The impact of trauma exposures on disordered eating may vary by developmental period.Antlers have been widely studied due to their unique physiological characteristics, such as rapid growth, periodic shedding and regeneration. However, little is known about how antler growth is regulated by long non-coding RNA (lncRNA). The aim of the present study was to identify the lncRNAs expression profile and explore the function of lncRNAs during the antler growth. Herein, RNA-sequencing technology (RNA-seq) was performed on the three growth periods (early developmental period EP, middle developmental period MP, later developmental period LP) of male sika deer (Cervus nippon) antler, 16 differentially expressed lncRNAs (DE lncRNAs) and 11 DE lncRNAs were identified in EP vs MP and MP vs LP related to cell proliferation and cell differentiation, respectively. Finally, lncRNAs-mRNAs co-expression networks were constructed based on the identified DE lncRNAs and their potential trans-target genes. The result reveals that lncRNAs may play diverse roles in different periods of antler growth. It provides a novel perspective for revealing the molecular mechanism of antler growth.Literature reports four successful cases where penile transplantation has been performed for cis men. To date, no penis transplantation has ever been attempted for trans men. Modern surgical techniques for penis reconstruction for (trans) men with gender incongruence present multiple drawbacks, and sometimes fail to meet patients' expectations. Penis transplantation could represent an alternative solution. With the aim of planning penis transplantation to trans men, a previous study from our same group suggested a surgical technique for explantation of penis and associated vessels, nerves and urethra en-bloc from a cadaver further radiographic imaging of vascular anatomy was recommended. To measure length and diameter of the internal pudendal arteries at three set points in biological males, in order to confirm its viability for transplantation. A retrospective examination of existing CT images visualizing the internal pudendal arteries in 12 bodies, assigned male at birth, was performed. Diameters were measured in three points 1. the take off of the artery; 2. distal to its rectal branch; and, 3. at the bifurcation of the two terminal branches of the artery, i.e. SGX-523 in vitro the bulbourethral artery and the dorsal artery of the penis. Mean diameters of the selected points were 2.4 mm, 1.9 mm, and 1.5 mm on both sides. Mean lengths of internal pudendal arteries were 111.2 mm on the left, and 120.1 mm on the right side. Diameters of the internal pudendal artery is sufficient for arterial anastomosis at all measured points. Lengths are sufficient to reach recipient vessels.Purpose To compare predicted and measured changes in astigmatism at the posterior corneal surface (PCS) after FsLASIK or LASIK.Methods Astigmatism was measured at both corneal surfaces (PentacamTM) before and 3 months after unremarkable FFsLASIK (roup 1,n = 100) or LLASIK (roup 2,n = 100) for myopia (-7.25DS to -0.75DS) and low astigmatism (≤1.00DC). Photoablation was achieved using Schwind Amaris750STM laser (Aberration Free profile, centered on corneal vertex). Pre-and postop astigmatic data, according to subjective refraction and estimates for the corneal surfaces (over the central 3.2 mm zone), were subjected to vector analysis to calculate surgically induced astigmatism (SIA) by refraction (SIAR), at the anterior (SIAFact) and posterior corneal surfaces (SIABact). The difference vector between SIAR and SIAFact was regarded as the predicted SIA at the PCS (SIABest).Results Reporting key findings. Mean(±sd,95%CI) SIABest and SIABact powers in group 1 were -0.52DC(±0.35,-0.56 to -0.45) and -0.11DC(±0.08,-0.13 to -0.10) in group 1, -0.35DC(0.20,-0.39 to -0.32) and -0.08DC(0.07,-0.09 to -0.06) in group 2. Differences between SIABest and SIABact were significant for powers but not axes. Significant correlations(p less then .01) were revealed between (I) SIAR and SIAFact powers [Group 1, SIAR = 0.370.SIAFact-0.292,r = 0.299. Group 2, SIAR = 0.484.SIAFact-0.394,r = 0.519] but not the axes and (II) ΔC (difference between pre-[x1] and postop measured PCS astigmatic powers) and x1 [Group 1, ΔC = 0.384x1 + 0.119,r = 0.423. Group 2, ΔC = 0.135x1 + 0.047,r = 0.229,p = .022]. There was no correlation between SIABest and SIABact powers or axes.Conclusion The changes in posterior corneal astigmatic powers according to Pentacam measurements are small and do not account for the deficit between SIAR and SIAFact after FsLASIK or LASIK.Oncology and Palliative Medicine lack guidance on routine opioid risk screening and compliance monitoring. This study explored relationships among risk screening and aberrant medication related behaviors in patients with advanced lung cancer receiving embedded palliative care. This was a single center, prospective study and data was collected from December 2018 to March 2020. At the initial palliative visit, patients provided a baseline urine drug screen (UDS) test and completed the Screener and Opioid Assessment for Patients with Pain - Revised (SOAPP-R) self-assessment. Clinical pharmacists provided comprehensive review and interpretation of UDS results. Among 39 patients, 12 (30.8%) scored positive for risk of aberrant medication behaviors on the SOAPP-R. Only 34 of 39 patients provided a baseline UDS test and were included in further analysis. Prior to pharmacist review, 11/11 (100%) baseline UDS results in the positive-risk group and 13/23 (56.5%) in the negative-risk group appeared unexpected (p = 0.01). After pharmacist review, aberrant baseline UDS results were confirmed for 5/11 (45.5%) positive-risk and 4/23 (17.4%) negative-risk patients (p = 0.11). Overall, the SOAPP-R alone may be inadequate in this population and clinical pharmacists play an important role in comprehensive UDS result interpretation. Future studies are needed to validate this risk-screening tool in palliative cancer populations.
