There were no ossifying fibroma cases. The patients' mean age was 25.5 ± 12.9 years old. Four (57.1%) patients were males, and three (42.9%) were females, with a male/female ratio of 1.251. The most common locations were the frontal sinus and ethmoid sinus, and the two cases of fibrous dysplasia involved almost all facial bones. The endonasal endoscopic approach was chosen to treat all seven patients. Conclusions There are differences in the onset age, location, and complications postoperatively among osteoma and fibrous dysplasia patients. Osteoma most commonly occurs in the frontal sinus, while fibrous dysplasia involved all facial bones in our study. Endoscopic surgery is currently the primary strategy for treatment.Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH)-secreting pituitary adenoma is a rare case that is characterized by high or inappropriately normal thyrotropin levels along with an increase in thyroid hormones that lead, in most of the patients, to signs and symptoms similar to those of hyperthyroidism problems. Its diagnosis and management are still challenging. A 65-year-old male patient presented to the emergency department for palpitations. He was firstly misdiagnosed due to incomplete lab tests. After a full workup, he was found to have TSH-secreting pituitary adenoma and referred to trans-sphenoidal surgery for macroadenoma excision. Currently, he is maintained on somatostatin analogue and methimazole. This is the second case report of TSHoma in Lebanon with signs and symptoms of thyrotoxicosis. Usually, the clinical features of TSHomas vary between patients which makes the confirmation of diagnosis more difficult. Surgery is still the first line of treatment with the addition of encouraging effects of medical therapy consisting of somatostatin analogues. The clinical manifestations of Takayasu arteritis (TA) greatly vary, and this ultimately leads to a delay in diagnosis. We describe a case of TA presenting with two coexisting rare symptoms of linear neck pain and prolonged cough. A 28-year-old Japanese female with a six-month history of ulcerative colitis presented with recurrent left neck pain, cough, and fever. The neck pain and fever started five months ago. Her symptoms briefly improved with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug therapy, but eventually recurred one month prior to her latest presentation to the hospital, which was accompanied by a dry cough. Physical examination revealed a blood pressure discrepancy, with systolic blood pressure being >10 mmHg lower in her left arm than in her right arm, a bilateral carotid bruit, a weak left radial pulse and radio-radial delay without coolness in the upper extremities, and linear pulsatile tenderness in her left neck along the common carotid artery. No supraclavicular or infraclavicular bruit was noted. The erythrocyte sedimentation rate was elevated at 66 mm/hour. After obtaining the images from a contrast-enhanced computed tomography, she was diagnosed with TA. All her symptoms improved with prednisone therapy. Notably, neck pain and cough are both late-stage symptoms of TA, which are seen in 9.7% and 1.5% of patients, respectively. Although her unspecific symptoms could have been easily misdiagnosed, the recurring exacerbation of symptoms warranted careful attention to a focused physical examination. In conclusion, neck pain and cough are both uncommon presentations of TA, which may lead to physicians underdiagnosing it. It is important to recognize neck pain and cough as presenting complaints in patients with TA.This article continues a series of works devoted to the creation of large agent-based models, built as an artificial society, and the development of software for their implementation-the MÖBIUS design system for scalable agent-based models. The basic core of the system is a demographic model that simulates the natural movement of the population. A new stage in the development of the work discussed in this article was the creation on the basis of this core of an agent-based model of Russia, which includes families as agents of a new type, hierarchically connected with human agents. In addition, objects of a new type were introduced into the model-projects that provide for the creation in an artificial environment of analogues of complex control actions aimed at stimulating fertility. Developed on the basis of simulating the reaction of individual families to the introduced regional support measures, the model makes it possible to track their impact on key demographic indicators. The agent-based model of Russia was tested on data for a long retrospective period using the example of the launch of maternal capital programs and showed good agreement with official statistics. The prospects and problems of the development of modern genetic technologies are analyzed, and pressing issues of updating the regulatory framework for the safe use of their products are posed in this article, which is based on the materials of reports at the RAS Presidium meeting on December 7, 2021. At the end of 2018, by Presidential Decree no. 680 On the Development of Genetic Technologies in the Russian Federation, this R&D area was declared a priority. According to the authors, to expand genetic technologies in Russia, it is necessary to change the concept of their legal regulation and to bring the legislative norms in line with the current level of the development of science in this area, including the adjustment of the genetic engineering nomenclature.China's science and technology complex is considered with account for the dynamics of its development and the structure that has developed to date. Particular attention is paid to the areas that are viewed as the most promising in the course of the fourth industrial revolution; the situation in these technological areas is compared with that in the United States. In addition, the situation in the field of intellectual property in China is analyzed it is shown how the country has transformed from the main "violator" of intellectual rights into a significant player in the global market of new technologies. The problems that China faces along this path, including the phenomenon of "junk" patents, are highlighted. The prospect of creating a relatively independent technological circuit in China is assessed in the light of the general strategy proclaimed in 2021 to rely mainly on internal factors of growth and development. This article is a supplemented and updated version of the report at the meeting of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences with the participation of the leadership of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development on September 21, 2021. The authors analyze the main opportunities and risks of implementing the Strategy for the Socioeconomic Development of the Russian Federation with Low Greenhouse Gas Emissions until 2050. learn more The key role of the global climate agenda, determined by the leading countries of the world, primarily the European Union, in shaping the institutional environment that influences decision making in the field of national economic policy, is emphasized. It is argued that there is no automatic positive relationship between the race for so-called carbon neutrality of the economy by 2050, prescribed by the global climate agenda, and the achievement of the sustainable development goals set by the United Nations. Principles and approaches to reduce the risks of decarbonization of the economy are formulated. These provide for the integration of a set of measures to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions with those to adapt communities and economic systems to climate change, and harmonize the measures above with the national goals of long-term sustainable development. Estimates of the economic effects of implementation of various scenarios of the decarbonization of the national economy and the associated risks of the global energy transition for Russia are introduced.
This study aimed to assess the burnout among faculty members of King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS), Jeddah, during the COVID-19 pandemic and investigate their adaptations to online teaching.

