The scope of this study was to establish the prevalence of CKD and associated factors among young adults (18-59 years of age) from Rio Branco in the State of Acre. It involved a population-based survey conducted in 2014, in the urban and rural areas of the municipality and CKD was defined as the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) 29 mg/g. Association measures were estimated by logistic regression, with a confidence level of 95%. The overall prevalence of CKD was 6.2%. The presence of CKD was higher among women, aged 40 to 59 years, with non-white skin color, with lower schooling, and of sedentary disposition. There were statistically significant differences in the distribution according to the presence of CKD in the hypertension, diabetes and hospitalization variables over the past 12 months. limertinib EGFR inhibitor CKD among adults was associated with the female sex (OR 2.41, 95%CI 1.14-5.12), diabetes (OR 4.67, 95%CI 1.28-17.03) and arterial hypertension (OR 1.98; 95%CI 1.16-3.37). CKD reveals a high prevalence and is associated with chronic diseases, calling for the need for public health measures for early detection and prevention of its progression. The scope of this study was to investigate the prevalence of psychotropic drug use and its association with the overburden felt by family caregivers of Psychosocial Care Center users. This is a cross-sectional study performed with 537 family caregivers in the 21st Health Region of the State of Rio Grande do Sul. The prevalence of psychotropic drug use was calculated with a 95% confidence interval (95%CI) and the heterogeneity tests were performed between the strata of each independent variable. The association between psychotropic drug use and overburden was tested using Poisson regression with the calculation of the adjusted prevalence ratios. The prevalence of psychotropic drug use was 30%, with higher consumption among women (40%), individuals aged 41 -50 years (42.06%), with 5 to 8 years of schooling (37.57%), with income between 0.5 and 1 minimum wage per capita (34.43%), individuals who did not share caregiving duties (35.53%) and those who cared for patients with a major degree of independence (36.67%). The overburden felt was in direct relationship with the outcome, namely the higher the level of overburden the greater the prevalence of psychotropic drug use, reaching 60.1% at the highest level and remaining strongly associated with the outcome even in the adjusted analysis. This paper aimed to identify the thinking currents used for scientific production on health councils and conferences, from 1990 to 2017. This is an integrative review of literature carried out at the SciELO, LILACS and CAPES journals portals that resulted in the selection of 152 papers. They were analyzed by year of publication, author's institutional origin, dissemination media, object and type of study and theoretical approach. We identified that a gradual increase occurred in the number of publications over the study period and most empirical studies (92.8%) do not explicitly state the use of any theoretical approach in data analysis. The structuralist, post-structuralist and neo-institutionalist approaches used were mediated by a theoretical model, medium-range theories and concepts of authors of the European, North American and Latin American traditions. The knowledge produced about health council and conference in Brazil may benefit even more from the density of theoretical approaches to social and political sciences.Aimed at strengthening breastfeeding policies, human milk banks (HMBs) play an important role in promoting, protecting and supporting this practice. The objective of this study was to undertake a systematic review to identify activities developed by HMBs that demonstrate their role in promoting maternal and infant health. Searches for relevant articles were performed in the following databases PubMed, Virtual Health Library (BVS), and BVS Breastfeeding linked to the portal of the Brazilian Human Milk Bank Network. Eleven articles were included in the final sample. The main topics covered by the articles were the characteristics of breast milk donors; the importance of information provided by HMB professionals on maintaining breastfeeding for hospitalized premature infants; weight gain in premature babies fed on donated milk; HMB breastfeeding support actions; and factors influencing human milk donation. The actions developed by HMBs have a positive impact on the promotion of maternal and infant health, representing an important strategy for promoting breastfeeding and supporting the feeding of babies who are not able to feed directly at the breast. The objective of this study was to analyze the temporal trend of the incidence coefficients of HIV-AIDS infection via a retrospective ecological study and segmented regression in individuals older than 13 year reported at SINAN between 1980 and 2016. Of the 14,204 reported cases, 70.9% were male and 39.5% were white. The AIDS criterion presented growing incidence from 1986 to 1996 with Annual Percentual Change (APC) of 108.5% per year between 1983 and 1989 (CI 90.3 - 128.4), between 1989 and 1998 the APC was 13.2% (CI 8.2 - 18.3) and APC reduction in the period from 1998 to 2016, -6.2% (CI -7.4 - -4.9). High coefficients of the death criteria between 1988 and 2002 (4.7/100,000 inhabitants), with a noticeable decrease after 1995. The growth of the HIV+ criteria from 2000 onward was observed, reaching 30.2 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 2016. Although incidence rates still remain high in the municipality, these trends are consistent with the positive impact of early detection policies and access to clinical and therapeutic follow-up of individuals with HIV and AIDS in Campinas. When therapeutic communities (TCs) began to emerge in Brazil in the 1970s, drug policy was the concern of the justice sector and aligned