Adaptive Mechanisms associated with Halophytes as well as their Prospective within Bettering Salinity Threshold throughout Plant life.
teaching methodologies had important effects on social responsibility of a large number of students. As there could be a selection bias among respondents, more research is needed to understand the impact of GH educational experiences. The inclusion of global health education in health and social curricula and the use of interactive methodologies with a correct evaluation of results are the indications that emerge from this research, together with the necessity of a strong involvement of students, professors and the whole academic reality. The COVID-19 outbreak from the SARS-CoV-2 virus has shocking us with its fast transmission and deadly complication. Due to that, the movement restriction has been enforced to contain this pandemic. Recently, there is an increasing pressure to restart and resurrect social and economic sectors, and to allow people to get back to work. This must be well planned before the movement restriction is lifted. Because of that, this paper aims to review and make recommendations on the new normal for our daily activities and works. Firstly, the social and economic sectors must be opening in phases by emphasizing safety and health than an economic recovery. In the meantime, the WHO recommendations on social distancing and personal hygiene must be adapted and become a new normal. Because of that, the government and local authorities should develop a soft landing approach based on the WHO recommendations. #link# Next, the community must be engaged and empowered to do their parts in preventing the spread of COVID-19. From the new normal recommendations, the people can continue their daily routines, and at the same time can reduce COVID-19 transmission. However, medical possibilities are not considered while compiling these new normals and procedures. The population must adapt and embrace the new normal to control, reduce and prevent the spreading of COVID-19, as it could be with us for a long time.
Bronchoplasty is widely accepted as a standard technique with a high degree of difficulty in maintaining a surgical margin for non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The key to the success of the bronchial anastomosis is both tension and the blood flow. However, local tension is inconsistent with blood distribution.

Operative finding of the right upper bronchoplasty after chemoradiotherapyshowed clear green staining of the upper bronchus, and afterwards, a membranous area of the truncus intermedius. The blood supply of the bronchial anastomosis judged to be enough.

Indocyanine green imaging (ICG) can help a scheduled operation be performed safely, especially in extreme situations where there is concern about the blood supply during bronchoplasty.

This report describes a first case concerning the blood distribution of the bronchial anastomosis for bronchoplasty after induction therapy under fluorescence navigation.

The best approach for simultaneous repair of bilateral inguinal hernia is controversial. The aim of this study is to compare the outcomes after laparoscopic versus open mesh repair of bilateral primary inguinal hernia.

this prospective study included 180 patients with bilateral primary inguinal hernia; randomized by sealed envelopes into 3 groups; each includes 60 patients. Group I treated by laparoscopic trans-abdominal pre-peritoneal (TAPP) repair using 2 separate meshes, Group II treated by open pre-peritoneal (PP) single mesh repair, while Group III treated by bilateral Lichtenstein repair.

In comparison to open PP and bilateral Lichtenstein repair, Laparoscopic TAPP repair had significantly longer operative time and superior early postoperative outcomes including significantly less postoperative pain, hospital stay, time till return to normal activity and to work. read more and mesh sensation was lower in Laparoscopic TAPP group with significantly higher satisfaction rate compared to open groups. No significant difference between study groups in 3 years recurrence rate.

Simultaneous laparoscopic TAPP repair of uncomplicated primary bilateral inguinal hernia has superior early postoperative outcome, less chronic pain and higher patients' satisfaction rate compared to open approaches with similar low recurrence rate.

Acute appendicitis remains difficult-to-diagnose in spite of being a common acute abdominal condition. Early and correct diagnosis is essential either to proceed with early appendectomy or conservative approach so that complications and negative explorations can be minimised. Scoring systems can help in quick diagnosis and decision making. Though the Alvarado scoring is the widely used system, differences in diagnostic accuracy have been observed when it is applied to varied populations.

The objective was to find the predictive accuracy of Modified Alvarado score, Appendicitis Inflammatory Response score and Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Appendicitis score, in a diagnostic test evaluation study. link2 From first January 2018 to first January 2019, 107 consecutive patients admitted with a diagnosis of suspected appendicitis were assessed with these scores. Sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive value, positive and negative likelihood ratio and area under curve were determined for each.

