The relatively recent development of anti-CT Receptor antibodies that bind separate epitopes on the CT a Receptor and CT b Receptor isoforms has advanced our knowledge and understanding of these events. CT Receptor at the protein level is upregulated in programmed cell death including apoptosis (as described in a previous publication) and autophagy, which is discussed in our upcoming, unpublished review. Overall, these observations and the methods that underpin them have contributed to our understanding of the widespread expression of CT Receptor isoforms.Background Both oxytocin and carbetocin are used to prevent uterine atony and post-partum haemorrhage after caesarean delivery in many countries, including Norway. Oxytocin causes dose-dependent ST-depression, troponin release, prolongation of QT-time and arrythmia, but little is known about myocardial effects of carbetocin. We have previously demonstrated comparable vasodilatory effects of oxytocin and carbetocin and are now undertaking a Phase 4 trial to investigate whether carbetocin causes similar changes to myocardial markers compared with oxytocin. Methods Our randomized controlled trial will be conducted at three obstetrics units at Oslo University Hospital and Akershus University Hospital, Norway. Planned enrolment will be of 240 healthy, singleton pregnant women aged 18 to 50 years undergoing planned caesarean delivery. Based on pilot study data, each participant will receive a one-minute intravenous injection of either oxytocin 2.5 IU or carbetocin 100 µg during caesarean delivery. The prespecified carbetocin will help inform treatment decisions for pregnant women. However, there is a lack of applications that can offer accurate predictions of asthma exacerbation using the weather triggers and demographic characteristics to give tailored response to users. This paper proposes an optimised Deep Neural Network Regression (DNNR) model to predict asthma exacerbation based on personalised weather triggers. Methods - With the aim of integrating weather, demography, and asthma tracking, an mHealth application was developed where users conduct the Asthma Control Test (ACT) to identify the chances of their asthma exacerbation. The asthma dataset consists of panel data from 10 users that includes 1010 ACT scores as the target output. Moreover, the dataset contains 10 input features which include five weather features (temperature, humidity, air-pressure, UV-index, wind-speed) and five demography features (age, gender, outdoor-job, outdoor-activities, location). Autonomous banking solutions must incorporate on-the-fly processing for risky transactions to create this value. In an autonomous environment, access control with role and trust delegation has been said to be highly relevant. The aim of this research is to provide an end to end working solution that will enable autonomous transaction and task processing for banking. Method We illustrate the use case for task delegation with the aid of risk graphs, risk bands and finite state machines. This paper also highlights a step by step task delegation process using a risk ordering relation methodology that can be embedded into smart contracts. Results Task delegation with risk ordering relation is illustrated with six process owners that share immutable ledgers. Task delegation properties using Multi Agent Systems (MAS) is used to eliminate barriers for autonomous transaction processing. Medellín is one of the most polluted cities in the region, with a population growth rate that is twice as high as that of other Colombian cities, which implies a growing population at risk. Methods A descriptive study of the disease burden was carried out using the city as the unit of observation. Health events were selected based on epidemiologic evidence and the availability of the population attributable fraction associated with PM 2.5. The mortality records were taken from the module of deceased of the Single Registry of Affiliates of the Health System; the morbidity records were taken from the Individual Health Services Registries. For the estimation of the burden of disease, the current Global Burden of Disease guidelines were followed. Results Attributable disability-adjusted life years to exposure to ambient PM 2.5 pollution (DALYs PM2.5) constituted 13.8% of total burden of the city. Males showed the greatest loss of DALYs PM2.5 due to acute events, while in women the greatest loss was due to chronic events. Ischemic heart disease, chronic diseases of the lower respiratory tract, and influenza and pneumonia were the events that contributed the most to DALYs PM2.5. 71.4% of the DALYs PM2.5 corresponded to mortality, mainly in the population over 65 years of age. Regarding attributable morbidity, acute events were more prevalent in both sexes, especially due to respiratory diseases Conclusion Premature death among the elderly population has the greatest weight on burden of disease attributable to ambient PM 2.5 pollution, mainly due to respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, without significant differences according to gender.This study aimed to clarify the mechanism of propofol on proliferation and apoptosis of colorectal cancer (CRC) cell. SW620 and HCT15 cells were exposed to different concentrations of propofol, the proliferation and apoptotic rate, were measured by MTT, colony formation and flow cytometry assays, respectively. The expressions of miR-1-3p and insulin-like growth factors 1 (IGF1) were examined by real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). Western bolt was employed to quantify the protein levels of IGF1 and apoptotic proteins. The molecular interaction between miR-1-3p and IGF1 was validated using dual-luciferase reporter assay. A xenograft tumor model was established to further assess the effects of propofol on CRC in vivo. Propofol dramatically decreased the proliferation and elevated apoptotic rate of CRC cells. RT-qPCR assay demonstrated that miR-1-3p was downregulated in CRC cells, and could be strikingly increased by propofol. Importantly, miR-1-3p inhibited IGF-1 expression through interacting with its 3'-UTR region, thus inactivating AKT/mTOR signals. Gain or loss of functional study revealed that miR-1-3p downregulation remarkedly diminished the anti-tumor roles of propofol by directly inhibiting IGF1. In vivo study showed that propofol inhibited tumor growth by regulating miR-1-3p/IGF1 axis. Our data eventually elucidated that propofol suppressed CRC progression by promoting miR-1-3p which targeted IGF1. These results might provide a scientific basis for the application of propofol on the clinical surgery and the prognosis of patients with CRC.The increasing environmental concerns due to anthropogenic CO2 emissions have called for an alternate sustainable source to fulfill rising chemical and energy demands and reduce environmental problems. The thermo-catalytic activation and conversion of abundantly available CO2, a thermodynamically stable and kinetically inert molecule, can significantly pave the way to sustainably produce chemicals and fuels and mitigate the additional CO2 load. link3 This can be done through comprehensive knowledge and understanding of catalyst behavior, reaction kinetics, and reactor design. This review aims to catalog and summarize the advances in the experimental and theoretical approaches for CO2 activation and conversion to C1 products via heterogeneous catalytic routes. To this aim, we analyze the current literature works describing experimental analyses (e.g., catalyst characterization and kinetics measurement) as well as computational studies (e.g., microkinetic modeling and first-principles calculations). The catalytic reactions of CO2 activation and conversion reviewed in detail are (i) reverse water-gas shift (RWGS), (ii) CO2 methanation, (iii) CO2 hydrogenation to methanol, and (iv) dry reforming of methane (DRM).
