There are no statistically significant differences between larger and smaller hospitals in terms of their capacity to carry out appropri-ate diagnoses or treatments in 24 hours.
Care and treatment of emerging diseases are now a sizeable percentage of the consultations at an HES. Such units generally lack specific protocols, particularly for malaria. Urgent diagnostic testing for malaria is also needed.

When the disease presents, it may appear in the form of acute abdomen and normal imaging tests, making it a major diagnostic challenge. Borussertib cell line We present four cases of acute gonococcal peritonitis. The main symptom was acute abdominal pain, and both the gy-necological examination and complementary tests showed normal results. The only notable finding from the laparoscopy was the existence of purulent ascitic fluid. The results of the anatomical and pathological tests were all normal. Endocer-vical and ascitic fluid culture showed infection with N. gonorrhoeae, and in one case, concomitant infection with Chlamydia trachomatis. The definitive treatment applied was intravenous antibiotic therapy. When a sexually active young woman is diagnosed with peritonitis that has no apparent cause, it is important to rule out sexually transmitted diseases. The presence of arthropathy in patients with acromegaly may suggest recurrence of acromegaly or the existence of an inflammatory joint disease such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Few publications have evaluated the coexistence of RA and acromegaly. Two cases were presented with a coexistence of RA and acromegalic arthopathy, which enabled us to evaluate the key factors in differential diagnoses and the implications for treatment. Diagnosis of RA in patients with acromegaly requires a high level of clinical suspicion, and should therefore be considered in cases where adequate symptom control is not achieved. Delay in the diagnosis and treatment of RA can increase joint damage and possibly worsen a patient's functional prognosis. This article is a systematic review of studies that have investigated the initial management of patients with psychiatric conditions in hospital emergencies services in order to establish practical recommendations. A systematic review of the literature was carried out, consisting of studies published from 2010 to 2020, available in any language, consulting Cochrane Library Plus, PubMed, IBECS, LILACS and MEDLINE. The quality of the studies included in this review was assessed by the AMSTAR2 tool and the FCL 3.0 platform, together with the PRISMA statement. Results from the eleven papers selected showed that improvements in staff training, available resources, appropriate use of restraint and appropriate choice of medication can help to improve the care of patients with mental pathology in hospital emergency services. The same management for any other patient is recommended. However, if the patient is agitated or uncooperative, verbal, pharmacological and/or mechanical restraint (in this order) may be necessary. Eating disorders (ED) are an increasingly prevalent problem with serious consequences for different spheres of life. This study aims to analyze nurses' perspectives and experiences of the care provided to people diagnosed with an ED.
Hermeneutical phenomenological qualitative study. Nineteen nurses from Alcalá de Henares (Madrid) collab-orated in the research sharing their experience through interviews and stories, which were recorded, transcribed and analyzed thematically.
Three issues were obtained a fight between the heart and mind, conscious reflection the body says what the head keeps silent and learning how to care holistically. Nurses experience a struggle with their feelings of transference / countertransference when caring for patients. They set out to combine skills acquired from their experience with new research, without losing sight of the individual and the factors involved (family, society and work), which are key to understand the patient's experience and recovery.
Nurses need more specialization, ongoing training, coordination and teamwork with other professionals to provide people with holistic care. Gender perspectives should be taken into account to enable care to be adapted to the needs of men and women. This study takes an in-depth look at the care relationship between nurse and patient, to obtain a hitherto unknown perspective of care, which makes it possible to expand knowledge and individualize the care provided.

Excess weight and obesity in childhood is directly related to comorbidities that can have serious conse-quences for health. This study set out to identify the main modifiable lifestyles that influence the development of excess weight and obesity in childhood.
A cross-sectional study was carried out at seven secondary schools in Area V, Murcia, Spain. Questionnaires completed by parents were used to gather information about healthy habits in adolescents (ENHASA), The surveys con-sisted of four dimensions made up of modifiable lifestyle factors nutrition, physical activity, new technologies and schoolmates. The adolescents' somatometric data was measured and classified according to the WHO categories for body mass index (BMI). ANOVA was used to compare the score differences among the BMI groups.
The questionnaire was completed by the parents of 421 adolescents with an average age of 12 years. 21.1% pre-sented excess weight and 19.7% obesity. The score obtained by adolescents in the physical activity dimension decreased in the increased BMI group (score in normal weight 6.
