The liver segments divided by Couinaud classification method are used to understand the functional anatomy of liver, which is significant in hepatic resection surgery. In Couinaud classification method, each third-order branch of the portal vein (PV) defines the supplied territory of a corresponding liver segment. However, the accuracies of the reconstruction and classification of PV are affected by the complicated structure of the vein. The purpose of this paper is to develop a separation and classification method that can accurately extract the liver segments.

In this paper, a multiple feature-based method is proposed to obtain liver segments. Because the portal and hepatic veins usually connect in the vessel segmentation result, the PV is first completely separated based on the different strategies for minimal node cut using fused features of topology and appearance. Meanwhile, all bifurcation nodes of PV are detected. The bifurcation nodes are initial ordered through their linkages to classify the braection surgery.
The proposed method achieves a high accuracy for the liver segment extraction. And the extracted liver segments are significant for the preplanning of resection surgery.No data on inotuzumab ozogamicin (InO) in infant acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) have been published to date. We collected data internationally on infants/young children ( less then 3 years) with ALL treated with InO. Fifteen patients (median 4.4 months at diagnosis) received InO due to relapsed or refractory (R/R) disease. Median percentage of CD22+ blasts was 72% (range 40-100%, n = 9). The median dose in the first course was 1.74 mg/m2 (fractionated). Seven patients (47%) achieved complete remission; one additional minimal residual disease (MRD)-positive patient became MRD-negative. Gastrointestinal (GI) disturbances are a frequent and burdensome experience for patients with anorexia nervosa (AN). How GI symptoms respond to current interventions is not well characterized, yet is critical to facilitate treatment success, and to inform the development of new treatments for AN. Therefore, the aim of this systematic review was to identify which treatments are effective in improving GI symptoms in patients with AN.

A systematic search for studies of AN treatments measuring GI symptoms pre- and post-treatment was conducted in May 2020 (PROSPERO ID CRD42020181328). After removal of duplicates, title and abstracts of 3,370 studies were screened. Methodological quality was assessed using National Institute of Health Quality Assessment Tool.

Following full-text screening, 13 studies (12 observational studies and 1 randomized double-blind placebo-controlled trial) with 401 participants met eligibility criteria and were included. All observational studies included a component of nutritional reent treatments. Future therapeutic approaches should consider GI symptoms within their design for optimal treatment adherence and outcomes.The objective of this study was to investigate three different calving detection systems in order to assess and compare their efficiency. The study was conducted at a large-scale dairy farm involving 54 Holstein-Friesian dairy cows and heifers. Animals were fitted with multiple devices a rumination measuring device (Ruminact® (RA)), an intravaginal thermometer (Vel'Phone® (VP)) and a tail movement sensor (Moocall® (MC)) 5 to 7 days before expected calving and were removed after parturition. RA detects rumination time (RT) and calculates it in 2-hr intervals. VP detects a decrease in vaginal temperature that might indicate calving within 48 hr and the drop in temperature resulting from the expulsion of the device at calving (EXP message). MC detected increased tail movements and if they persisted for one hour, 1HA message was sent. If they continued during the subsequent hour, then 2HA message was sent. Messages sent by MC within 4 hr before calving (C4) were selected retrospectively as true positives for the prediction of calving, using the significant changes in RT as a baseline. All other messages were categorized as false positive. The mean value of RT decreased in a non-significant manner between interval -22 and -4 before calving. Significant decrease of RT was detectable between the two intervals of -4 and -2 before calving (24.7 ± 18.6 min/2 hr and 14.0 ± 13.0 min/2 hr, respectively). There was no significant difference between RT of primiparous and multiparous animals. EXP messages were accurate (positive predictive value 100%) indicators of the onset of calving. We received on average 12.7 ± 15.2 messages/animal (11.0 ± 10.1 and 16.6 ± 22.2 for cows and heifers, respectively). Positive predictive value was 12.6%. The number of false-positive messages was significantly higher in heifers. All three automatic systems could be used in a large-scale farm environment.
With the rising incidence of thyroid cancer, a standardized approach to the evaluation of thyroid nodules is essential.Despite the presence of multiple national guidelines detailing evaluation and management of these nodules, significant variability exists in the information that is collected and reported to clinicians from diagnostic imaging. The aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of thyroid ultrasound standardization on thyroid cancer detection in a community practice setting.

As part of a physician-driven quality improvement project, a multidisciplinary team created an electronic worksheet to be utilized by sonographers to capture suspicious findings based on societal guidelines and agreed on institutional criteria for recommending fine needle aspiration (FNA) of thyroid nodules.

Such strategies will allow broader patient access and wide product utilisation.
