N: everything started on that one rainy day, mr dudut. before i even had the chance to knock on the door in front of me, a familiar loud voice suddenly called out from inside.

mom: Hey ----, genesis! why dont you get up on your ass and help me prepare for dinner?
genesis: mom do i have to? i mean, im just getting comfortable now on the couchhhh
mom: dont get me started with that attitude, missy. get on here now!!
dad: now now, dont be too hard on my daughter. genesis go help out your mom there.
genesis: you should too, dad!
dad: fine fine

N: I laughed as i listen on their conversation. it made me feel so nostalgic about the past.
N: after a minute, i decided to knock on the door, expecting the worst and hoping for the best. i would be lying mr dudut if i were to say im not scared that time.
knock knock*
genesis: whos there?
Dad: dear? whos there? you suddenly went silent
Genesis: uhm you two should probably get here
Mom: come on, just tell us-
(NAHULOG NA TUNOG, HAWAK HAWAK NI MOM)
Mom: hugh? is that you?
Dad: you guys, stop kiddi-oh its... hugh.
Hugh: uhh dad.. uhm.. hi?
N: I felt a mix of shame and excitement as i entered the door, still looking at their puzzled expressions. im also confused myself on how i should act that time, mr. dudut.
(sound of door closing)
Mom: hugh is that really you? (runs towards hugh)
hugh: mom its m-t
dad: WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU DOING HERE? ( low voice of mom stopping dad)
hugh: dad let me explain-
Dad: after everything we have went through because of you jerk, you still want us to hear you? seriously after everything??
Genesis: dad, please. listen first. hes still your son.
Dad: yes! he's my son, but did he consider me as his father? As he continued to ruin the family we have built, has he thought of us? you left us with wonders for 5 years, and you came back as if nothing happened, what are you expecting to happen? (DAD VOICE CRACKING UP)
N: I felt so ashamed as my father slap those words on my face. Everything he said is true, mr. dudut. But i have decided that i must come back and set things out right.
Mom: hugh, go on, ill take care of your father
Dad: i dont take a drug abuser as my son. The moment you decided to drown yourself with alcohol and pleasure is the last straw of our relationship.
Mom: hugh! we gave you everything! we gave you an opportunity to have a succesful life, but did you not throw everything away?
hugh: but did you guys asked me if that's i want? yes, you gave me everything, but at what cost? To block off my freedom and erase who i really am?
Genesis: hugh's got a point, mom. I witnessed it myself, how you guys compressed him and made him obey everything.
Dad: That does not justify what he did. seriously, drugs? isnt it ironic how a police man have a son who has fallen into that life? You have always been a disgrace and a dissapointment on our family!
hugh: wow.. dissapointment? disgrace? i obeyed and accomplished everything you told me. i crumbled on other people just to achieve those fucking worthless medals, ribbon, and trophies. and now youre telling me i have always been a dissapointment? i did my best, pressured myself, and starved my body just to bring out the embodiment of perfection you guys wish for. but it seems in the end, i will always be a rotten egg on your eyes. i sacrificed a lot of things too? did you guys ever questioned yourself what made me turn out this way?-
dad: so? what are you implying? its our fault that we wished for the best for you?
hugh: ITS YOUR FAULT TO WISH THAT I SHOULD BE A COPY OF YOU, THAT YOU COMPARED ME TO OTHERS, AND THAT YOU TURNED A BLIND EYE ON MY SUFFERINGS JUS-JUST TO MAINTAIN YOUR OWN IMAGE.
N:Every word and emotion I had kept inside me as a child flew out of me, Mr. Dudut. I felt like I was finally breaking free from the weight I had carried for so long as i let my heart do the talk.
Hugh: why? i know that i failed and wronged you when i turned out as an addict. but is it that easy to forget my existense?
mom: hugh i-
dad: hugh thats not what we meant-
hugh: all my life-all my life i just wished that you guys would appreciate everything im doing. that you would see me as a son and not as a tool. do you think i want to turn out this way? if i dont regret it, would i even come back?
Genesis: brother
hugh: i just miss all of you. i felt so regretful to waste my life just like that. i just want to see all of you and to feel that i have a place i can cling on to. is it too much of me to ask?
(hugging timee)
mom: no, my dear. im sorry, im sorry for everything we've caused you. its my fault for overlooking my eldest. im sorry for not being a mother you can cling on to.
hugh: im sorry too, mom. im sorry.. (continues to sob)
hugh: dad?...
(hugs)
hugh: dad.. i-im sorry, i-i dissapointed you so much (basta very sobbing voice niya)
dad: shhhh. im sorry, my son. i went too far. i failed as your dad. i failed to protect you, i became the sole reason of your suffering.
genesis: seriously ( laughing voice but is already cracking up)
(loud bang)
hugh: huh? whats that? mom? dad? where are you? genesis? but.. they're just here earlier.. (more sound) wait, whats happening? wait! mom! dad! genesis! whats happening?
