sychological sequelae among COVID-19 survivors. The prevalence of PTSD was 20% (95% CI = 16-24%) and of anxiety was 22% (95% CI = 18-27%) among COVID-19 survivors. The prevalence of psychological distress was 36% (95% CI = 22-51%), of depression was 21% (95% CI = 16-28%), and of sleep disorders was 35% (95% CI = 29-41%) among COVID-19 survivors.Future researches are recommended to search for effective and safe methods to mitigate the psychological sequelae in COVID-19 patients.
COVID-19 and measures to contain it may have impacted college students' behavior, including their drinking behavior. Students' drinking may have decreased-for example, due to the closure of bars-but problematic drinking may have increased-for example, due to (solitary) drinking at home. Another behavior that has increased due to COVID-19 and the accompanying social isolation is students' social networking site (SNS) use. This is worrisome because students' SNS use has been shown to increase their alcohol use. Nevertheless, little research has investigated these behaviors and the possible link between them during a lockdown. Therefore, this study aimed to examine (1) whether students engaged in drinking during a lockdown, (2) whether they displayed their drinking behavior on SNSs, and (3) whether exposure to and posting of alcohol-related content was linked to their daily alcohol use.

337 college students (

= 20.63 years,

= 1.55 years; 50.3% male) participated in a two-week daily diary study. Descriptive statistical analyses and generalized linear mixed modeling (GLMM) were deployed.

Descriptive analysis results showed that during the week, students' drinking occurred with friends in dormitories, while in the weekend, this behavior shifted to drinking with friends and parents at home. Moreover, students mostly saw visual and posted textual posts of this drinking on SNSs. Furthermore, GLMM revealed associations between exposure to alcohol postings, sharing of alcohol postings, and students' probability of drinking on the same day.

This study provides important insights into students' alcohol use and its underlying mechanisms during health crises.

Genetic testing revealed a de novo deletion in the FOXC1 gene, establishing the diagnosis of Axenfeld-Rieger syndrome (ARS). The girl developed a gradually increasing exotropia, up to 95 prism diopters by the age of 3 years wherefore strabismus surgery was performed. Intra-operatively, only very rudimentary developed medial and lateral rectus muscles were found. This is the first observation of pronounced hypoplasia of both medial and lateral rectus muscles associated with ARS.
Our goal was to identify discrete clinical characteristics associated with safe discharge from an emergency department/urgent care for patients with a history of cancer and concurrent COVID-19 infection during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic and prior to widespread vaccination.

We retrospectively analyzed 255 adult patients with a history of cancer who presented to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) urgent care center (UCC) from March 1, 2020 to May 31, 2020 with concurrent COVID-19 infection. We evaluated associations between patient characteristics and 30-day mortality from initial emergency department (ED) or urgent care center (UCC) visit and the absence of a severe event within 30 days. External validation was performed on a retrospective data from 29 patients followed at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center that presented to the local emergency department. A late cohort of 108 additional patients at MSKCC from June 1, 2020 to January 31, 2021 was utilized for further validation.

In the MSKCCn translated into a bedside tool that the clinician may utilize to assist disposition of this group of patients from the emergency department or urgent care setting.
We identified easily obtainable variables that predict 30-day mortality and the absence of a severe event for patients with a history of cancer and concurrent COVID-19. This has been translated into a bedside tool that the clinician may utilize to assist disposition of this group of patients from the emergency department or urgent care setting.Acetaminophen (N-acetyl-para-aminophenol or APAP) is the leading cause of acute liver failure worldwide. Standard therapy for APAP overdose is with IV N-acetylcysteine (NAC). However, overdose patients treated with NAC can still incur hepatotoxicity in some circumstances. Fomepizole has proven safety in methanol and ethylene glycol poisoning and is a potent CYP2E1 and c-Jun-N-terminal Kinase (JNK) inhibitor that is effective even in the metabolic phase. We present a case series of 14 patients who had elevated APAP levels after overdose who were treated with fomepizole as an adjunct to standard IV-NAC. Fomepizole adjunctive therapy either completely prevented any hepatotoxicity, mitigated the effects, or reversed significant hepatocellular injury.
The clinical phenotype of severe acute asthma at the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is highly heterogeneous. However, current treatment is still based on a 'one size fits all approach'.

We aim to give a comprehensive description of the clinical characteristics of paediatric patients with severe acute asthma admitted to the PICU and available immunological biomarkers, providing the first steps towards precision medicine for this patient population. A literature search was performed using PubMed for relevant studies on severe acute (pediatric) asthma.

