Even first contact doctors can be consulted, surely with extraordinary benefits in the final result of patient care, but especially now in the COVID era that requires greater protection for patients and health workers. We also agree with Dr. Javier Crespo's group that scientific societies and the governments of the countries are even more interested in supporting this type of care and generating the legal bases for this purpose.Apart from pulmonary manifestations, there is an increased incidence of pancreatic involvement and acute pancreatitis (AP) reported in COVID-19 patients. In January 2021, a PubMed search using the terms "Acute Pancreatitis, COVID-19" yielded a result including 94 studies. Most of the studies refer to isolated cases or limited series, with the added difficulty that some authors have considered AP as elevated lipase and/or amylase levels without the diagnostic criteria for AP being met, as highlighted by Chivato et al. in relation to the case they report. Pancreatic involvement has been reported in 17 % of COVID-19 patients and AP in 1.8-2.0 % of these patients..Letter to Editor in reference to Chronic Viral Hepatitis C Micro-Elimination Program Using Telemedicine. The Mexican Experience by Perez Hernandez et al.Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) is a technique for the en bloc resection of early neoplastic lesions in the gastrointestinal tract. A step that must be carried out after excision is the pinning down of the specimen on a support plate such as a cork board to avoid artifacts because of tissue contraction (1). After ESD lesion borders usually curl up from contraction, hence this procedure must be carefully performed to prevent damaging the specimen. Recently, Nishizawa T, et al. (2) reported that dropping adrenaline onto the lesion results in edge relaxation, which facilitates fixation (2). However, the use of other drugs-such as Buscapine-that induce gastrointestinal smooth muscle relaxation, potentially with similar effects, has not been described. Below, two ESD specimens from two different institutions are shown. These specimens correspond to gastric lesions. Buscapine is applied on their surface and the edges become relaxed, thus facilitating stretching and thus fixation. In conclusion, the use of Buscapine may help in the processing of excised lesions by facilitating pinning out and reducing damage risk for specimens.Regarding our article "Daño pancreático pancreatitis aguda en pacientes COVID-19", we would like to clarify that the case previously described met the diagnostic criteria for acute pancreatitis, defined in the Atlanta classification and mentioned in several guidelines.A case of a massive gastrointestinal bleeding secondary to a between esophagus and aberrant right subclavian artery (arteria lusoria) is presented, treated first with haemostatic clips and later with a Sengstaken-Blakemore tube and endovascular stent. A brief literary review is done.Organic electronics is the technology enabling truly flexible electronic devices. However, despite continuous improvements in the charge-carrier mobility, devices used for digital circuits based on organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) have still not achieved a commercial breakthrough. A substantial hurdle to the realization of effective digital circuitry is the proper control of the threshold voltage Vth. AZ20 chemical structure Previous approaches include doping or self-assembled monolayers to provide the threshold voltage control. However, while self-assembled monolayers-modified OFETs often do not show the level of reproducibility which is required in digital circuit engineering, direct doping of the channel material results in a poor on/off ratio leading to unfavorable power dissipation. Furthermore, direct doping of the channel material in organic semiconductors could cause the formation of trap states impeding the charge-carrier transport. Employing the concept of modulation-doped field-effect transistors (MODFETs), which is well established in inorganic electronics, the semiconductor-dopant interaction is significantly reduced, thereby solving the above-described problems. Here, we present the concept of an organic semiconductor MODFET which is composed of an organic-organic heterostructure between a highly doped wide-energy-gap material and an undoped narrow-energy-gap material. The effectiveness of charge transfer across the interface is controlled by the doping concentration and thickness of an undoped buffer layer. A complete picture of the energy landscape of this heterostructure is drawn using impedance spectroscopy and ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy. Furthermore, we analyze the effect of the dopant density on the charge-carrier transport properties. The incorporation of these heterostructures into OFETs enables a precise adjustment of the threshold voltage by using the modulation doping concept. We explore the systematic construction of kinetic models from in silico reaction data for the decomposition of nitromethane. Our models are constructed in a computationally affordable manner by using reactions discovered through accelerated molecular dynamics simulations using the ReaxFF reactive force field. The reaction paths are then optimized to determine reaction rate parameters. We introduce a reaction barrier correction scheme that combines accurate thermochemical data from density functional theory with ReaxFF minimal energy paths. We validate our models across different thermodynamic regimes, showing predictions of gas phase CO and NO concentrations and high-pressure induction times that are similar to experimental data. The kinetic models are analyzed to find fundamental decomposition reactions in different thermodynamic regimes. This study examined the interfacial heat condition between a poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) self-assembled