The study utilized a survey research design, and a validated questionnaire was e-mailed to faculty members. The Maslach Burnout Inventory - Educators Survey was used to assess burnout in three domains (emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and personal accomplishment), in addition to their adaptations to online teaching.

A total of 112 faculty members completed the survey with a response rate of 25%. Females comprised 50.9% of the sample. Burnout assessment among faculty showed moderate emotional exhaustion and personal accomplishment. In contrast, the level of depersonalization was low. When assessing the impact of the shift to online education during the pandemic, 87.5% of the respondents reported increased confidence in online teaching and learning effectiveness.

Faculty members at KSAU-HS reported moderate emotional exhaustion. Fortunately, this had a moderate impact on students' intellectual development and well-being. Most of the faculty feedback supported online teaching during the pandemic.

This is an interesting approach because variations of the object recognition tasks focus on different aspects of the memory events such as novelty, location, context, and combinations of these elements. Nevertheless, as in most animal neuroscience research, female subjects are underrepresented in object recognition studies. When studies include females, the particularities of this sex are not always considered. For example, appropriate controls for manipulations conducted exclusively in females (such as estrous cycle verification) are not included. In addition, interpretation of data is often based on standardizations conducted with male subjects. Despite that, females are frequently reported as deficient and unable to adequately perform some memory tests. Thus, our study aims to review studies that describe similarities and differences between male and female performances in the different variations of object recognition tasks. In summary, although females are commonly described with deficits and the articles emphasize sex differences, most published data reveal similar performances when sexes are compared.Estimates of the duration of time intervals and other magnitudes exhibit characteristic biases that likely result from error minimization strategies. To investigate such phenomena, magnitude reproduction tasks are used with humans and other primates. However, such behavioral tasks do not exist for rodents, one of the most important animal orders for neuroscience. We, therefore, developed a time reproduction task that can be used with rodents. It involves an animal reproducing the duration of a timed visual stimulus by walking along a corridor. The task was implemented in virtual reality, which allowed us to ensure that the animals were actually estimating time. The hallway did not contain prominent spatial cues and movement could be de-correlated from optic flow, such that the animals could not learn a mapping between stimulus duration and covered distance. We tested the reproduction of durations of several seconds in three different stimulus ranges. The gerbils reproduced the durations with a precision similar to experiments on humans.
