5 to 44 mg/g to 204.9 to 60 mg/g, respectively. The adsorption of dyes in pristine MIL-53(Al) and [BMIM][PF6]/MIL-53(Al) followed a pseudo-second-order kinetic model and a Langmuir isotherm model. In a mixture of both dyes, the IL/MOF composite showed a doubled MB selectivity after the IL incorporation. The composite was successfully regenerated at least two times after its use in water purification to remove MB, MO, and their mixtures. Infrared (IR) spectra indicated that the MB/MO adsorption occurs on [BMIM][PF6]/MIL-53(Al) by electrostatic interactions, hydrogen bonding, and π-π interactions. These results showed that [BMIM][PF6]/MIL-53(Al) composite is a highly promising material for efficient water purification. Background Diabetes is a long-term condition that can be treated and controlled but do not yet have a cure; it could be induced by inflammation and the goal of managing it is to prevent additional co-morbidities and reduce glycemic fluctuations. There is a need to examine inflammatory activities in diabetes-related angiopathies and explore interventions that could reduce the risk for future outcome or ameliorate its effects to provide insights for improved care and management strategies. Method The study was conducted in Embase (1946-2020), Ovid Medline (1950-2020), and PubMed databases (1960-2020) using the PICO framework. Primary studies (randomized controlled trials) on type 2 diabetes mellitus and inflammatory activities in diabetes-related angiopathies were included. Terms for the review were retrieved from the Cochrane library and from PROSPERO using its MeSH thesaurus qualifiers. Nine articles out of 454 total hits met the eligibility criteria. The quality assessment for the selected study was done usiatory activities and elevating anti-inflammatory events. Background Globalization has brought about rapid economic and technological development, and life expectancy (LE) is constantly increasing. However, it is not clear whether an increase in LE will result in an increase in healthy life expectancy (HLE). This study evaluates trends in the self-rated healthy life expectancy (SRHLE) of residents aged 15 and older in Jiangxi Province of China from 2013 to 2018 and analyzes gender differences and urban-rural differences. This study provides a basis for the formulation of relevant public health policies. Methods Based on two National Health Services Survey databases of Jiangxi in 2013 and 2018 as well as infant mortality rates and under-5 mortality rates from the Health Commission of Jiangxi, the Sullivan method was used to calculate SRHLE. The changes in SRHLE were decomposed into health and mortality effects using the decomposition method. Results SRHLE decreased from 56.55 to 55.54 years and from 60.00 to 57.87 years for men and women aged 15 from 2013 to 2018, respectively. The SRHLE of women aged 15 was 3.45 and 2.34 years longer than that of men in 2013 and 2018, respectively. The SRHLE of urban men aged 15 was 2.9 and 4.46 years longer than that of rural men in 2013 and 2018, respectively, and that of urban women aged 15 was 3.28 and 5.57 years longer than that of rural women. Conclusions The decreased SRHLE indicated that the self-rated health (SRH) status of residents in Jiangxi has worsened, and it provided evidence for the expansion of morbidity, mainly due to the increased prevalence of chronic diseases and the improvement in residents' health awareness. Policy efforts are necessary to control the increased morbidity of chronic diseases and reduce gender and urban-rural differences in the quantity and quality of years lived. Background In the face of the COVID-19, as a public health emergency, the restaurant industry is struggling to organize itself. The aim of this study is to determine the knowledge, attitude, and practice and also the perceptions of restaurants' customers and managers toward COVID-19 prevention. Methods This cross-sectional study was conducted using the mixed-method approach. Two online questionnaires were undertaken through WhatsApp Messenger among the 210 customers and 50 managers of restaurants. Multivariate linear regression analysis was conducted to identify the predictors of knowledge, attitude, and practice toward COVID-19 prevention. Then semi-structured, in-depth phone interviews were conducted with 45 subjects to identify their perceptions about the restaurant industry during the COVID-19 pandemic. Results The majority of customers had moderate knowledge (72.4%), positive attitude (90.5%), and desirable practice (38.6%); whereas the majority of managers had sufficient knowledge (50%), negative attituw to manage future crises and public health improvement.Online depression communities offer people with depressed symptoms new opportunities to obtain health information and provide social support for each other to fight against the depression. We sought to investigate whether usage of online community help improve depression outcomes and determine which types of usage behaviors have positive or negative effects on depression. We proposed that two dimensions of the sense of belonging (sense of identity and trust) and three dimensions of the sense of support (informational, emotional, and socializing) have significant effects on depression, and further considered gender difference and its effect on depression. We obtained a dataset consisting of 465,337 posts from 244 members from a popular online depression community to test all 10 proposed hypotheses. The results reveal that (i) the sense of shared identity, trust, informational support, and emotional support have positive effects on depression, while socializing support have negative effects on depression, and (ii) the sense of shared identity and trust have more positive effects on depression for female users than male users while socializing support has a more negative effect on depression for female users than for male users. The findings have important practical implications for designers and managers of online depression communities.Africa has over 1.3 billion inhabitants, with over 60% of this population residing in rural areas that have poor access to medical experts. Despite having a ridiculously huge, underserved population, very few African countries currently have any form of sustained and organized telemedicine practice, and even fewer have dedicated tele-neurology services. