Interactome of these compounds with thirteen target proteins involved in type 2 diabetes mellitus was performed in-silico. In total, 312 bioactive compounds/protein interaction analyses were acquired. Molecular docking results highlighted that nine of the top ten interactions correspond to anthocyanins, cyanidin 3-glucoside with 11β-HS, GFAT, PPARG; delphinidin 3-glucoside with 11β-HS, GFAT, PTP and RTKs; and petunidin 3-glucoside with 11β-HS and PTP. These proteins are involved in mechanisms regulating functions such as inflammation, insulin resistance, oxidative stress, glucose and lipid metabolism. In conclusion, this work provides a prediction of the potential molecular mechanism of black bean and blue corn polyphenols, specifically anthocyanins and could constitute new pathways by which compounds exert their antidiabetic benefits. © 2020 The Authors. Although burns are common in Kenya, the mortality and morbidity patterns are yet to be well studied and documented comprehensively. Objective To evaluate burn clinical patterns, early outcomes and their associations among patients admitted with burn injuries at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH). Methods A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted at MTRH between January 2016 and June 2017. A total of 189 patients admitted to the hospital with burns were recruited into the study. An interviewer-administered structured questionnaire and chart reviews were used to collect data on sociodemographic variables, burn clinical characteristics and early burn outcomes. Associations between patient characteristics and early burn outcomes were assessed by multivariable logistic regression. Results Of the 182 burn patients whose data was analyzed, the median age was 2.4 yulnerable persons. Timely hospital intervention would also reduce burn complications as well as length of hospital stay. © 2020 The Author(s).Several research studies have been performed to minimise the hygroscopicity of ammonium nitrate for increasing its commercial value and decreasing the nitrogen content. In this study, the hygroscopicity of ammonium nitrate was reduced using silicic acid, calcium lignosulfonate, and sodium silicate in the two-stage vacuum ammonium nitrate production process. Degradation of ammonium nitrate was observed after two years of storage, which is considered a standard by the European Fertilizer Manufacturers Association. © 2020 The Author. This longitudinal study examined the effect of the Visual Memory Development Technique (VMDT) on the motivation of students with low proficiency to read in the EFL context. The sample population consisted of 64 Preparatory Year (PY) students at Najran University. All 64 students were given the Motivation for Reading in English Questionnaire (MREQ) to measure their motivation to read prior to the treatment (VMDT). The 64 students were divided into an experimental and a control group. Both groups received instructions for reading with their traditional remedial materials, but the experimental group's instruction was supplemented by the addition of the VMDT at the beginning of each reading class for twelve lessons over a six-week period. An exit slip was given to the students at the end of each lesson. After six weeks, the MREQ was administered to both groups to measure the change in the students' motivation to read in the English language. The results of the quantitative tool (MREQ) were analyzed via SPSS (Ver.16) and Excel (Ver. 2013), and the findings of the qualitative tools (experimentation and exit slips) were collected and analyzed using a thematic approach. The post-test result for the MREQ showed a significant difference in students' motivations (F = 10, 21, p less then 05). C646 supplier Based on the results, the students in the reading group that was given the VMDT at the beginning of the class showed increased motivation to read in the English language inside the classroom; suggestions and pedagogical implications are presented accordingly. © 2020 The Author(s).The #MeToo movement is among the most impressive social movements of recent years that have attracted stakeholders' attention and changed social mindsets. The present study seeks to provide a deeper understanding of the challenges involved in the #MeToo movement by identifying the main issues regarding business and marketing activities. To this end, the analysis of user-generated content (UGC) on Twitter was performed to extract the tweets with the hashtag "#MeToo" (31,305 tweets). Then, a Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) model was applied to this database to identify topics. In the next step, using a Supervised Vector Machine (SVM) type analysis, we classified the tweets according to the sentiment they express (positive, negative, and neutral). Finally, we performed data text mining using the NVivo software. Our findings underscore the importance of (i) gender equality in communication campaigns, (ii) gender equality at work and (iii) social mobilizations in social networks, as well as suggest that (iv) marketing advertisers should become more inclusive and respectful in their advertising and marketing campaigns. The identified topics may be a starting point for future research on social movements, sociology, sexuality, or machismo in work environment, business and marketing strategies. © 2020 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd.Thermal stress development in materials could lead to structural failure in engineering applications. Carbon-fiber reinforced polymer composite (CFRP) have gained wide acceptance in the manufacturing industry. However, its thermo-elastic behaviour at elevated temperatures still remains an open question. Heat transfer analysis coupled with material layer-wise arrangement technique of the CFRP was implemented to investigate the thermo-elastic behaviour of these composites. A finite element model (FEM) was built and studied using COMSOL Multiphysics software. The heat energy applied in the simulation was sourced from a heat beam model. The deposited beam power was varied from 10 to 200W, and focused at the centre of the laminate ( y p = 0.15 m). The laminates considered were made up of six layers with distinctly different stacking sequences. The thermal stresses and strains obtained from the finite element analysis were assessed to observe the material's behaviour when subjected to increasing thermal load. Results revealed that thermal stresses are intense along fiber-direction of the composite laminates.
