Part 1 focused on trainer skill acquisition with self-study of the Wheelchair Skills Program Manual and instructional videos focused on motor learning, spotting, and 10 intermediate and advanced wheelchair skills. Trainers practiced in pairs, receiving asynchronous feedback on video-recordings from a remote instructor. Part 2 included additional video modules targeted at "how to" assess and train others in four wheelchair skills gets over obstacle, ascends low curb, ascends high curb with caregiver assistance, and performs stationary wheelie. Upon completion, the trainers each provided 11 in-person training for 2-3 trainees.

Trainer confidence was assessed using the Self-Efficacy on Assessing, Training, and Spotting (SEATS) Test for Manual Wheelchairs. Trainee capacity ("Can you do it?") and confidence ("How confident are you?") were evaluated using the Wheelchair Skills Test Questionnaire (WST-Q).

Trainer confidence increased for assessment (p=0.003) and training (p=0.002), but not spotting (p=0.056). Trainee 4-item median [IQR] WST-Q scores significantly increased with training for capacity (13% [6,31] to 88% [75,88], p < 0.001) and confidence (13% [0,31] to 88% [81,100], p < 0.001).

ASP is water-soluble polysaccharides, and it is mainly composed of glucose (Glc), galactose (Gal), arabinose (Ara), rhamnose (Rha), fucose (Fuc), xylose (Xyl) and galacturonic acid (GalUA). The extraction methods of ASP include hot water extraction and ultrasonic wave extraction, and different extraction methods can affect the yield of ASP. ASP has a variety of pharmacological activities, including hematopoietic activity, promoting immunity, antitumor, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-aging, anti-virus, liver protection, and so on. As a kind of natural polysaccharide, ASP has potential application as drug carriers. This review provides a comprehensive summary of the latest extraction and purification methods of ASP, the strategies used for monosaccharide compositional analysis plus polysaccharide structural characterization, pharmacological activities and drug carrier applications, and it can provide a basis for further study on ASP.The widespread application of soluble enzymes in industrial processes is considered restrict due to instability of enzymes outside optimum operating conditions. For instance, enzyme immobilization can overcome this issue. In fact, chitosan-based nanofibers have outstanding properties, which can improve the efficiency in enzyme immobilization and the stability of enzymes over a wide range of operating conditions. These properties include biodegradability, antimicrobial activity, non-toxicity, presence of functional groups (amino and hydroxyl), large surface area to volume ratio, enhanced porosity and mechanical properties, easy separations and reusability. Therefore, the present review explores the advantages and drawbacks concerning the different methods of enzyme immobilization, including adsorption, cross-linking and entrapment. All these strategies have questions that still need to be addressed, such as elucidation of adsorption mechanism (physisorption or chemisorption); effect of cross-linking reaction on intramolecular and intermolecular interactions and the effect of internal and external diffusional limitations on entrapment of enzymes. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) T2* technique is used to assess iron overload in the heart, liver and pancreas of thalassaemic patients. Optimal iron chelation and expected tissue iron response rates remain under investigation. The objective of this study was to analyse serum ferritin and the iron concentration in the heart, liver and pancreas measured by MRI T2*/R2* during regular chelation therapy in a real-world cohort of patients with thalassemia.

We evaluated thalassaemic patients ≥ 7 years old undergoing chelation/transfusion therapy by MRI and assessed serum ferritin at baseline and follow-up from 2004-2011.

We evaluated 136 patients, 92% major thalassaemic, with a median age of 18 years, and median baseline ferritin 2.033ng/ml (range 59-14,123). Iron overload distribution was liver (99%), pancreas (74%) and heart (36%). After a median of 1.2 years of follow-up, the iron overload in the myocardium reduced from 2,63 Fe mg/g to 2,05 (p 0.003). The optimal R2* pancreas cut-off was 148 Hertz, achieving 78% sensitivity and 73% specificity. However, when combining the R2* pancreas cut off ≤ 50 Hertz and a ferritin ≤ 1222 ng/ml, we could reach a negative predictive value (NPV) of 98% for cardiac siderosis. Only 28% were undergoing combined chelation at baseline assessment, which increased up to 50% on follow up evaluation.

The optimization of oral health before allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) is important for preventing infectious complications during treatment.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the oral health condition and dental treatments performed in patients in pre-allogeneic HCT.

The records of patients treated during 2018 at a Brazilian HCT service were reviewed. The following oral health data were obtained 1. Decayed, missing and filled teeth / correlated index for primary dentition (DMFT/dmft); 2. Quality of oral hygiene and 3. Dental pathologies 3.1 Periodontal infectious focus, 3.2 Endodontic infectious focus and 3.3 Carie incidence. All dental procedures performed were surveyed.

Thirty-three patients were included, with a mean age of 28.42 (±16.37), 20 male (60%) and 13 female. The average DMFT/dmft found in this study was 10.24 (± 8.37), similar to the index found in the population in southeastern Brazil. The younger study population presented a DMFT/dmft considered high, whentreatment in the pre-HCT. This study included 120 patients diagnosed with SLE and 30 healthy controls. The relative gene expression of IP-10 was investigated with the Fold Change method, which was correlated with the level of lupus activity evaluated with the SLEDAI 2-K instrument.

Different levels of gene expression were found according to the SLE activity (P=<.001). IP-10 gene expression levels were higher in patients with severe activity than in those with no activity, low activity, and moderate activity. The increase in gene expression in the severe activity group was significant with a Fold Change of 3 CONCLUSION The significant increase in relative gene expression IP-10 may be a marker of severe lupus activity.

In this study, we aimed to investigate the correlation between SUVmax of primary tumor and prognostic factors/molecular subtype in ductal breast cancer patients.

We retrospectively reviewed 150 female patients with pathologically proven invasive ductal breast cancer from January 2015 to October 2019 who underwent
F-FDG PET/CT for initial staging. Histopathological prognostic features of the primary tumor (histological grade, hormone receptor status, Ki-67 index, vb.) were obtained from the tru-cut biopsy report. In
F-FDG PET/CT studies, the maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) of the primary breast tumor was calculated and compared with the presence of axillary lymphadenopathy and/or distant metastases, histopathological prognostic factors and molecular subtype.

The high SUVmax of primary breast tumors is significantly correlated with the clinicopathological factors high tumor size, high histologic grade, high Ki-67 index, axillary lymph node positivity and distant metastasis.
