database was used most commonly when PSSA was implemented. The included studies involved 16 types of drugs, of which the number of studies of psychotropic drugs and statins was highest (n=8, 17.78%), and adverse reactions of almost all human systems were involved. In terms of methodology, 35 (77.78%) and 43 (95.56%) studies clearly reported the run-in period and interval period, of which 14 (31.11%) and 9 (20.00%) respectively gave the method or reason for determining the duration. In addition, 16 articles (35.56%) and 18 articles (40.00%) reported sensitivity analysis and subgroup analysis results, respectively. Conclusions PSSA, one of the effective methods for safety signal detection in healthcare databases, has developed rapidly, but the methodological details and result reporting need to be improved. In China, PSSA research is still in its infancy, and it is necessary to pay attention to the quality of research and promote methodological exploration. Objective To explore the association of maternal anxiety with congenital heart disease (CHD) in offspring. Methods A case-control study design was used in this study. The data were collected in Shaanxi province from January 2014 to December 2016. Neonatal information is provided through specialized hospitals or institutions. Logistic regression model with adjustment for confounding factors was established to analyze the association between maternal perinatal anxiety and CHD in offspring. Meanwhile, subgroup analysis was carried out to explore its stability. Results Our study included 2 429 subjects, consisting of 773 cases and 1 656 controls. Women with anxiety during pregnancy accounted for 10.3% in the case group, while 7.8% in the control group. After adjusting for confounding factors, the level of maternal anxiety during pregnancy was positively correlated with CHD in the offspring (OR=1.04, 95%CI 1.01-1.07). The risk of CHD in the offspring of mothers with anxiety during pregnancy was 1.43 times higher than that in those whose mothers had no anxiety (OR=1.
