04). Our results indicated the temporal variability of park characteristics in providing calmer urban landscapes throughout the year.Freshwater is one of the most important resources for the ecosystem's sustenance and any nation's development. However, clean water bodies are exploited to cater to urban societies' growing demands and economic expansion. This has led to the scarcity of clean water on the planet since the last decade, which is a crucial environmental concern in the present time. Therefore, proper water quality assessment and better management plan integrated with city planning have become an essential need of the hour to combat the clean water stress problem. This study aims to frame a model to identify the potential sites suitable for water use and document an effective development plan for a highly industrialized, populated, planned, and critically polluted city. The potential strategic sites were identified based on the impact of water quality on factors such as human health and economy, which are directly linked to drinking, irrigation, fisheries, as well as industrial production. The relative importance of each criterion (weightage) was estimated using the analytical hierarchy process (AHP). The physico-chemical parameters of groundwater and surface water of the strategic locations were analyzed to calculate multi-purpose water quality index (WQI) and Ryznar suitability index (RSI). These indices were interpolated through a geospatial tool and reclassified using a scoring system to a uniform scale. These thematic maps were weighted overlaid through the GIS model builder tool in GIS interface to develop suitability maps through developed potential site index (PSI) of the ground as well as surface water. The final suitability maps were used to identify the potential strategic sites for various uses such as drinking, fishery, irrigation, and industries, which can be considered by the planners for improvising the city planning. Various management practices were also drawn through these maps, which will safeguard human health as well as the environment.Water quality index and chemometric methods were employed to assess the groundwater quality and contamination sources in the upper Ganges basin (UGB) and lower Ganges basin (LGB) as groundwater is a sole source for drinking, domestic and agricultural uses. Groundwater samples were collected from UGB (n = 44) and LGB (n = 26) and analysed for physicochemical parameters. Groundwater in this basin is desirable (51%) to permissible (TDS less then 1000 mg/l, 96%) classes for drinking. Chemical constituents in the groundwater are lower than the maximum allowable limit recommended by the WHO for drinking except K. Drinking water quality index (DWQI) values reveal that groundwater belongs to excellent (89%) and good (10%) classes. However, the high concentrations of Fe and Mn in 61 and 77% of samples, respectively, restrict the usage for drinking according to USEPA recommendations. Both LGB and UGB groundwater in shallow wells have elevated concentration of TDS, EC and other ions (Ca2+, Cl- and SO42- in LGB; major ions, NO3-, PO43-, F-, Fe and Mn in UGB) and imply the influences of anthropogenic activities. Principal component analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis reiterated that groundwater quality is affected by the anthropogenic activities as well as mineral dissolutions (carbonate and silicate minerals). This study highlighted that the infiltration of wastewater from various contamination sources likely triggered the dissolution of the minerals in the vadose zone that resulted in the accumulation of ions in the shallow aquifer. An effective management plan is essential to protect this shallow aquifer. This study highlights the reproductive biology of Hooghly Croaker, Panna heterolepis Trewavas, 1977 which is one of the dominant fish in the Bay of Bengal (Bangladesh) based on monthly sampling of 569 female individuals from January to December 2019. We observed the effect of different environmental factors (temperature, rainfall, dissolved oxygen, and pH) on the reproduction of P. heterolepis. Measurements of each individual like total length (TL) and body weight (BW) were taken by using of measuring board and digital balance. Gonads were carefully removed through ventral dissection from females and weighed to 0.01 g accuracy. To assess the size at sexual maturity (Lm), spawning season, and its peak, the GSI (gonadosomatic index in %), MGSI (modified gonadosomatic index in %), and DI (Dobriyal index) were considered. Based on these indices, the Lm was documented 15.0 cm in TL. Moreover, L50 was predicted by logistic calculation as 15.0 cm TL. Furthermore, greater values of GSI, MGSI, and DI values denoted the spawning season as of January to July, with a peak in February. Additionally, Fulton's condition factor (KF) was significantly correlated with GSI values. In addition, GSI was statistically correlated with temperature. However, other environmental factors (rainfall, dissolved oxygen, and pH) did not show any significant relation with GSI. Finally, the outcomes of our study might be useful to carry out specific management programs for P. heterolepis in the Bay of Bengal and nearby aquatic ecosystem.Prognosis in patients with post allogeneic HCT-early relapse of acute myeloid leukemia ( less then 6 months post HCT) is dismal and response to salvage treatment is less then  20%. In addition, majority of patients at this early point are unable to withstand intensive salvage chemotherapy. We hypothesized that the combination of donor lymphocyte infusion (DLI) and venetoclax may result in increased response in this difficult to treat patient group. We retrospectively analyzed 22 patients from February 2017-December 2019, who were given the Venetoclax/DLI combination. Median age was 65 (43-75) years. There were no cases of tumor lysis syndrome. selleck chemicals Microbiology documented infections occurred in 8 patients (36%). Majority were able to tolerate the protocol without admissions. Acute GVHD was observed in 4 (18%) patients and cGVHD was observed in 6 (27%) patients. Overall response was observed in 11 (50%) patients (CR, n = 4; CRi, n = 1; CRp, n = 4; MLFS n = 2). Median time to response was 28 (18-67) days and median cycles of venetoclax 2 [1-8] and duration of response were 135 (31-564) days. Median survival was 6.1 months (95% CI .73-11.4). Cox regression model for survival showed decreased WBC at relapse, GVHD and better performance status were associated with better survival. These results may endorse the hypothesis that enhancing alloreactivity combined with venetoclax is safe and efficacious and should be further investigated in prospective trials.
To validate the differential stress inventory (DSI) by evaluating the objective and subjective stress differences in the five DSI types in the occupational setting.

