Representation Understanding regarding Fine-Grained Adjust Detection.
In this study, the zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) and titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO2 NPs) were synthesized using the aqueous leaf extract of Ficus religiosa (Peepal tree). The synthesized nanoparticles were tested as larvicides against the larvae of Anopheles stephensi. Further, the synthesized nanoparticles were tested as antibacterial agents against the Escherichia coli (gram negative) and Staphylococcus aureus (gram positive) bacteria. The synthesized nanoparticles were characterized with UV-visible spectroscopy, X-rays powder diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDX). The larvicidal mortality was observed after 24 h and 48 h by probit analysis. The antibacterial activity was evaluated using the well diffusion method. The synthesized nanoparticles were irregular shape and varied size. The larvae of An. stephensi were found highly susceptible against the ZnO NPs than the TiO2 NPs and aqueous leaves extract. The highest mortality was observed in synthesized ZnO NPs against first to third instars of (LC50 50, 75, and 5 ppm) and 100% mortality in fourth instars of An. stephensi. selleck The higher zone of inhibition was occurred against the E. coli. This report of present investigation revealed that the rapid biological synthesis of ZnO NPs and TiO2 NPs using aqueous leaf extract of F. religiosa would be effective potential larvicides for mosquito control as well as antimicrobial agents with eco-friendly approach.Severe neurologic complications following epidural and spinal anesthesia rarely occur. Transverse myelitis has been reported as a rare complication of epidural or spinal anesthesia. We report a case of longitudinally extensive transverse myelitis and an isolated pontine lesion, which responded to immunotherapy. The patient was a 31-year-old pregnant woman who underwent elective cesarean section under epidural and spinal anesthesia. Though the insertions of the epidural and spinal catheters were smooth, she experienced back pain and transient hearing loss during epidural anesthesia. Postoperatively, she exhibited severe motor weakness in both lower extremities, neuralgia below the level of Th10 dermatome, and urinary retention. Magnetic resonance imaging showed longitudinally extensive transverse myelitis from T6 to T10 with a ring-shaped enhanced lesion and an isolated pontine lesion. These findings on magnetic resonance imaging were suggestive of autoimmune diseases such as neuromyelitis optica. The patient was diagnosed with an immunoreactive disease triggered by epidural or spinal anesthesia and was administered high-dose methylprednisolone, which led to the improvement in clinical symptoms. Clinicians should be aware of the possibility of the development of longitudinally extensive transverse myelitis and isolated pontine lesions after cesarean section under epidural and spinal anesthesia.•The case of infant ischemic stroke with remarkable DWI reversal.•A mismatch between core volume and visually DWI lesion predicts DWI reversal.•Chronic hypoxia and early recanalization may contribute to large DWI reversal.•Mismatch between DWI-ASPECTS and core volume may occur in infant brain.Occurrence of obesity during the postmenopausal period is closely associated with inflammatory processes in multiple peripheral organs that are metabolically active. Hypothalamic inflammation has been recognized as one of the major underlying causes of various metabolic disorders, including obesity. The association between menopause-related obesity and hypothalamic inflammation remains poorly understood. We observed an elevation in hypothalamic inflammation in the ovariectomized mice, which displayed altered metabolic phenotypes and visceral obesity. Furthermore, we confirmed that ovariectomized mice displayed microglial activation accompanied by the upregulation of multiple genes involved in the inflammatory responses in hypothalamic microglia. Collectively, the current findings suggest that hypothalamic inflammation associated with microglial functioning could be a major pathogenic element in disruption of energy homeostasis during the postmenopausal period.Artificial Intelligence (AI) has generated a large amount of excitement in healthcare, mostly driven by the emergence of increasingly accurate machine learning models. However, the promise of AI delivering scalable and sustained value for patient care in the real world setting has yet to be realized. In order to safely and effectively bring AI into use in healthcare, there needs to be a concerted effort around not just the creation, but also the delivery of AI. This AI "delivery science" will require a broader set of tools, such as design thinking, process improvement, and implementation science, as well as a broader definition of what AI will look like in practice, which includes not just machine learning models and their predictions, but also the new systems for care delivery that they enable. The careful design, implementation, and evaluation of these AI enabled systems will be important in the effort to understand how AI can improve healthcare.Clinical sleep evaluations currently require multimodal data collection and manual review by human experts, making them expensive and unsuitable for longer term studies. Sleep staging using cardiac rhythm is an active area of research because it can be measured much more easily using a wide variety of both medical and consumer-grade devices. In this study, we applied deep learning methods to create an algorithm for automated sleep stage scoring using the instantaneous heart rate (IHR) time series extracted from the electrocardiogram (ECG). We trained and validated an algorithm on over 10,000 nights of data from the Sleep Heart Health Study (SHHS) and Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis (MESA). The algorithm has an overall performance of 0.77 accuracy and 0.66 kappa against the reference stages on a held-out portion of the SHHS dataset for classifying every 30 s of sleep into four classes wake, light sleep, deep sleep, and rapid eye movement (REM). Moreover, we demonstrate that the algorithm generalizes well to an independent dataset of 993 subjects labeled by American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) licensed clinical staff at Massachusetts General Hospital that was not used for training or validation.
