With its rapid spread, since the beginning of the outbreak in December 2019, the disease transmitted by SARS-CoV-2 has already caused over 2 million deaths to date. In this work, we propose a web solution, called Heg.IA, to optimize the diagnosis of Covid-19 through the use of artificial intelligence. Our system aims to support decision-making regarding to diagnosis of Covid-19 and to the indication of hospitalization on regular ward, semi-ICU or ICU based on decision a Random Forest architecture with 90 trees. The main idea is that healthcare professionals can insert 41 hematological parameters from common blood tests and arterial gasometry into the system. Then, Heg.IA will provide a diagnostic report. The system reached good results for both Covid-19 diagnosis and to recommend hospitalization. Orelabrutinib For the first scenario we found average results of accuracy of 92.891%±0.851, kappa index of 0.858 ± 0.017, sensitivity of 0.936 ± 0.011, precision of 0.923 ± 0.011, specificity of 0.921 ± 0.012 and area under ROC of 0.984 ± 0.003. As for the indication of hospitalization, we achieved excellent performance of accuracies above 99% and more than 0.99 for the other metrics in all situations. By using a computationally simple method, based on the classical decision trees, we were able to achieve high diagnosis performance. Sarma.While the effects of physical risk factors on MSD development have been a primary focus of musculoskeletal research, psychological stressors, and certain personal characteristics (e.g. ageing, sex, and obesity) are also associated with increased MSD risk. The psychological and personal characteristics listed above share a common characteristic all are associated with disruption of the body's neuroendocrine and immune responses resulting in an impaired healing process. An impaired healing response may result in reduced fatigue life of musculoskeletal tissues due to a diminished ability to keep pace with accumulating damage (perhaps reparable under normal circumstances), and an increased vulnerability of damaged tissue to further trauma owing to the prolonged healing process. Research in engineered self-healing materials suggests that decreased healing kinetics in the presence of mechanical loading can substantially reduce the fatigue life of materials. A model of factors influencing damage accrual and healing will be presented. Practitioner summary This article provides a potential reason why musculoskeletal disorder risk is affected by psychosocial stress, age, sex, and obesity. The reason is that these factors are all associated with a slower than normal healing response. This may lead to faster damage development in musculoskeletal tissues resulting in higher MSD risk.The need for an ideal tissue construct has lead to the search of a myriad of polymer composites with desirable properties. The nature, location and type of tissue to be regenerated determines the type of material to be used. A bone construct has its own requirements such as osteoconductivity, mineralization tendency, synchronized degradation rate, osteogenic differentiation potential etc, which results in search of new possible combination of materials aimed to improve tissue response. The present study involves fabrication of Chitosan/Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)/β-Tricalcium Phosphate (β-TCP)/Cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) porous composite by freeze drying process to be used as bone tissue engineering matrix. CNCs were isolated by acid hydrolysis of cellulose derived from pistachio shells. The prepared scaffold samples were characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and X-RAY Diffraction analysis (XRD). The scaffolds exhibited refinement in pore morphology and increased mineralization tendency on increasing CNC concentration. Samples with 1% and 5% CNC concentration have deposited apatite crystals with Ca/P ratio of 1.61 and 1.66 which is very close to the stoichiometric ratio of natural bone apatite. Compressive modulus of CS/PVA/β-TCP/CNC composite increased on increasing the CNC concentration to 5%. The highest cell viability was recorded in scaffolds with 5% CNC content. Though cell attachment tendency was observed in all samples but the samples with 5 and 10% CNC content demonstrated higher cell densities with significant calcium depositions when cultured for 72 h. Samples with 5% CNC concentration also possessed highest cell differentiation capabilities.This study aimed at evaluating the microaeration as an alternative for hydrogen sulfide removal from biogas of UASB reactors treating sewage. The set-up consisted of two pilot-scale UASB reactors, including a conventional anaerobic and a modified UASB reactor, operated under microaerated conditions. Air was supplied in the digestion zone, at 1 and 3 m from the bottom of the reactor, and three different air flows were investigated 10, 20, and 30 mL.min-1, corresponding to 0.003, 0.005 and 0.005 LO2/Linfluent, respectively. The main results showed that the microaeration provided a substantial decrease in hydrogen sulfide concentrations when compared to the concentrations observed in the biogas of the anaerobic UASB reactor. Hydrogen sulfide