Neutrophilic dermatoses (ND) are a heterogenous group of diseases with often relatively similar histological appearance.

The aim of this study is to identify a combination of biomarkers allowing a better differentiation of ND.

Biopsies were obtained from normal human skin (NS, n=4), chronic plaque-type psoriasis (PSO, n=7), paradoxical psoriasis (PP, n=8), generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP, n=9), subcorneal pustular dermatosis of Sneddon-Wilkinson (SPD, n=3), acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP, n=3), hidradenitis suppurativa (HS, n=7), Sweet syndrome (SS, n=8), and pyoderma gangraenosum (PG, n=8). Samples were analysed by immunofluorescence using 3 biomarkers, IL-17E, iNOS and Arginase1, each one in combination with 2 cell markers, MPO and CD68, which allow the identification of neutrophils and macrophages, respectively.

SS is characterized by high expression of IL-17E and iNOS in the epidermis, while PG exhibits low expression. The neutrophil infiltrate helps to differentiate PP (high differentiation of ND in clinical routine.

Evidence suggests that sensitivity to sensory input may not be limited to migraine attacks but continues between them. However, there is a need to better understand whether this is the case across senses, and to clearly distinguish sensory experience from measured sensory threshold, which are not straightforwardly related. Previous literature also indicates a co-occurrence between sensory sensitivity, migraine, and anxiety, but this relationship remains to be fully elucidated.

The present cross-sectional study used online questionnaires to investigate how self-reported sensory experiences relate to migraine in a large community sample including 117 individuals with probable migraine and 827 without. Mediation analyses were also used to determine whether any relationship between migraine and sensory sensitivity was mediated by anxietys relationship; however, sensory sensitivities appear to exist independent of this affective influence. It is important to foster social participation and health equity, especially for older adults in situations of vulnerability. Despite growing interest in vulnerability, there is no consensus regarding how to define or measure this concept. This paper provides an inventory and synthesis of definitions of and instruments measuring vulnerability in older adults.

Using a scoping study framework, eight databases (Abstracts in Social Gerontology, Academic Search Complete, AgeLine, CINAHL, MEDLINE, SocINDEX, PsycInfo, Scopus) were searched with relevant keywords [Vulnerab* AND (Concept*, Defin*, Meaning, Terminology, Measurement, Assessment*, Indicator*, Instrument*, Scale*, Questionnaire* OR Test*) AND (Aging, Aging, Elder*, Gerontolog*, Older OR Senior*)].

Thirty-one original definitions and five measuring instruments were identified, content-analyzed, and compared. This study aimed to investigate the potential for persistence of Salmonella enterica in a range of low moisture foods (LMF) during storage at 3 temperatures. LMF products, boil-in-bag eggs (freeze dried product), chocolate protein drink, cran-raspberry first strike bars, mocha dessert bar, and peanut butter, were inoculated with a five strain cocktail of S. enterica and stored at 4°C, 25°C, or 40°C for 36 mos. Salmonella populations remained above 7 log CFU/g in all products stored at 4°C and above 6 log CFU/g in products stored at 25°C excluding the cran-raspberry bars. Storage at 40°C resulted in Salmonella populations above 5.5 log CFU/g in boil-in-bag eggs after 36 mos and demonstrated survivability for 12 mos or less in the other five products. Additionally, a mocha bar production temperature profile study identified rapid cooling of bars in which the temperatures reached would have no measurable impact on Salmonella populations. The results indicate the ability of Salmonella to survive in a variety of LMF category foods even under adverse storage conditions and identifies how the food matrix may affect Salmonella survivability. The data indicate the importance of establishing food processing procedures that adequately mitigate the presence of Salmonella throughout food processing systems while also increasing comprehensive understanding of Salmonella survivability mechanisms.
Heated tobacco products (HTP) have diversified global tobacco markets, and user characteristics remain understudied. This study evaluated sociodemographic characteristics, nicotine-related perceptions and behaviors of current HTP users within a sample of adult (18+ years) nicotine users across four countries.