Omics technologies should be used to investigate the relationship between cellular molecules and pathways, and their clinical phenotypes. Inflammatory phenotypes might guide bedside decisions regarding the use of corticosteroids, neutrophil modifiers and/or type of beta-agonist. A next step towards precision medicine should be inclusion of these patients in clinical trials on biologicals.

Salinity and sea area significantly affected the composition of the fouling assemblages. Settlement plates appeared as the more efficient sampling method over scraping, while the seasonal analyses revealed that the monitoring effort should span over the summer and early autumn in the south-eastern, central, and northern Baltic Sea. The present findings indicate that marinas contribute to the spread of non-indigenous fouling organisms, and there is an increasing demand for the monitoring of marinas and stricter regulations regarding the biofouling management of leisure boats in the Baltic Sea.
The diagnostic value of six tumor markers was investigated and the appropriate combinations of those tumor markers to discriminate small cell lung cancer was explored.

Patients suspected with lung cancer (1938) were retrospectively analyzed. Candidate tumor markers from carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), squamous cell carcinoma-related antigen (SCC), cytokeratin 19 fragment 21-1 (CYFRA 21-1), neuron-specific enolase (NSE), tissue polypeptide antigen (TPA), and progastrin releasing peptide (ProGRP) were selected to construct a logistic regression model. The receiver operating characteristic curve was used for evaluating the diagnostic value of the tumor markers and the predictive model.

ProGRP had the highest positive rate (72.3%) in diagnosed small cell lung cancer, followed by neuron-specific enolase (68.3%), CYFRA21-1 (50.5%), carcinoembryonic antigen (45.5%), tissue polypeptide antigen (30.7%), and squamous cell carcinoma-related antigen (5.9%). The predictive model for small cell lung cancer discrimination was established, which yielded the highest area under the curve (0.888; 95% confidence interval 0.846-0.929), with a sensitivity of 71.3%, a specificity of 95.0%, a positive predictive value of 49.0%, and a negative predictive value of 98.0%.

Combining tumor markers can improve the efficacy for small cell lung cancer discrimination. A predictive model has been established in small cell lung cancer differential diagnosis with preferable efficacy.

Although the diversity of NDV in domestic chickens has been well understood, little light has been shed on NDV outbreaks in other avian species. We provide an annotated sequence of NDV/Owl/Guwahati/01/20, a virulent strain of NDV isolated from Barn Owls in captivity from Guwahati in Northeast India. The complete genome is 15192 bases long with a fusion protein (F) cleavage site 112KRQKR↓F117. The isolate showed 97.67% identity with its closest match, another highly virulent strain from Indonesia isolated from vaccinated commercial chickens; however, they differ in the F cleavage site. The NDV isolate from the owl shares 83.02% and 81.88% identity with the vaccine strains R2B and LaSota, respectively. Phylogenetic analysis with both F gene as well as whole-genome nucleotide sequence reveals that the NDV isolate from owl belongs to genotype VII, subgenotype VII.2 and differs significantly from any other isolate of NDV from India.Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a useful complementary imaging tool for the diagnosis and characterization of renal masses, as it provides both morphologic and functional information. A core MRI protocol for renal imaging should include a T1-weighted sequence with in- and opposed-phase images (or, alternatively with DIXON technique), T2-weighted and diffusion-weighted images as well as a dynamic contrast-enhanced sequence with subtraction images, followed by a delayed post-contrast T1-weighted sequence. The main advantages of MRI over computed tomography include increased sensitivity for contrast enhancement, less sensitivity for detection of calcifications, absence of pseudoenhancement, and lack of radiation exposure. MRI may be applied for renal cystic lesion characterization, differentiation of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) from benign solid renal tumors, RCC histologic grading, staging, post-treatment follow-up, and active surveillance of patients with treated or untreated RCC.The purpose of this cross-sectional study was to examine self-reported sexual assault perpetration history, as well as violence prevention-related prosocial tendencies, among fraternity men, unaffiliated men with membership intentions, and unaffiliated men without membership intentions with data from 262,634 college men in the United States. Results indicate that fraternity status was related to sexual assault perpetration, both prior to and while at their current institution of higher education; both perpetration history and fraternity status significantly related to diminished violence prevention-related prosocial tendencies. The findings have important implications for future research and practice to reduce the incidents of sexual assault on college campuses.
