y of protectin (CD59) expression indicates a possibility of reducing the proinflammatory effect of protectin in pSS.
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is categorized as an autoimmune disease with a frequency of 0.2-1% worldwide. It is reported that various autoantibodies are produced in the RA population, particularly against citrullinated peptides. Among various candidate markers for RA diagnosis, the citrullinated proteins have the highest specificity and sensitivity for both diagnosis and prognosis of RA. Anti-mutated citrullinated vimentin and α-enolase constitute a new class of autoantibodies for early detection of RA.

45 serum samples and 19 synovial fluid (SF) specimens collected from RA patients were considered for American College of Rheumatology criteria and 20 serum samples and 10 SF specimens were provided from healthy subjects as a control group. read more To assess the quantity of anti-citrullinated protein antibodies (ACPA), anti-mutated citrullinated vimentin (MCV) and anti-α-enolase in the serum and SF of RA patients were determined by the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method. For the evaluation of disease ac two important markers that increase in serum and SF of RA patients and are specific for diagnosis of RA disease.
In conclusion, both autoantibodies against MCV and α-enolase are two important markers that increase in serum and SF of RA patients and are specific for diagnosis of RA disease. The International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) proposed the authorship criteria which can be employed by medics and allied specialists. Scholars who substantively contribute to research and writing, revise, approve final drafts for target journal submissions, and take responsibility for all aspects of the work deserve authorship. Increasing awareness of the ICMJE criteria, incorporating related points in journal instructions, and enforcing them in daily practice may have positive impact for healthcare. Instances of inappropriate authorship are ethical transgressions which can be avoided by editors employing strategies of author profile evaluations. There are several platforms for recording author accomplishments which may improve the discoverability of scholarly works and prevent unethical conduct. Most publishers advise authors to submit their Open Researcher and Contributor IDs (ORCID) at the manuscript submission. Other identifiers, such as Twitter handles, are also emerging as tools to stimulate post-publication communication and increase authors' accountability for published articles. The COVID-19 pandemic has suddenly and deeply changed our lives in a way comparable with the most traumatic events in history, such as a World war. With millions of people infected around the World and already thousands of deaths, there is still a great uncertainty on the actual evolution of the crisis, as well as on the possible post-crisis scenarios, which depend on a number of key variables and factors (e.g. a treatment, a vaccine or some kind of immunity). Despite the optimism enforced by the positive results recently achieved to produce a vaccine, uncertainty is probably still somehow the predominant feeling. From a more philosophical perspective, the COVID-19 drama is also a kind of stress-test for our global system and, probably, an opportunity to reconsider some aspects underpinning it, as well as its sustainability. In this article we focus on the pre-crisis situation by combining a number of selected global indicators that are likely to represent measures of different aspects of life. How was the World actually performing? We have defined 6 macro-categories and inferred their relevance from different sources. Results show that economic-oriented priorities correspond to positive performances, while all other distributions point to a negative performance. Additionally, balanced and economy-focused distributions of weights propose an optimistic interpretation of performance regardless of the absolute score.Education is going through a period of crisis related to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic that most probably will follow a continuum organized into distinct phases emergency, recovery, reconstruction, development, and institutionalization. This article analyzes the response of curriculum to an unpredictable, chaotic, and recursive crisis situation. The article also highlights the role of important, but often forgotten, actors in a formal education system-parents-and examines the stresses the pandemic has placed on them. Finally, in the light of the continuum of the educational crisis and the impacts of Covid-19 on certain curricular dimensions, the article concludes with reflections on the need to rethink curricula, even in education systems that considered themselves robust in their institutionalization.Complex coacervate core micelles (C3Ms) are nanoscopic structures formed by charge interactions between oppositely charged macroions and used to encapsulate a wide variety of charged (bio)molecules. In most cases, C3Ms are in a dynamic equilibrium with their surroundings. Understanding the dynamics of molecular exchange reactions is essential as this determines the rate at which their cargo is exposed to the environment. Here, we study the molecular exchange in C3Ms by making use of Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) and derive an analytical model to relate the experimentally observed increase in FRET efficiency to the underlying macromolecular exchange rates. We show that equilibrated C3Ms have a broad distribution of exchange rates. The overall exchange rate can be strongly increased by increasing the salt concentration. In contrast, changing the unlabeled homopolymer length does not affect the exchange of the labeled homopolymers and an increase in the micelle concentration only affects the FRET increase rate at low micelle concentrations. Together, these results suggest that the exchange of these equilibrated C3Ms occurs mainly by expulsion and insertion, where the rate-limiting step is the breaking of ionic bonds to expel the chains from the core. These are important insights to further improve the encapsulation efficiency of C3Ms.
The present study set out to investigate how Chinese and South Korean families conceptualize fairness and a fair division of household labor.

