Results of the review suggest that family supporters of adult trauma and abuse survivors generally experience physical, emotional, cognitive, behavioral, social, safety, and relational impacts. Implications of review findings and directions for future research are discussed.Localizing somatosensory stimuli is an important process, as it allows us to spatially guide our actions toward the object entering in contact with the body. Accordingly, the positions of tactile inputs are coded according to both somatotopic and spatiotopic representations, the latter one considering the position of the stimulated limbs in external space. The spatiotopic representation has often been evidenced by means of temporal order judgment (TOJ) tasks. Participants' judgments about the order of appearance of two successive somatosensory stimuli are less accurate when the hands are crossed over the body midline than uncrossed but also when participants' hands are placed close together when compared with farther away. Moreover, these postural effects might depend on the vision of the stimulated limbs. The aim of this study was to test the influence of seeing the hands, on the modulation of tactile TOJ by the spatial distance between the stimulated limbs. The results showed no influence of the distance between the stimulated hands on TOJ performance and prevent us from concluding whether vision of the hands affects TOJ performance, or whether these variables interact. The reliability of such distance effect to investigate the spatial representations of tactile inputs is questioned. In this study, characteristics of the long-term landfill settlement are analysed and the starting date of residual settlement is deduced using the data of the landfill 1 of the Gimpo Metropolitan Landfill (GML) measured for 27 years. The landfill 1 is a multi-staged municipal solid waste landfill where dykes are constructed after landfilling for subsequent waste fills. The landfilling began in 1992 and finished in 2000, and the waste settlement measurement continued throughout this period. The older waste of the lower lift shows higher biodegradation and larger settlement than the waste of the upper lift, which acts as vertical load. Large settlement occurred in the lower lifts due to the collapse of waste voids caused by the overburden load of the upper lifts after biodegradation of waste in the lower lifts during long-term landfilling. In the conventional landfills, that is, mono-layer landfills, the time-dependent settlement generally occurs after the stress-dependent settlement. But, most of the time, this landfill showed mainly the time-dependent settlement. The duration, at which the biodegradation of organic matters is reduced and the residual settlement begins, was 8.8 years in average and the date range was from 7.6 to 11.7 years considering each disposed block in landfill 1. This date is obtained by calculating from the mid-point time of the landfilling duration. The present study examines participant attitudes regarding whether a victim of IPV should forgive an offending partner and whether they should stay or leave a violent relationship. A total of 562 participants completed the study, which entailed responding to factorial vignettes online. Participants were primarily heterosexual, female, non-Latino, and White, with an average age of 21.75. Using logistic regressions, participants were significantly more likely to think the victim should forgive the perpetrator if the perpetrator was female and for less severe acts of aggression. Multinomial logistic regressions found that respondents were significantly less likely to state "yes" or "it depends," compared to "no," as to whether the victim should leave the relationship when the aggression was more severe and were more likely to say a male victim should stay in a violent relationship than a female victim. Qualitative analyses found three main themes regarding whether a victim should forgive (1) context matters; (2) forgiveness is best … with caveats; and (3) questioning how often violence had occurred. With regard to whether a victim should leave an aggressive relationship, two main themes emerged (1) situation matters … especially the relationship context and (2) questioning whether the violence had occurred before. This study provides insight into attitudes, by those external to a couple, regarding forgiveness and leaving a relationship after an instance of relationship aggression and has implications for both practitioners and policymakers. The constructed views about leaving a relationship may spill over into decisions regarding whether to implement policy surrounding IPV. Practitioners should also be cognizant of the varying definitions of forgiveness when working with clients who have experienced IPV as a practitioner's definition of forgiveness may not necessarily align with a client's definition.
To evaluate the effect of intravitreal recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) on diabetic tractional fibrovascular membranes (FVM) using proposed optical coherence tomography (OCT) criteria.

This prospective, interventional case series enrolled eyes with tractional retinal detachment who were candidates for pars plana vitrectomy. OCT images were obtained to evaluate the border of the attached-detached retina and overlying FVP at baseline and 1 week post-intravitreal tPA injection using the follow-up scan acquisition protocol. Two independent graders assessed retinal detachment (RD) height, FVM height, and retinal thickness at the site of membrane attachment.

