The research material involved rumen content and rumen fluid, which were collected in the autumn-winter season, from eight adult males of roe deer with an average body mass of 22.6 kg. The microscopic analysis demonstrated that there were only protozoa in 50% of the animals sampled. Qualitative analysis revealed the presence of protozoa belonging to the genus Entodinium. The density of protozoal population varied from 6.5 to 38.7 × 105/mL rumen fluid. The analysis of bacteria composition indicated that protozoa did not have an effect on bacterial diversity. Furthermore, the results of hydrolytic activity revealed that the fastest digestion of carbohydrates was for pectin, while the slowest was inulin. The pH and redox potential in the rumen varied from 5.9 to 6.1 and from -248.1 to -251.1 mV, respectively. In summary, the presence of protozoa in the rumen of wild roe deer does not have an effect on the bacterial population and has no effect on the digestion rate of carbohydrates in the rumen.This article covers new application for char as a carrier of phase-change materials (PCM) that could be used as an additive to building materials. Being composed of bio-char and PCM, the granulate successfully competes with more expensive commercial materials of this type, such as Micronal® PCM. As a PCM carrier, char that was obtained from the pyrolysis of chestnut fruit (Aesculus hippocastanum) with different absorbances of the model phase-change material, Rubitherm RT22, was tested. DSC analysis elucidated several thermal properties (such as enthalpy, phase transition temperature, and temperature peak) of those mixtures and the results were compared with a commercial equivalent, Micronal DS 5040 X. Comparative research, approximating realistic conditions, were also performed by cooling and heating samples in a form of coatings that were made from chars with different content of RT22. These results indicated that the use of char as a PCM carrier was not only possible, but also beneficial from a thermodynamic point of view and it could serve as an alternative to commercial products. In this case, adsorption RT22 into char allowed for temperature stabilization comparable to Micronal DS 5040 X with ease of use as well as the economic advantages of being very low cost to produce due to microencapsulation. Other advantage of the proposed solution is related with the application of char obtained from waste biomass pyrolysis as a PCM carrier, and using this product in building construction to improve thermal comfort and increase energy efficiency.Nuclear Receptor Subfamily 2 Group F Member 2 (NR2F2) is a member of the steroid/thyroid hormone receptor superfamily with a crucial role in organogenesis, angiogenesis, cardiovascular development and tumorigenesis. However, there is limited knowledge about the cistrome and transcriptome of NR2F2 in breast cancer. In this study, we mapped the regulatory mechanism by NR2F2 using functional genomic methods. To investigate the clinical significance of NR2F2 in breast cancer, The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) data were used. These results show that a high NR2F2 is associated with better survival of a specific subset of patients, namely those with luminal A breast cancer. Therefore, genome-wide NR2F2 and estrogen receptor alpha (ERα) binding sites were mapped in luminal A breast cancer cells using chromatin immunoprecipitation followed by high-throughput sequencing (ChIP-Seq), revealing that most NR2F2 overlap with ERα that are co-occupied by forkhead box A1 (FOXA1) and GATA binding protein 3 (GATA3) in active enhancer regions. NR2F2 overlaps with highly frequent ERα chromatin interactions, which are essential for the formation of ERα-bound super-enhancers. In the process of the transcriptome profiling of NR2F2-depleted breast cancer cells such differentially expressed genes have been identified that are involved in endocrine therapy resistance and are also ERα target genes. Overall, these findings demonstrate that the NR2F2 nuclear receptor has a key role in ERα-mediated transcription and it can offer a potential therapeutic target in patients with luminal A breast cancer.The efficacy of nintedanib treatment in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) was demonstrated in phase III trials. However, there is limited data on the significance of nintedanib in elderly patients aged ≥75 years. Bimiralisib We have retrospectively evaluated 54 newly nintedanib-treated patients including 32 elderly individuals. Potential changes in modified medical research council (mMRC) grade and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) assessment test (CAT) score, as well as in forced vital capacity (FVC) were obtained 6 months before, at the time of, and 6 and 12 months after initiation of nintedanib treatment. Significant differences were observed in CAT scores between 6 months before treatment and baseline (p less then 0.001), and between baseline and 6 months (p less then 0.001) and 12 months (p less then 0.001) after treatment. If subjective improvement is defined as an improvement in mMRC grade or CAT score by 1 or 3 points, respectively, 25 patients (46.3%) have significantly improved after 6 months of treatment. Out of these, all have improved in CAT score. The tolerability of nintedanib was similar in elderly and younger patients. These findings suggest that CAT scores could be useful in the subjective assessment during nintedanib treatment, and that nintedanib is safe and efficient for the treatment of the elderly population.
