There is limited research on mental health literacy among undergraduate nursing students in Australia. Overseas studies indicate significant gaps in students' knowledge and practice. The aims of this study were to (1) assess mental health literacy knowledge in undergraduate nursing students and compare these across year levels, and to (2) identify students' learning needs about mental health literacy in practice. A convenience sample of 114 Bachelor of Nursing students studying at one Australian University completed the online survey. Results showed that third-year students reported higher levels of mental health literacy compared to first- and second-year students. Almost 40% of students felt they did not have sufficient understanding of mental health literacy for practice. Explicit content and skill development are required to improve students' awareness of health literacy and inform their practice.
Urinary tract infection is a common cause of paediatric morbidity. However, there is no consensus on the default method for urine culture collection in children. This study aimed to examine the contamination rates of different urine collection methods.

This was a retrospective cohort study in a paediatric emergency department. Data were collected from electronic health records on all children whose urine culture samples were obtained in the paediatric emergency department between March 2018 and March 2019. Different methods of urine collection included the midstream (MS) method, clean catch (CC), transurethral bladder catheterisation and suprapubic aspiration. Contamination rates and positive urine culture rates were calculated and compared for sex, age, and collection method.

Urine culture samples were collected from 1507 children. There were 284 (18.8%) cultures that were positive with significant growth and 52 (3.5%) that were defined as 'contaminated'. The contamination rates for the midstream method in toilet-trained children were 1.6% (10/609), 4.9% (17/348) for CC in pre-continent children, 4.9% (25/515) for transurethral bladder catheterisation and 0% (0/35) (P = 0.006) for suprapubic aspiration. There was no significant difference in contamination rates of urine cultures collected by CC and catheterisation in the compared groups. The rates of positive cultures in the subgroup of children with high suspicion for Urinary tract infection were also found to be similar.

Upregulated oxidized low-density lipoprotein (ox-LDL) in the serum has been found to induce endothelial cells (ECs) apoptosis by increasing oxidative stress and promoting inflammatory response, which are essential mechanisms of AS development. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), which secrete exosomes to transport microRNAs (miRNAs) and regulate cell functions, have become a research focus in recent years. The results of this study manifested that MSCs-derived exosomes were phagocytosed by EC. In addition, miR-512-3p enriched by MSCs- derived exosomes markedly inhibited ox-LDL-mediated EC damage, namely, accelerated EC proliferation, inhibited Caspase-3 activation and cell apoptosis, inhibited the levels of inflammatory cytokines (tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin (IL)-1β, and IL-6) and oxidative factor MDA, and increased the contents of SOD and GSH-PX. Mechanistically, Keleh-like ECH-associated protein 1 (Keap1) was proved to be a functional target of miR-512-3p. Furthermore, silencing Keap1 limited ox-LDL-mediated EC cell dysfunction, while over-expressing Keap1 mitigated the exosomal miR-512-3p-mediated protective effect in Ox-LDL-induced EC. The above results confirmed that miR-512-3p shuttled by MSCs-derived exosomes protected EC against ox-LDL by targeting Keap1.The aim was to explore the experiences of sexually abused individuals as dental patients. Purposively selected were 13 informants (11 women) aged 19-56. Of all actions, cryopreservation of fibroblast cell cultures derived from an animal biopsy is considered a simple but efficient means. Nevertheless, preserving viable cell cultures of the common hippopotamus has not been achieved to our knowledge. To this end, we established and characterized fibroblast cell cultures from the skin sample of a newborn common hippopotamus in this study. By combining the tissue explant direct culture and enzymatic digestion methods, we isolated a great number of cells with typical fibroblastic morphology and high viability. Neither bacteria/fungi nor mycoplasma was detectable in the cell cultures throughout the study. The population doubling time was 34 h according to the growth curve. Karyotyping based on Giemsa staining showed that the cultured cells were diploid with 36 chromosomes in all, one pair of which was sex chromosomes.
