Cost-effectiveness evaluations of interventions require health utility data. However, in medical conditions, such as aromatic L-amino acid decarboxylase (AADC) deficiency, this presents problems due to the rarity of the disease. The study aim therefore was to employ a discrete choice experiment (DCE) to generate health utilities for AADC deficiency.

A previous literature review, clinician and parent interviews had identified six key AADC deficiency attributes mobility, muscle weakness, oculogyric crises (OCG), feeding ability, cognitive impairment and screaming. A representative sample of the French general population was recruited. Participants rated 5 health state vignettes describing AADC deficiency using time-trade-off (TTO) and standard gamble (SG). Additionally, participants rated the worst health state using the Health Utility Index version 3 (HUI3). Subsequently, participants completed DCE 11 choice sets. Indirect DCE part-worth utilities were converted to health utilities using the anchors from tating an AADC deficiency intervention.
A DCE was used to derive health utilities for AADC deficiency. These health utilities will subsequently be used in an economic model evaluating an AADC deficiency intervention.
Problems in infant and young child sleep can represent a serious challenge to parental behavior of mother and father. However, most research about the effect of infant and young child sleep on parenting has focused on mothers. Therefore, the present study aimed to explore the perception and consequences of infant and young child sleep problems of both parents.

Participants were recruited via random sampling at, eg, kindergartens in North Rhine Westphalia. The sample includes data of heterosexual German-speaking couples with children without any medical or psychopathological problems. For this study, parents were asked to complete the test battery with regard to their youngest child. As sampling was via the kindergarten, the range of child age was 4-68 months. A survey assessed data of parents (N=196, 46% female). The test battery contained the following questionnaires Children Sleep Habits Questionnaire (CSHQ), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), Self-Report Measure for the Assessment of Emotion Regulaion.
The conclusion from this survey refers to the role of the father. According to the results, an association between paternal emotional competence, sleep quality as well as their sleep-related cognitions and infants and toddlers sleep behavior could be assumed in addition to and independent of the results of mothers. We would highlight the urgent need of inclusion of fathers in infant and developmental sleep research. Accumulating evidence suggests that both sleep loss and gut dysbiosis can lead to metabolic disorders. However, less is known about the impact of total sleep deprivation (SD) and sleep recovery on the composition, function, and metabolic dynamics of the gut microbiota.

Specific-pathogen free Sprague-Dawley rats were subjected to 48 h of SD with gentle handling and then allowed to recover for 1 week. Taxonomic profiles of fecal microbiota were obtained at baseline, 24 h of SD, 48 h of SD, and 1 week of recovery. We used 16
rRNA gene sequencing to analyze the gut microbial composition and function and further characterize microbiota-derived metabolites in rats.

The microbiota composition analysis revealed that gut microbial composition and metabolites did not change in the rats after 24 h of SD but were significantly altered after 48 h of SD. These changes were reversible after 1 week of sleep recovery. A functional analysis was performed based on Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) annotations, indicating that 19 KEGG pathways were significantly altered in the gut microbiota in SD rats. These functional changes occurred within 24 h of SD, were more apparent after 48 h of SD, and did not fully recover after 1 week of sleep recovery.

These results indicate that acute total SD leads to significant compositional and functional changes in the gut microbiota, and these changes are reversible.

A growing number of studies have demonstrated that the coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) pandemic has severely affected sleep and dream activity in healthy people. To date, no investigation has examined dream activity specifically in COVID-19 patients.

As part of the International COVID-19 Sleep Study (ICOSS), we compared 544 COVID-19 participants with 544 matched-controls. A within-subjects comparison between pre-pandemic and pandemic periods computed separately for controls and COVID-19 participants were performed on dream recall and nightmare frequency (DRF; NF). Also, non-parametric comparisons between controls and COVID-19 participants were carried out. Further, we compared psychological measures between the groups collected during pandemic. Ordinal logistic regression to detect the best predictors of NF was performed.

We found that people reported greater dream activity during the pandemic. Comparisons between controls and COVID-19 participants revealed a) no difference between groups concerning D strong associations between increased nightmares in those reporting having had COVID-19. This suggests that the more that people were affected by COVID-19, the greater the impact upon dream activity and quality of life.

A cross-sectional survey was conducted in Yixing City, Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, China. Regression analysis was applied to explore the influences of age and driving experience and their interactions with other covariates on aggressive driving behavior. Adolescent bullying has varying degrees of negative impact on both bullies and victims. Bullying in adolescents is complex, and the influence of individual factors and social factors should not be underestimated. Normative beliefs about aggression play an important role in adolescents' bullying. However, the mediating and moderating mechanisms underlying this association remain largely unknown. The current study investigated the mediating role of moral disengagement between normative beliefs about aggression and bullying, as well as the moderating role of self-control in this relationship from the perspective of individual cognition.

A sample of 491 Chinese adolescents (female = 38.9%; mean age = 13.05 years) were study participants. They completed questionnaires about normative beliefs about aggression, bullying, moral disengagement and self-control. SPSS21.0 statistical software was used to collate the obtained data, analyze descriptive statistics, and carry out reliability analysis and correlation analysis.

The purposes of the present research were to assess the accuracy and usability of the inertial navigation system (INS).

The accuracy of the device navigation subsystem was assessed using benchtop testing. The usability was assessed through simulated use with surgeons. These results were compared to recent cadaveric results for the same system.

The navigation subsystem had an overall mean absolute error of 1.21° and a maximum absolute error across all devices of 4.79°. The device was found to be usable and to add an estimated 7 minutes to surgery time.

The cantilever method is a standard for two-dimensional deformity correction, as in spondylitis tuberculosis kyphotic deformity. An accurate and secured pedicle screw placement as part of the correction tools is essential to accommodate reduction while preventing screw-related complications. Many literatures have described the pedicle screw misplacement in cases with "normal" bone quality (ie, scoliosis, Scheuermann's kyphosis, ankylosing spondylitis, trauma) or in the obviously abnormal bone such as osteoporosis. However, to our knowledge, the pedicle screw accuracy in cases of deformity correction of tuberculous kyphosis was not previously reported.

This is a retrospective study of 168 pedicle screws in 14 consecutive cases of spondylitis tuberculosis with kyphotic deformity. The cantilever reduction method with freehand screw insertion technique was done in all cases to correct the deformity. Postoperative computed tomography (CT) evaluation was done to evaluate screw position and breach rates.
