The Sr-containing micro/nano-structured surface effectively upgraded the proliferation and differentiation of SaOS-2 cells compared with other surfaces. Sr2+ and micro/nano-structure effectively enhanced the anti-inflammatory and osteogenic properties of titanium alloys. This finding suggested that the micro/nano-structured surface doped with bioactive elements is expected to broaden the horizons of biomedical materials. DATA AVAILABILITY The raw/processed data required to reproduce these findings cannot be shared at this time as the data also forms part of an ongoing study. The speed and motion directionality of bubble-propelled micromotors is dependent on bubble lifetime, bubble formation frequency and bubble stabilization. Absence and presence of bubble stabilizing agents should significantly influence speed and propulsion pattern of a micromotor, especially for fast-diffusing molecules like hydrogen. This study demonstrates a fully biodegradable Janus structured micromotor, propelled by hydrogen bubbles generated by the chemical reaction between hydrochloric acid and magnesium. Six different concentrations of hydrochloric acid and five different concentrations of the surfactant Triton X-100 were tested, which also cover the critical micelle concentration at a pH corresponding to an empty stomach. The Janus micromotor reverses its propulsion direction depending on the availability and concentration of a surfactant. Upon surfactant-free condition, the Janus micromotor is propelled by bubble cavitation, causing the micromotor to be pulled at high speed for short time intervals into the direction of the imploding bubble and thus backwards. BX471 In case of available surfactant above the critical micelle concentration, the Janus micromotor is pushed forward by the generated bubbles, which emerge at high frequency and form a bubble trail. The finding of the propulsion direction reversal effect demonstrates the importance to investigate the motion properties of artificial micromotors in a variety of different environments prior to application, especially with surfactants, since biological media often contain large amounts of surface-active components.
Tobacco cessation, at the time of cancer diagnosis, has been associated with better oncologic outcomes. Cancer diagnosis has been shown to serves as a "teachable moment," inspiring tobacco cessation. However, the sustainability of abstinence from smoking is understudied. Similarly, there is a paucity of data regarding the utility of behavioral/pharmacologic intervention to support continued smoking cessation.
A systematic literature review was conducted in August 2021 with no date limits. Relevant studies that reported tobacco smoking relapse rates for patients who quit at the time of cancer diagnosis were included. Our literature search identified 1620 articles and 29 met inclusion criteria. The primary endpoint of the study was smoking relapse rate. Secondary outcome was a descriptive assessment of behavioral and pharmacologic interventions to promote continued cessation. Exploratory outcomes included a regression analysis to examine associations between study factors and relapse rates.
There were 302udied, and existing literature is difficult to interpret due to heterogeneity. Relapse rates remain significant and, although many studies have included the employment of an intervention to promote continued cessation, few studies have measured the effect of a protocolized intervention to support abstinence.A recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody (mAb) Eculizumab, C5-complement cascade inhibitor, is an important treatment of complement-based diseases recommended by international guidelines. Elizaria® Drug Product (DP), developed by IBC Generium, Russia, is the world's first registered biosimilar of eculizumab (Soliris®, Alexion Pharmaceuticals). Using sensitive state-of-the-art analytical techniques extensive similarity assessment has been conducted to demonstrate the structural and functional similarity of original Soliris® (Eculizumab Reference Product, RP) and the biosimilar Elizaria®, focusing on the physicochemical and biological quality attributes, including those known to affect the mechanisms of action. A multitude of analyses revealed that amino acid sequence is identical, the higher order structures, post-translational modifications, purity, and product variants are highly similar between Elizaria® DP and Eculizumab RP, except for minor differences in the relative abundance of the charge variants and glycan moieties considered not clinically significant. The results demonstrate that Elizaria® is highly analytically similar to Eculizumab RP in terms of physicochemical properties and biological activities.
Suicidal intent is a risk factor for engagement in suicidal behavior, use of violent means, and suicide mortality. Yet, scarce research has examined factors associated with suicidal intent among U.S. military veterans, a population at high risk for suicide. This study examined vulnerability factors associated with suicidal intent in a population-based sample of U.S. veterans.
Data were analyzed from the 2019-2020 National Health and Resilience in Veterans Study, which surveyed a representative sample of 4069 U.S. veterans. Analyses estimated the prevalence of current suicidal intent (i.e., veterans' report that they would likely attempt suicide in the future) and examined factors most strongly associated with suicidal intent.