with prohibitionism. In the wake of political liberalization in the late 20the century and mental health reform, policies targeting drug users have now become the concern of the health sector. As a result, two antinomic paradigms have emerged within public health management the prohibitionist paradigm and the psychosocial paradigm. The discussion of public funding of TCs is currently gaining prominence in Brazil. This raises new ethical issues concerning the limits between the public and private spheres within health governance. By exploring the role of these communities, it was possible to gain insights into their history in Brazil, their connections with religion, and the findings of TC inspection reports. The research methodology consisted of a systematic review of different data sources, including articles, books, websites, newspaper articles, TC inspection reports, and the internet. The findings show that there is a resurgence of the prohibitionist paradigm associated with religious morality, which is corroborated by researchers currently discussing policies targeting drug users. This is a qualitative study based on the theoretical-methodological assumptions of the Conversation Analysis (CA) that describes and analyzes face-to-face interactions between three nurses and seven users of primary health care services during the cytopathological test collection visits. The descriptions and analyses were based on excerpts from the audio-recorded interactions during the nursing visits and transcribed based on the CA conventions. Data microanalysis from an emic perspective allowed identifying interactional situations of (mis)alignment, (dis)affiliation, repairs, and sensitive issues, and lack of listening to specific topics by nurses while conducting visits. Thus, signs of suffering, malaise, or violence were not explored, and care was not enhanced. The study shows that the cytopathological test collection visit can be a space to listen to issues related to sexuality and investigate the presence of violence against women. The dissemination of these findings and this methodology among public health and nursing professionals may stimulate a reflection on their communicative abilities, contributing to improved quality of care in health services. This paper aims to understand the experiences of family caregivers with dependent older adults in Brazil and the consequences of caring for dependent older adults in the family caregiver's life. This is a qualitative multicenter study employing dialectical hermeneutics as a theoretical framework. In-depth interviews were conducted with 84 family caregivers in Brasília, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Fortaleza, Teresina, Porto Alegre, and Araranguá, and Manaus. The thematic analysis yielded three categories motivations for taking on the caregiving role, influences on the family caregiver's life, coping, and self-care modalities. The care assumed is influenced by affective relationships with older adults and ethical and moral responsibilities. The influences are related to the lack of preparation for caregiving, financial hardship, restricted freedom, and physical and mental health problems. Coping strategies were religion, spirituality, turn-taking between family caregivers, and learning about the tasks. Women predominate in caregiving due to cultural, ethical, and moral reasons. However, family caregivers often lack guidance and require protection and a support network.Qualitative Health research procedures that are not always applied, mainly in the analysis phase. Our objective is to present a systematized technique of step-by-step procedures for qualitative content analysis in the health field Clinical-Qualitative Content Analysis. Our proposal consider that the qualitative research applied to the field of health, can acquire a perspective analogous to clinical practice and aims to interpret meanings expressed in reports through individual interviews or statements. This analysis takes part of the Clinical-Qualitative Method. The literature review was realized through a book chapter, eight original articles and three methodological articles. The Clinical-qualitative Content Analysis technique comprises seven steps 1) Editing material for analysis; 2) Floating reading; 3) Construction of the units of analysis; 4) Construction of codes of meaning; 5) General refining of the codes and the Construction of categories; 6) Discussion; 7) Validity. The clinical-qualitative analysis presupposes and involves a critical reflection on the processes carried out at each step. This reflection is an extremely rich process, if carried out collectively and in dialogue with other researchers with some proficiency in qualitative methods. This study aimed to develop a valid and reliable scale for assessing food and nutritional insecurity, specifically in adolescents. The initial version of the scale consisted of two subscales perception of food insecurity and perception of nutritional security. The items were submitted to content analysis (n = 4) by a group of food and nutrition security experts, and semantic analysis (n = 20) by a group of adolescents conveniently sampled from the target population. After adjustments, the final version of the scale was applied to adolescent students (n = 425) aged 12 to 18 years (m = 14.32±0.96; CV = 6.7%). A two-factor model was the most appropriate after performing exploratory factor analysis. The subscales showed modest values of the alpha coefficient (0.69 and 0.60, respectively). Daily consumption of fruits, vegetables and soft drinks was significantly associated with higher scores in the food and nutrition security perception scale. Therefore, it is recommended to combine food access-based items with other aspects related to attitudes and behaviors towards healthy eating in order to achieve a more accurate picture of adolescent's needs and better guide public policies.