Data were from current smokers or nicotine vaping product (NVP; known as "e-cigarettes") users from Canada, England, the United States and Australia (n=11,421) who participated in the 2018 ITC Four Country Smoking and Vaping Survey. Current (at-least-monthly) HTP users were characterized (n=441), and weighted multivariable logistic regressions examined correlates of HTP use.

Compared to non-users, current HTP users were younger (mean age 44.4 vs 31.0 years; p<0.001) and had higher socioeconomic status (p<0.001). A majority of current HTP users used HTPs non-daily (daily 40.3% vs non-daily 59.7%). Most HTP users concurrently used both cigarettes and NVPs (90.5%). Among concurrent cigarette-HTPharacteristics may yield important information to consider in regulation of these products.Experiencing positive emotions together facilitates interpersonal understanding and promotes subsequent social interaction among individuals. However, the neural underpinnings of such emotional-social effect remain to be discovered. Current study employed the fNIRS-based hyperscanning to investigate the above mentioned relationship. After participants in dyad watching movie clips with happily or neutral emotion, they were asked to perform the interpersonal cooperative task, with their neural activation of prefrontal cortex (PFC) being recorded simultaneously via functional near infrared spectroscopy. Results suggested that compared with the neutral movie watching together, a higher interpersonal neural synchronization (INS) in left inferior frontal gyrus during participant dyads watching happiness movie together. Subsequently, dyads in happiness showed more effective coordination interaction during performed the interpersonal cooperation task compared to those in the neutral condition, and such facilitated effect was associated with increased cooperation-related INS at left middle frontal cortex. A mediation analysis showed that the coordination interaction fully mediated the relationship between the emotion-induced INS during the happiness movie-viewing and the cooperation-related INS in interpersonal cooperation. Taken together, our findings suggest that the faciliatory effect experiencing happiness together has on interpersonal cooperation can be reliably reflected by the INS magnitude at the brain level.As an important post-translational modification, ubiquitination mediates ∼80% of protein degradation in eukaryotes. The degree of protein ubiquitination is tightly determined by the delicate balance between specific ubiquitin ligase (E3)-mediated ubiquitination and deubiquitinase-mediated deubiquitination. In 2017, we developed UbiBrowser 1.0, which is an integrated database for predicted human proteome-wide E3-substrate interactions. Here, to meet the urgent requirement of proteome-wide E3/deubiquitinase-substrate interactions (ESIs/DSIs) in multiple organisms, we updated UbiBrowser to version 2.0 (http//ubibrowser.ncpsb.org.cn). Using an improved protocol, we collected 4068/967 known ESIs/DSIs by manual curation, and we predicted about 2.2 million highly confident ESIs/DSIs in 39 organisms, with >210-fold increase in total data volume. In addition, we made several new features in the updated version (i) it allows exploring proteins' upstream E3 ligases and deubiquitinases simultaneously; (ii) it has significantly increased species coverage; (iii) it presents a uniform confidence scoring system to rank predicted ESIs/DSIs. To facilitate the usage of UbiBrowser 2.0, we also redesigned the web interface for exploring these known and predicted ESIs/DSIs, and added functions of 'Browse', 'Download' and 'Application Programming Interface'. However, progress on the functional analysis of tRNA modifications in metazoans has been slow because of the difficulty in identifying modifying enzymes. For example, the biogenesis and function of the prevalent N2-methylguanosine (m2G) at the sixth position of tRNAs in eukaryotes has long remained enigmatic. Herein, using a reverse genetics approach coupled with RNA-mass spectrometry, we identified that THUMP domain-containing protein 3 (THUMPD3) is responsible for tRNA m2G6 formation in human cells. However, THUMPD3 alone could not modify tRNAs. Instead, multifunctional methyltransferase subunit TRM112-like protein (TRMT112) interacts with THUMPD3 to activate its methyltransferase activity. In the in vitro enzymatic assay system, THUMPD3-TRMT112 could methylate all the 26 tested G6-containing human cytoplasmic tRNAs by recognizing the characteristic 3'-CCA of mature tRNAs. We also showed that m2G7 of tRNATrp was introduced by THUMPD3-TRMT112.