Thirteen eyes from 13 individuals were included. Assessment of RD height, FVM height, and retinal thickness at membrane attachment point were feasible at both visits in 10/13 (77%), 10/13 (77%), and 8/13 (62%) of eyes, respectively. There was excellent agreement between the two graders for all measurements (all ICC > 0.94). Release of the retina-membrane attachment point was not observed in any eyes. No statistically significant change was found in any of the measured parameters.

Excellent agreement was achieved between the graders for quantitative assessment of diabetic FVM using our proposed OCT criteria. We did not observe a significant change in the FVM measurements, 1-week after intravitreal tPA injection.

To assess the effectiveness and safety of adjunctive topical netarsudil 0.02% and latanoprostene bunod 0.024% in patients with glaucoma.

A retrospective, multi-center, cohort study of patients with glaucoma treated with netarsudil 0.02% or latanoprostene bunod from five tertiary care centers. Inclusion criteria included patients with glaucoma treated with either medication as adjunctive therapy. Outcomes included mean absolute intraocular pressure (IOP) reduction and relative IOP reduction from baseline. Adverse reactions and reasons for discontinuation were reported. One-way analysis of variance, Kruskal-Wallis rank sum test, and Mann Whitney
test compared the outcomes.

A total of 95 eyes (95 patients) on netarsudil and 41 eyes (41 patients) on latanoprostene bunod were analyzed. Mean duration of use was 54.3 ± 28 days for netarsudil and 82.9 ± 51.2 days for latanoprostene bunod. At the final visit, mean IOP reduction was 3.9 ± 4.6 mmHg (17.5 ± 6.0%) (
 < 0.0001) with netarsudil and 2.9 ± 3.7 mmHg (13.6 ± 16.3%) (
< 0.0001) with latanoprostene bunod. IOP lowering did not depend on baseline number of IOP-lowering medications. The most common reason for discontinuation was non-effectiveness in both groups.

Similar to monotherapy, netarsudil and latanoprostene bunod demonstrated efficacy in lowering IOP when used as adjunctive therapy.

On 1690 slides with rat tissue samples from 6 preclinical toxicology studies, tissue regions were outlined and annotated by pathologists into 46 different tissue classes. From these annotated regions, we sampled small 224 × 224 pixels images (patches) at 6 different levels of magnification. Using 4 studies as training set and 2 studies as test set, we trained VGG-16, ResNet-50, and Inception-v3 networks separately at each magnification level. Among these model architectures, Inception-v3 and ResNet-50 outperformed VGG-16. Inception-v3 identified the tissue from query images, with an accuracy up to 83.4%. Most misclassifications occurred between histologically similar tissues. Mizagliflozin Investigation of the features learned by the model (embedding layer) using Uniform Manifold Approximation and Projection revealed not only coherent clusters associated with the individual tissues but also subclusters corresponding to histologically meaningful structures that had not been annotated or trained for. This suggests that the histological representation learned by HistoNet could be useful as the basis of other machine learning algorithms and data mining. Finally, we found that models trained on rat tissues can be used on non-human primate and minipig tissues with minimal retraining.
Delirium is stressful for both the patient and caregiver. However, caregivers have attracted minimal attention. We here identify depressed moods and associated factors among caregivers and caregiver knowledge of the delirium and non-pharmacological management.

This was a cross-sectional study. Caregiver and patient demographic characteristics, and patient clinical data, were collected. Caregiver depressed mood was analysed using the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale-depression subscale (HADS-D). We explored caregiver understanding of delirium and knowledge of non-pharmacological management. We used a multivariate linear regression model to identify factors associated with caregiver depressed mood.

For 224 caregivers, the median (interquartile range) HADS-D score was 8.0 (4.0-11.8). More than half (54.9%) had scores ≥8. Answers to multiple choice questions revealed that delirium was frequently misinterpreted as "anxiety" (25.9%) or "dementia" (25.4%). Of all caregivers, 74% had received no information on non-pharmacological delirium management. Younger age of patient, a longer time from delirium detection to consultation, a patient past history of depression, a spousal relation with the patient, and misinterpretation of delirium as dementia were associated with the depressed mood of caregivers.

The mental health of caregivers of patients with delirium requires more attention; they should be recommended to be informed and educated about delirium. Also, the clinicians need to find an easier term for the delirium to help caregivers understand.