Forty-nine veterans (1.4%; 95% confidence interval=1.0-1.8%) reported suicidal intent. Recurrent past-year suicidal ideation (≥2 times), low dispositional gratitude, current depression, current insomnia, childhood sexual abuse, and a prior suicide attempt were most strongly associated with suicidal intent (7.1-50.1% of the total explained variance). Veterans with several of these co-occurring factors were at highest risk for suicidal intent; of veterans with 0, ≥1, ≥2, ≥3, and ≥4 of these factors, 0.1%, 4.4%, 10.8%, 19.5%, and 28.1% reported suicidal intent, respectively.
Specific vulnerability factors, particularly when co-occurring, may increase veterans' intention of attempting suicide. Findings underscore the importance for clinicians to continuously assess suicidal intent when working with this population, particularly as veterans' reports of suicidal thinking increases.

Because of the strong genetic basis of ADHD, the use of polygenic risk scores (PRS) could potentially aid in the early identification of ADHD and associated outcomes. Therefore, a systematic search of the literature on the association between ADHD and PRS in pediatric populations was conducted. All articles were screened for a priori inclusion and exclusion criteria, and, after careful review, 33 studies were included in our systematic review and 16 studies with extractable data were included in our meta-analysis. The results of the review were categorized into three common themes the associations between ADHD-PRS with 1) the diagnosis of ADHD and ADHD symptoms 2) comorbid psychopathology and 3) cognitive and educational outcomes. Higher ADHD-PRS were associated with increased odds of having a diagnosis (OR = 1.37; p less then 0.001) and more symptoms of ADHD (β = 0.06; p less then 0.001). While ADHD-PRS were associated with a persistent diagnostic trajectory over time in the systematic review, the meta-analysis did not confirm these findings (OR = 1.09; p = 0.62). Findings showed that ADHD-PRS were associated with increased odds for comorbid psychopathology such as anxiety/depression (OR = 1.16; p less then 0.001) and irritability/emotional dysregulation (OR = 1.14; p less then 0.001). Finally, while the systematic review showed that ADHD-PRS were associated with a variety of negative cognitive outcomes, the meta-analysis showed no significant association (β = 0.08; p = 0.07). Our review of the available literature suggests that ADHD-PRS, together with risk factors, may contribute to the early identification of children with suspected ADHD and associated disorders. To understand the habitat ecology of Tresus keenae, an infaunal bivalve, the microanatomical structure of the siphon and the method of siphonal sheath formation were described. The diameter of the incurrent siphon was approximately 1.2 times greater than that of the excurrent siphon. Several irregular tentacles developed inside the distal end of the siphon. The tentacles in the incurrent siphon were approximately twice as long as those in the excurrent siphon. The siphon consisted of six tissue layers, which, from the outside inward, were the siphonal sheath, matrix, outer epithelial layer, connective tissue layer, muscular layer, and inner epithelial layer. The siphonal sheath was composed of an outer cuticle and dense microfilament layer and had vertical ducts. The matrix showed a loose microfilament layer. The outer epithelial layer was simple consisting of ciliated columnar epithelia and secretory cells. There were two types of secretory cells arenophilic cells and proteinous granular cells. These were aleath thickened, reflecting the infaunal habitat.Future visions of transport systems include both a drive towards automated vehicles and the need for sustainable, active, modes of travel. The combination of these requirements needs careful consideration to ensure the integration of automated vehicles does not compromise vulnerable road users. Transport networks need to be resilient to automation integration, which requires foresight of possible challenges in their interaction with other road users. Focusing on a cyclist overtake scenario, the application of operator event sequence diagrams and a predictive systems failure method provide a novel way to analyse resilience. The approach offers the opportunity to review how automation can be positively integrated into road transportation to overcome the shortfalls of the current system by targeting organisational, procedural, equipment and training measures. It is generally assumed that someone's affective state can be correctly detected and interpreted by other people, nowadays even by computer algorithms, in their writing. However, it is unclear whether these perceptions match the actual experience and communicative intention of the author. Therefore, we investigated the relation between affect expression and perception in text in a two-part study. In Part 1, participants (authors) wrote about emotional experiences according to four combinations of two appraisals (High/Low Pleasantness, High/Low Control), rated the valence of each text, and annotated words using 22 emotions. In Part 2, another group of participants (readers) rated and annotated the same texts. We also compare the human evaluations to those provided by computerized text analysis. Results show that valence differed across conditions and that authors rated and annotated their texts differently than readers. Although the automatic analysis detected levels of positivity and negativity across conditions similar to human valence ratings, it relied on fewer and different words to do so.