Previous cross-cultural research has found that a good portion of women and men find the gendered division of household labor fair. In response, scholars have attempted to discover what factors lead to a greater likelihood of reporting a gendered division fair. However, the majority of the scholarship on fairness perceptions has been limited to survey methods, in which fairness is not defined, and the individual's reasons for their fairness perception is not investigated.

This study employed thematic analysis of in-depth interviews with the members of 12 Chinese (N=39) and 12 Korean (N=40) families.

No participation in household labor was considered across families to be unfair. On the other hand, the majority of participants justified an unequal division to be fair based on gendered applications of differences in time-availability and levels of tiredness, in which the amount of housework that each member should do was left unspecified.

Many adult participants believed that fairness should not apply to the family context. Instead, most participants argued that household labor should be divided based on emotional satisfaction, maintained through mechanisms of understanding and agreement.

Future studies on fairness perceptions should clearly define what they mean by "fairness," and the gendering of gender-neutral appearing justifications such as time-availability should be further investigated.

Differences in the deposition location of inhaled viral droplets may have a direct impact on the probability of virus expelling. This study develops a numerical model to estimate the region-specific deposition fractions for inhalable droplets (1-50 μ m) in respiratory airways. The results identified a higher deposition fraction in the upper airways than the lower airways. Particularly for droplets larger than 10 μ m, the relatively high deposition fraction in the oral/laryngeal combined region warns of its easy transmission through casual talking/coughing. Moreover, considering droplet sizes' effect on virus loading capacity, we built a correlation model to quantify the potential of virus expelling hazards, which suggests an amplified cascade effect on virus transmission on top of the existing transmission mechanism. It therefore highlights the importance of considering the instant expelling possibilities from inhaled droplets, and also implies potentials in restricting a rapid secondary transmission by measures that can lower down droplet deposition in the upper airways.Regional contraceptive use differentials are pronounced in Ghana, with the lowest levels occurring in the Northern Region. Community-based health services, intended to promote maternal and child health and family planning use, may have failed to address this problem. This paper presents an analysis of qualitative data on community perspectives on family planning "readiness," "willingness," and "ability" compiled in the course of 20 focus group discussions with residents (mothers and fathers of children under five, young boys and girls, and community elders) of two communities each in two Northern Region districts that were either equipped with or lacking direct access to community health services. The study districts are localities where contraceptive use is uncommon and fertility is exceptionally high. Results suggest that direct access to community services has had no impact on contraceptive attitudes or practice. Widespread method knowledge is often offset by side-effect misperceptions. Social constraints are prominent owing to opposition from men. Findings attest to the need to improve the provision of contraceptive information and expand method choice options. Because societal acceptance and access in this patriarchal setting is critical to use, frontline worker deployment should prioritize strategies for outreach to men and community groups with prominent attention to social mobilization themes and strategies that support family planning.A shared feature in the rapid spread of large outdoor fires are the production or generation of new, far smaller combustible fragments from the original fire source referred to as firebrands. A simplified experimental protocol has been developed that allows for the study of firebrand generation processes from various structural materials exposed to an applied wind field. The influence of angle of orientation on the firebrand production process is investigated. The thickest firebrands were produced with experiments with 45° angle under 8 m/s. The influence of angle was found to have the same trend under the tested wind speeds and to be more apparent at 8 m/s than 6 m/s. As installation angles are a key factor for photovoltaic panel (PV) efficiency, often only the solar energy efficiency is considered in PV panel orientation decisions. Yet, this study demonstrates that the types of firebrands generated in the event of large outdoor fires were sensitive to the angle of installation for structural materials used as surrogates for PV panels.