A total of 119 German participants working as medical assistants (n = 40) or in a bank (n = 79) were recruited. They completed the Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey, the DSI, and wore ECG measuring devices for 24h to measure heart rate variability. The DSI was used to group people into one of five types according to how they perceived and coped with stress normal, overstressed, stress-resistant, low stress/high coping, or high stress/high coping.

The overstressed type had significantly more burnout symptoms than the other types. The high stress/high coping type also had more symptoms of emotional exhaustion and total burnout compared to the other types, while the low stress/high coping and the stress-resistant types generally had the lowest levels of burnout. There were no differences on the HRV parametersamong the DSI types.

Categorising people into types like in the DSI can help make workers aware of unhealthy stress and coping patterns before they turn into more severe pathology. Proper application and targeted preventive measures can save the individual's health and the company's budget. While the DSI picked up on differences in burnout symptoms as a long-term consequence of stress, there is evidence that it cannot pick up on short-term stress or physical stress as measured by HRV from the 24h recording.

Insulin resistance is an important factor in the pathogenesis of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which is associated with higher risk of metabolic syndrome (MetS) and cardiovascular complications. Early atherosclerotic lesions may be diagnosed by ultrasonographic parameters brachial artery flow-mediated dilation after reactive hyperaemia (FMD) and intima-media thickness of common carotid artery (IMT). The aim of the study was to assess the relation of IMT and FMD with clinical and laboratory parameters reflecting metabolic status in young women with different PCOS phenotypes.

The study included 154 PCOS patients diagnosed with the Rotterdam criteria, divided into four phenotypes, and 113 healthy women. Laboratory analyses, transvaginal ultrasound, and IMT and FMD measurements were conducted. MetS was diagnosed with International Diabetes Federation/American Heart Association (IDF/AHA) consensus criteria.

MetS was more prevalent in PCOS patients than healthy women (14.29 vs. 5.31%; p = 0.019), with highest prevalence in phenotypes I and II (p = 0.039). IMT and FMD did not differ between PCOS patients and the controls, nor between the PCOS phenotypes. PCOS patients with MetS presented lower FMD than other PCOS patients (p = 0.018). In women with PCOS, FMD correlated with glucose and insulin concentrations in the fasting state (R = -0.33, p = 0.002; R = -0.23, p = 0.026) and at 2 h of OGTT (R = -0.29, p = 0.006; R = -0.26, p = 0.014). In patients with phenotype I, correlations were found between IMT and BMI (R = 0.45, p = 0.006) and between FMD and fasting glucose concentrations (R = -0.46, p = 0.011).

Metabolic disturbances and the diagnosis of MetS in patients with PCOS, especially in hyperandrogenic phenotypes, might be associated with alterations in IMT and FMD.

The objective of this study was to identify microorganisms involved in sulfide oxidation in the tailings of a Bahia Gold Belt mine (Brazil). Samples of solids and water were collected at the mine tailings dam and characterized. The microorganisms were isolated after enrichment and subsequent purification. The major constituents of the tailings are Si, Fe, Al, S, and K. The sulfur content of the tailings is 0.98%. The major phases are quartz, muscovite, and clinochlore. Gravity concentrates of the tailings show several particles of pyrite, that is, the major sulfide phase. Molecular analysis identified the microorganisms isolated in the acid mine drainage process in this region. Five bacterium species were found Acidithiobacillus spp., Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans, Acidiphilium spp., Leptospirillum type II, and Sulfobacillus spp.