concentrations remained below 70 ppmv throughout the experimental period, corresponding to an average removal efficiency of 98%. Although a decrease in methane concentrations in biogas was observed, the feasibility of energy use would not be affected. The effect of microaeration on the overall performance of the reactor was evaluated, however, no significant differences were observed. The feasibility of limiting aeration conditions in the reactor digestion zone as an efficient alternative for hydrogen sulfide removal from biogas was demonstrated.The amount of total suspended solids (TSS) is the most visible indicator for evaluating water quality in reservoirs. Previous investigations paid more attention to TSS of the surface layer in reservoirs, while suspended particles are prone to settle, resuspend, and aggregate at the bottom of reservoir. There may be different patterns of the TSS in different depths. This study is to assess the TSS concentration by weight analysis, find the evidence of the existence of flocculated suspended particles by in situ underwater imaging analysis, and discuss the impact of the flocculation process of suspended solids on water quality in deep reservoirs. Although the TSS concentration is lower than other reservoirs with the same trophic level, many flocs were found at the bottom of the deep-water area (> 15 m) in the Biliuhe Reservoir according to the recordings of the in situ underwater camera. The further comprehensive analysis demonstrates that the fine particle in flood season and resuspension is the main source of suspended flocs at the bottom of the reservoir. While the slow settling velocity results in the flocculation of fine suspended particles and long-term residence in the bottom layer of the reservoir. TSS has a significant correlation with iron and total phosphorus. Resuspension, flocculation, and settling impact on the transport of suspended sediment and associated contaminants. The evidence from this study suggests that the impact of flocs on water quality should be further discussed to ensure water supply safety.Beef meat, one of the more environmentally costly animal-based foods, can be produced in two general ways, as the main product on specialised farms or as a co-product on dairy farms. In this study, two cases (a semi-confinement dairy farm (A) and a pasture-based dairy farm (B)) have been analysed by means of LCA to evaluate the environmental impacts associated with the coproduction of beef meat. In both cases, purchased feed production was found to be the main cause of environmental impacts in most of the categories considered. Additionally, cow emissions to air were the main contributor for the global warming category. Comparing the two dairy systems, notably lower environmental impacts were obtained for B in 13 of the 18 categories analysed. Regarding CF, 8.10 and 8.88 kg CO2eq/kg LW were obtained for A and B, respectively. These CF values were within the wide range found in the literature for beef meat (1.2-42.6 kg CO2eq/kg LW). Beef calves and cull cows are an important output of dairy farming, so that coproduction enables milk and meat with lower CF and associated environmental impacts to be obtained. In addition, the variability of the data found in literature and the lack of LCA studies based on real data for beef meat coproduced on dairy farms evidence the importance of in-depth study of this interesting topic.Military personnel are required to complete physically demanding tasks when performing work and training, which may be quantified through the physical stress imposed (external load) or the resultant physiological strain (internal load). The aim of this narrative review is to provide an overview of the techniques used to monitor work and training load in military settings, summarise key findings, and discuss important practical, analytical, and conceptual considerations. Most investigations have focused upon measuring external and internal load in military training environments; however, limited data exist in operational settings. Accelerometry has been the primary tool used to estimate external load, with heart rate commonly used to quantify internal load. Supplemental to heart rate, psychophysiological and biochemical measures have also been investigated to elucidate aspects of internal load. Broadly, investigations have revealed that military training requires personnel to perform relatively large volumes of physical activity (e.g. averaging ∼15,000 steps·day-1) of typically low-moderate intensity activity ( less then 6 MET), although considerable temporal and inter-individual variability is observed from these gross mean estimates. There are limitations associated with these measures and, at best, estimates of external and internal load can only be inferred. These limitations are particularly pertinent for military tasks such as load carriage and manual material handling, which often involve complex activities performed individually or in teams, in a range of operational environments, with multiple layers of protection, over a protracted duration. Comprehensively quantifying external and internal loads during these functional activities poses substantial practical and analytical challenges.
