RESULTS Bilirubin level changes in the experimental and control groups six hours after intervention were - 1.45 ± 3.23 and - 0.49 ± 0.37 (p = 0.024), respectively. The changes 24 and 48 h after intervention were-3.26 ± 2.78 and - 1.89 ± 1.20 (p = 0.017) in the experimental group and - 4.89 ± 2.76 and - 3.98 ± 2.32 (p = 0.23) in the control group, respectively. There was no significant difference in the phototherapy duration between the two groups (p = 0.24). CONCLUSIONS The results of this study showed that the use of zinc sulfate syrup in preterm infants with indirect hyperbilirubinemia significantly reduced bilirubin levels within 48 h of treatment. Alterations in the composition and diversity of the gut microbiome in irritable bowel syndrome have been reported, however, this association is poorly understood in fibromyalgia. Our aim was to summarise the research reporting on the gastrointestinal microbiome and its biomarkers in people with fibromyalgia. METHODS A systematic review of published original research reporting on the gastrointestinal microbiota and its biomarkers in adults with a diagnosis of fibromyalgia was undertaken. RESULTS From 4771 studies, 11 met our inclusion criteria and were separated into four main groups papers reporting Helicobacter pylori; other gut bacterial markers; metabolomics and other biomarkers, which included intestinal permeability and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. CONCLUSION The results suggest there is a paucity of quality research in this area, with indications that the gut microbiota may play a role in fibromyalgia within the emerging field of the gut-musculoskeletal axis. Further investigations into the relationship between the gut microbiota, gut dysfunction and fibromyalgia are warranted.BACKGROUND We aimed to present our experience of adopting tissue adhesive as adjunct to standard wound closure in total hip arthroplasty (THA) and evaluate its performance. METHODS From September 2019 to November 2019, we prospectively enrolled consecutive patients who underwent simultaneous bilateral THA in this randomized and controlled study. Standard wound closure was applied on one side of hip while additional tissue adhesive was applied on the other side at random. We collected and analyzed patients' information, including age, gender, body mass index (BMI), diagnosis, postoperative length of stay (LOS), dressing changes, wound evaluation scores, wound-related cost and complications. RESULTS Thirty patients with simultaneous bilateral THA were enrolled in this study. During the hospital stay, the times of dressing change in hips with tissue adhesive was significantly less than that in the other hips (p = 0.000). However, the wound-related cost in hips with tissue adhesive was significantly higher (p = 0.000). According to patients' feedback at one-month follow-up, wound evaluation of hips with tissue adhesive was significantly better than the other hips (p = 0.004). Seventeen patients preferred tissue adhesive and only five patients preferred standard wound closure. CONCLUSIONS Tissue adhesive could significantly reduce wound drainage and increase patients' satisfaction, which can be an ideal adjunct to standard wound closure in enhanced-recovery THA. TRIAL REGISTRATION Chinese Clinical Trial Registry; ChiCTR1900025730; Registered 6 September 2019.BACKGROUND Aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC) secondary to Giant Cell Tumor of bone (GCT) is a rare lesion, of which the incidence is about 0.011 to 0.053 per 100,000 every year. There are only a few previous case reports, and most of them occur in the spine, long bones or flat bones. CASE PRESENTATION We report one case of a patient who complained of "progressive enlargement of the mass on right-hand fifth finger for 5 years with ulceration for 6 months". After the imaging examination in our hospital, it was diagnosed as a "huge bone tumor on the proximal phalanx of the right-hand fifth finger", then wide excision and amputation of the fifth finger were made. The pathological examination diagnosed the mass as aneurysmal bone cyst secondary to giant cell tumor, 13 × 8 × 6 cm3, with no local infiltration observed. No recurrence and metastasis occurred 18 months after the operation, and the patient recovered well. CONCLUSION In this report, we discuss the etiology, diagnosis, differentiation, and management of Aneurysmal bone Cyst secondary to Giant Cell Tumor of bone, and review previous case studies.BACKGROUND This study aimed to assess caries prevalence and experience among 11 to 14 years, school children, analyze demographic, socioeconomic, personal and professional dental care in relation to untreated carious lesions, and evaluates the effect of decayed teeth on early adolescents' oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL). this website METHODS A cross-sectional analytical investigation was conducted on 1020 preparatory schoolchildren selected on the basis of a multistage sampling technique. Caries status of the participants detected via recording their caries experience and untreated cavities using DMFT and DT indices. OHRQoL was determined using a validated Arabic CPQ11-14 short-form questionnaire. Statistical methods for descriptive analysis, chi-square test, Independent-Samples t test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used. Multivariate Poisson regression analysis through a hierarchical approach was used to detect the influence of independent variables on DT scores. To declare the association between independent variables and QoL, a step-by-step, multivariate regression analysis was conducted. RESULTS The average scores of DMFT and DT in this study were 2.97 ± 1.29 and 1.66 ± 1.24. Poisson regression analysis demonstrated that early adolescents whom their mothers with a lower level of education and of low socioeconomic status were 1.41 and 1.27 times respectively had higher DT scores when compared with their peers. Untreated cavities affected mainly by mother education, school type, family income, and regular dental appointments. Children with DMFT≤3) or DT = 0 recorded a statistically significant lower CPQ11-14 average score (p less then 0.01) and (p less then 0.0001) respectively. CONCLUSIONS Untreated carious cavities and caries experience were associated with lower socioeconomic, maternal education andl ess frequent tooth brushing. Untreated carious cavities have a significant negative impact on schoolchildren's QoL.
