Diet treatments for much better control over weak bones: A synopsis.
The development of brain metastases occurs in 10-20% of all patients with cancer. Brain metastases portend poor survival and contribute to increased cancer mortality and morbidity. Despite multimodal treatment options, which include surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, 5-year survival remains low. Besides, our current treatment modalities can have significant neurological comorbidities, which result in neurocognitive decline and a decrease in a patient's quality of life. However, innovations in technology, improved understanding of tumor biology, and new therapeutic options have led to improved patient care. Novel approaches in radiotherapy are minimizing the neurocognitive decline while providing the same therapeutic benefit. In addition, advances in targeted therapies and immune checkpoint inhibitors are redefining the management of lung and melanoma brain metastases. Similar approaches to brain metastases from other primary tumors promise to lead to new and effective therapies. We are beginning to understand the appropriate combination of these novel approaches with our traditional treatment options. As advances in basic and translational science and innovative technologies enter clinical practice, the prognosis of patients with brain metastases will continue to improve.Snakes of the genus Lachesis, commonly known as bushmasters, are the largest venomous snakes in the Americas. Because these snakes have their habitats in areas of remote forests they are difficult to find, and consequently there are few studies of Lachesis taxa in their natural ecosystems. Bushmasters are distributed in tropical forest areas of South and Central America. In Brazil they can be found in the Amazon Rainforest and the Atlantic Forest. Despite the low incidence of cases, laquetic envenoming causes severe permanent sequelae due to the high amount of inoculated venom. These accidents are characterized by local pain, hemorrhage and myonecrosis that can be confused with bothropic envenomings. However, victims of Lachesis bites develop symptoms characteristic of Lachesis envenoming, known as vagal syndrome. An important message of this bibliographic synthesis exercise is that, despite having the proteomic profiles of all the taxa of the genus available, very few structure-function correlation studies have been carried out. Therefore the motivation for this review was to fill a gap in the literature on the genus Lachesis, about which there is no recent review. Here we discuss data scattered in a number of original articles published in specialized journals, spanning the evolutionary history and extant phylogeographic distribution of the bushmasters, their venom composition and diet, as well as the pathophysiology of their bites to humans and the biological activities and possible biotechnological applicability of their venom toxins.CircRNA (circular RNA) is a kind of closed circular structure of noncoding RNA molecules without 5' hat structure and 3' polyA, mainly located in the cytoplasm or stored in exosomes. The provision of high-quality family planning (FP) counseling can both enhance clients' experience of care and improve their ability to make and act on their contraceptive decisions. The Interpersonal Quality of Family Planning (IQFP) scale measures FP counseling quality and has been validated in the United States. We aimed to explore whether it remains appropriate for use in a low-/middle-income country (LMIC).

We surveyed 1201 nonsterilized married women ages 18-29 in Maharashtra, India, between September 2018 and June 2019. Respondents rated their FP provider from "poor" (1) to "excellent" (5) across 11 IQFP items. We assessed scale reliability via Cronbach's
test and used exploratory factor analysis to evaluate unidimensionality and regression models of plausibly related outcomes to assess construct validity.

Five hundred four women (42%) had seen an FP provider within the past year, 491 (97%) of whom answered all items. Mean IQFP score was 2.62 out of 5 (SD 0.94, range 1-5). Scale reliability wa-income countries to better measure the quality of family planning care provided.
The Interpersonal Quality of Family Planning scale is a useful tool in rural India, a different context than the one in which it was developed. Use of the IQFP scale should be considered in other low-/middle-income countries to better measure the quality of family planning care provided.Rift Valley fever (RVF) poses a threat to human and animal health as well as economic losses due to abortion, new-born teratogenic effect and mortality. Safe and effective vaccines are critically needed to prevent the disease in humans and livestock. The objective of this study was to assess safety and immunogenicity of the Rift Valley fever virus (RVFV) arMP-12DNSm21/384 attenuated vaccine in 32 pregnant ewes at different stages of pregnancy including 17 ewes vaccinated during the early stage (G1) of pregnancy (35 days). Ewes were monitored for clinical observations, rectal temperature and abortions and lambs were monitored for general health and rectal temperature. Vaccinated ewes and lambs were periodically sampled for their neutralizing antibody response to RVFV vaccination. All ewes were positive for antibody two weeks post-vaccination and 79% of ewes were positive at delivery. None of the 32 ewes aborted during pregnancy and all ewes vaccinated during the G2 stages of pregnancy gave birth to healthy lambs. However, among the 17 ewes vaccinated during the G1 stage of pregnancy, 2 ewes gave birth to 2 lambs with fore limb malformations that died at 1-day of age. One ewe gave birth to 2 punny twins that died at 2 days of age. Another ewe, gave birth to one lamb with a deformed tail that died at 20 days of age. At post-mortem, tissues of dead lambs (spleen, lung, brain and long bone) were negative for RVFV by PCR assay. While the findings did not link the malformed lambs directly to infection by the vaccine virus, these results indicated that pregnant sheep should not be vaccinated with the RVFV arMP-12DNSm21/384 vaccine during the first month of gestation.