No. Also, both these scores can be easily calculated by complete history, detailed clinical examination and basic laboratory investigations.
Appendicitis Inflammatory Response score probably is superior to Alvarado in the paediatric population because the variables scored are easy to apply to children, while Alvarado requires children to identify subjective symptoms which may not always be accurate. Appendicitis Inflammatory Response and Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Appendicitis are better diagnostic scoring system for acute appendicitis than Modified Alvarado. Also, both these scores can be easily calculated by complete history, detailed clinical examination and basic laboratory investigations.Optical nanoantennas can convert propagating light to local fields. The local-field responses can be engineered to exhibit nontrivial features in spatial, spectral and temporal domains, where local-field interferences play a key role. Here, we design nearly fully controllable local-field interferences in the nanogap of a nanoantenna, and experimentally demonstrate that in the nanogap, the spectral dispersion of the local-field response can exhibit tuneable Fano lineshapes with nearly vanishing Fano dips. A single quantum dot is precisely positioned in the nanogap to probe the spectral dispersions of the local-field responses. By controlling the excitation polarization, the asymmetry parameter q of the probed Fano lineshapes can be tuned from negative to positive values, and correspondingly, the Fano dips can be tuned across a broad spectral range. Notably, at the Fano dips, the local-field intensity is strongly suppressed by up to ~50-fold, implying that the hot spot in the nanogap can be turned into a cold spot. The results may inspire diverse designs of local-field responses with novel spatial distributions, spectral dispersions and temporal dynamics, and expand the available toolbox for nanoscopy, spectroscopy, nano-optical quantum control and nanolithography. In optical microscopy, the slow axial scanning rate of the objective or the sample has traditionally limited the speed of volumetric imaging. Recently, by conjugating either a movable mirror to the image plane in a remote-focusing geometry or an electrically tuneable lens (ETL) to the back focal plane, rapid axial scanning has been achieved. However, mechanical actuation of a mirror limits the axial scanning rate (usually only 10-100 Hz for piezoelectric or voice coil-based actuators), while ETLs introduce spherical and higher-order aberrations that prevent high-resolution imaging. In an effort to overcome these limitations, we introduce a novel optical design that transforms a lateral-scan motion into a spherical aberration-free axial scan that can be used for high-resolution imaging. Using a galvanometric mirror, we scan a laser beam laterally in a remote-focusing arm, which is then back-reflected from different heights of a mirror in the image space. We characterize the optical performance of this remote-focusing technique and use it to accelerate axially swept light-sheet microscopy by an order of magnitude, allowing the quantification of rapid vesicular dynamics in three dimensions. We also demonstrate resonant remote focusing at 12 kHz with a two-photon raster-scanning microscope, which allows rapid imaging of brain tissues and zebrafish cardiac dynamics with diffraction-limited resolution. Background Although iron chelation therapies have been available for many years for thalassemia intermedia patients, iron accumulation remains the major cause of death. Therefore, the need for additional chelation options is in demand. This randomized controlled study aimed to understand the effects of green tea on iron balance in thalassemia intermedia patients. Methods Using a random selection method, 141 thalassemia intermedia patients were initially screened for inclusion in this trial; only 68 patients included after applying exclusion criteria. Two equal groups were generated (n=34/group) green tea (three cups/day after meals) + usual treatment (deferasirox iron chelator and on demand blood transfusion); and control (only usual treatment). The study lasted for a period of 12 months. Patients failing to comply to the trial methodology were excluded, leaving a final total of 29 patients in the green tea group and 28 patients in the control group. Liver iron concentration, and serum ferritin were assessed at baseline and 12 months, while hemoglobin levels were assessed monthly. Results At baseline, both groups were matched regarding general demographics. At 12 months, the net drop of liver iron concentration in the green tea group (7.3 mg Fe/g dry weight) was significantly higher than the control group (4.6 mg Fe/g dry weight) (p less then 0.05). link3 This was also seen with serum ferritin; net reduction in green tea and control groups were 1289 ng/ml and 871 ng/ml, respectively (p less then 0.05). Hemoglobin levels were slightly higher in the green tea group compared with the control group, but this was not significant. Conclusions Regular green tea consumption had a significant capability to improve iron deposition in thalassemia intermedia patients who already undergo deferesirox iron chelation therapy. Because of the high complexity of gut microbes, many microbes remain unclassified. Deciphering the role of each bacteria in health and diseases is only possible after its culture, identification, and characterization. During the culturomics study of feral chicken cecal sample, we cultured a possible novel strain SW165 T. Methods For the possible novel strain SW165 T, phenotypic characterization was performed using colony morphology, Gram staining, growth in different temperature and pH and motility. Biochemical assays included carbon source utilization, enzymatic activity, cellular fatty acids and short chain fatty acid production. 16S rRNA sequencing and whole genome sequencing and comparison was performed for genetic analysis. Results This strain was isolated from cecal content of feral chickens in Brookings, South Dakota, USA. Phylogenetic analyses based on 16S rRNA gene sequence revealed that the closest valid neighbor was Olsenella profusa DSM 13989 T (96.