monolayer (SAM) and water using molecular dynamics simulation. It was found that the PEG SAM has higher thermal boundary conductance (TBC) than the traditionally used alkane-based SAM. The TBC conditionally varied with the length of the PEG molecules, where interfacial thermal resistance was a key factor. Our results reveal that the TBC of the PEG SAM/water interface is greatly influenced by its structural properties rather than the matching of vibrational properties between the SAM terminal and water. The structural analysis shows that the water structure around the terminal oxygen atom of the SAM plays a vital role in controlling the TBC. In this study, the concept of free volume has also been exploited, and the result suggests that the reduction of the free volume fraction accommodates a higher TBC. The model was precisely validated against experimental data by calculating the tilt angle and dihedral angle of the PEG SAM, the persistence length of the PEG chain in the water medium, and the sulfur position of the PEG SAM headgroup on the gold surface using quantitative scanning transmission electron microscopy image simulation.Platinum dichalcogenide (PtX2), an emergent group-10 transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) has shown great potential in infrared photonic and optoelectronic applications due to its layer-dependent electronic structure with potentially suitable bandgap. However, a scalable synthesis of PtSe2 and PtTe2 atomic layers with controlled thickness still represents a major challenge in this field because of the strong interlayer interactions. Herein, we develop a facile cathodic exfoliation approach for the synthesis of solution-processable high-quality PtSe2 and PtTe2 atomic layers for high-performance infrared (IR) photodetection. As-exfoliated PtSe2 and PtTe2 bilayer exhibit an excellent photoresponsivity of 72 and 1620 mA W-1 at zero gate voltage under a 1540 nm laser illumination, respectively, approximately several orders of magnitude higher than that of the majority of IR photodetectors based on graphene, TMDs, and black phosphorus. In addition, our PtSe2 and PtTe2 bilayer device also shows a decent specific detectivity of beyond 109 Jones with remarkable air-stability (>several months), outperforming the mechanically exfoliated counterparts under the laser illumination with a similar wavelength. Moreover, a high yield of PtSe2 and PtTe2 atomic layers dispersed in solution also allows for a facile fabrication of air-stable wafer-scale IR photodetector. This work demonstrates a new route for the synthesis of solution-processable layered materials with the narrow bandgap for the infrared optoelectronic applications. Many proteases require the assistance of an intramolecular chaperone (IMC) that is essential for protein folding. Subtilisin is produced as a precursor that requires its N-terminal propeptide to act as an IMC to chaperone the folding of its subtilisin domain. During the precursor folding, the cleavage of the peptide bond between the IMC and the subtilisin domain is the most important and rate-limiting step, which leads to the structural reorganization of the subtilisin domain and IMC's degradation. It is speculated that the cleavage is fulfilled by the nucleophilic attack of Ser221, with the assistance of Asp32 positioning the correct tautomer of His64 and His64 accepting a proton from Ser221. In this study, our results suggested that there was a different mechanism of cleavage of the peptide bond between the IMC and the subtilisin domain in nattokinase (NK), and the role of the NK catalytic triad on the cleavage was not consistent with the classical theory. This finding suggested that members of the subtilisin family had evolved different mechanisms to acquire their own active subtilisin efficiently.Facing increasing caseloads and an everchanging drug landscape, forensic laboratories have been implementing new analytical tools. Direct analysis in real time mass spectrometry (DART-MS) is often one of these tools because it provides a wealth of information from a rapid, simple analysis. The data produced by these systems, while extremely useful, can be difficult to interpret, especially in the case of complex mixtures, and therefore, mass spectral databases are often used to assist in interpretation of data. Development of these databases can be expensive and time-consuming and often relies on manual evaluation of the underlying data. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) released an initial DART-MS in-source collisional-induced dissociation mass spectral database for seized drugs in the early 2010s but it has not been updated to reflect the increasing prevalence of novel psychoactive substances. Recently, efforts to update the database have been undertaken. To assist in development of the database, an automated data evaluation process was also created. This manuscript describes the new NIST DART-MS Forensics Database and the steps taken to automate the data evaluation process.Membrane fusion is an important step for the entry of the lipid-sheathed viruses into the host cells. The fusion process is being carried out by fusion proteins present in the viral envelope. The class I virus contains a 20-25 amino acid sequence at its N-terminal of the fusion domain, which is instrumental in fusion and is called as a "fusion peptide". However, severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) coronaviruses contain more than one fusion peptide sequences. We have shown that the internal fusion peptide 1 (IFP1) of SARS-CoV-2 is far more efficient than its N-terminal counterpart (FP) to induce hemifusion between small unilamellar vesicles. Moreover, the ability of IFP1 to induce hemifusion formation increases dramatically with growing cholesterol content in the membrane. Interestingly, IFP1 is capable of inducing hemifusion but fails to open the pore.