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has proved to be one of the most significant disruptors of vital sectors of human endeavor in modern times. In the healthcare sector, there is an increasing advocacy to deliver non-urgent care via telemedicine. This paper examined the current state of tele-neurology practice and infrastructural preparedness in sub-Saharan Africa. Currently, there is over 70% mobile phone penetration in most of the countries and virtually all of them have mobile internet services of different technologies and generations. Although the needed infrastructure is increasingly available, it should be improved upon. We have proposed the access, costs, ethics, and support (ACES) model as a bespoke, holistic strategy for the successful implementation and advancement of tele-neurology in sub-Saharan Africa. The use of social networking sites (SNSs) has been growing at a staggering rate, especially among university students. The present study investigated the prevalence of social networking addiction (SNA), its health consequences, and its relationships with parents' Internet-specific parenting behaviors in a sample of Hong Kong university students (N = 390). Adopting the 9-item social media disorder scale, 21.5% of the participating students met the criteria for SNA. Students with SNA showed longer sleeping latency, more sleep disturbance, poorer academic performance, lower levels of life satisfaction, and higher levels of depression than did students without SNA. Parental reactive restriction and limiting online behaviors of the participants were associated with higher risk of SNA. The findings suggest the severity of SNA and its negative consequences among Hong Kong university students. While parental behaviors limiting children's use of SNSs were found to increase the occurrence rate of SNA among university students, longitudinal studies are needed to further examine this causal relationship. Background Neonatal splenic rupture/hemorrhage (SRH), an extremely rare and potentially fatal presentation, can spontaneously resolve without surgical treatment; However, treatment approaches remain controversial. The present study aimed to describe and analyze the clinical features and therapies of neonatal SRH and therapeutic approaches. Methods We present the cases of two patients and review another 37 cases reported in English-literature. The literature search included all articles published in PUBMED from inception between January 1968 and December 2019. Demographic data, precipitating factors, clinical characteristics including presenting symptoms and signs, presenting time, age at SRH presentation, imaging findings, as well as treatments and outcomes were analyzed. Results In addition to the two cases treated at our hospital, 37 neonates with SRH were reported during the study period. The rate of full-term neonates was 72% (28/39). The cause was idiopathic in most cases, and congenital coagulation disorders were underlying causes in 13% (5/39) of the cases. The most common presenting symptom and sign of neonatal SRH were pallor or anemia, followed by abdominal discoloration/distension. Additionally, 18% (7/39) of the cases presented with scrotal hematoma or swelling. The age at SRH presentation ranged between 3 h and 5 days of age. Abdominal ultrasonography or computed tomography was used as the diagnostic tool. Twenty-seven cases (69%) received surgical management. The prognosis was comparable between the neonates treated with splenectomy and those treated with non-surgical approaches. The mortality rate was 18% (7/39) in the study cohort. SRH presentation at ≤12 h of age was associated with higher mortality compared to SRH presenting time at >12 h of age (odds ratio 25.0, 95% CI 2.514-248.575, p = 0.001). this website Conclusion Our literature review revealed that the mortality rate of neonatal SRH was 18% and that the mortality risk was higher in neonates presenting with SRH symptoms and signs at ≤12 h of age.Autoimmune glial fibrillary acidic protein astrocytopathy is a novel form of autoimmune meningoencephalitis related to GFAP autoantibodies. This condition is still being characterized, and few pediatric patients have been identified. Here, we report three patients presenting with fever, nausea, and headache, following progressive disturbance of consciousness, limb weakness, dyspnea, or urine retention. MRI analysis revealed that T2-hyperintense lesions, or enhancement of the meninges and spinal cord. CSF and serum analyses revealed they were positive for GFAP antibody, confirming GFAP astrocytopathy diagnosis. Treating the patients with IVIG, with or without intravenous steroids, gradually improved their clinical symptoms. Our findings indicate that GFAP astrocytopathy should be considered in children who are clinically diagnosed with meningoencephalitis, whether or not myelitis is present, and if the MRI reveals enhancement of meninges or spinal cord, T2-hyperintense lesions, or a pattern of linear perivascular gadolinium enhancement.
