In recent years, the ambient ozone concentration in China has shown an upward trend, and high-quality prediction of ozone concentrations has become critical to support effective policymaking. In this study, a novel hybrid model combining wavelet decomposition (WD), a gated recurrent unit (GRU) neural network and a support vector regression (SVR) model was developed to predict the daily maximum 8 h ozone. We used the ground ozone observation data in six representative megacities across China from Jan. 1, 2015 to Jun. 15, 2020 for model training, and we used data from Jun. 15 to Dec. 31, 2020 for model testing. The results show that the developed model performs very well for megacities; against observations, the model obtains an average cross-validated R2 (coefficient of determination) ranging from 0.90 for Shanghai to 0.97 for Chengdu in the one-step predictions, thereby indicating that the model outperformed any single algorithm or other hybrid algorithms reported. The developed model can also capture high ozone pollution episodes with an average accuracy of 92% for the next five days in inland cities. This study will be useful for the environmental health community to prevent high ozone exposure more efficiently in megacities in China and shows great potential for accurate ozone prediction using machine learning approaches.Sustainability has become a focus area for practitioners and scholars due to the growing socio-economic issues. The sustainability of airport operations is being raised in various international platforms. This paper aims to identify the dimensions of sustainability and evaluate sustainable practices in airports of selected ASEAN countries. The various dimensions associated with the environmental aspect are energy management, emissions management, water and effluents management, solid waste management. It was understood that noise management, employee development, and community investment belong to the social dimension. Similarly, the factors such as economic contribution, passenger experience, airport safety, and security are inclined to economic dimensions of sustainability. It was found that environmentally sustainable practices have greater importance than social and economic initiatives in the airport context which provide quantifiable benefits for airports in the long term. Airport operators in South Eassed will be valuable resource for airports striving to achieve sustainability goals.
The current study aimed to investigate the possible interplay between self-compassion and affect during Mindfulness-Based Compassionate Living (MBCL) in recurrently depressed individuals.
Data was used from a subsample of a parallel-group randomized controlled trial investigating the efficacy of MBCL in recurrently depressed adults (n=104). Self-reports of self-compassion and positive/negative affect were obtained at the start of each of the eight MBCL sessions.
Bivariate Autoregressive Latent Trajectory (ALT) modeling showed that, when looking at the interplay between self-compassion and positive/negative affect on a session-to-session basis, no significant reciprocal cross-lagged effects between self-compassion and positive affect were found. Although there were no cross-lagged effects from negative affect to self-compassion, higher levels of self-compassion at each session did predict lower levels of negative affect at the subsequent session (b
=-0.182, s.e.=0.076, p=.017).

Therefore, evaluation of adaptive responses is necessary to achieve outdoor scale-up cultivation of cyanobacteria. Under current study, cyanobacterium Synechococcus elongatusPCC7942 engineered for ethylene biosynthesis, was gradually acclimatised, ensuring sustained and progressive transition from laboratory to outdoor conditions. Bubble size of 4.9 ± 0.2 mm and air-flow rate of 0.05 vvm in BG11 supplemented with 5 g/L bicarbonate giving mass transfer coefficient (KLa) of 10.48 h-1 yielded highest specific growth rate (0.24 h-1) with the transformants. At the 100 L photobioreactor scale, ethylene productivity of 1.5 mL.L-1.h-1 was achieved. A comprehensive investigation on photosynthetic responses of the transformants adapted to the outdoor conditions exhibited interesting photosynthetic electron transport regulations, involving antenna density modulation in response to diurnal and dynamic light transitions, indicating successful transition.The study evaluated the biosynthesis of lutein and β-carotene by Scenedesmus sp. SVMIICT1 under five different light intensities (50, 250, 500, 750 and 1000 µE/m2/s). Liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS) was used to determine relative quantities of lutein and β-carotene. Relatively, high lutein content of 1.43 ± 0.04 and 0.70 ± 0.02 mg/g was found with 50 and 500 µE/m2/s conditions respectively. β-Carotene content was quantified as 0.15 ± 0.01, 0.1 ± 0.01 and 0.12 ± 0.02 mg/g with 50, 250 and 500 µE/m2/s conditions respectively. The light intensities altered photosystem II and photosystem I. At 50 µE intensity, high chlorophyll content and high photosystem II quantum efficiency (FV/FM) was observed. Low FV/FM ratio of around 0.3 was detected in high light intensities (750 µE and 1000 µE) due to photoinhibition. Lipid fraction increased with increasing light intensity and the fatty acid profiles were similar in all five conditions.A comprehensive polyphasic evaluation of a microalgal isolate Scenedesmus sp. SVMIICT1 through morphological, biochemical, photosynthetic characterization, next-generation sequencing and lipid pathway analysis was reported. The strain was cultivated photo-autotrophically, where the maximum photosynthetic yield (FV/FM) of 0.75 was observed on the 4th day with optimal PSII photochemical efficiency. The present study compared the hydrochars prepared at different conditions (260 °C-1 h, 260 °C-8 h, 320 °C-1 h and 320 °C-8 h) on AD of glucose. Hydrochar prepared at lower temperature and residence time (260 °C-1 h) resulted in the highest methane production rate, which was 237% higher of control experiment without hydrochar. Modification of hydrochar (260 °C-1 h) by ball-milling further increased the capacity to increase methane production rate. Hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL) conditions affected the surface oxygen-containing functional groups that related with DIET, and hydrochar (260 °C-1 h) had higher peaks relating with C-O and O-H functional groups. Ball-milling enhanced the formation of such groups. Cyclopamine Microbial analysis showed hydrochar (260 °C-1 h) by ball-milling resulted in the formation of different microbial communities as compared with control experiments, and Azospira and Methanosarcina were enriched, which might be involved in DIET.Orange waste (OW), an abundant and severe globally environmental treat, was used for biobutanol and biohydrogen production emploing acetone-butanol-ethanol (ABE) fermentation through a biorefinery process. The solvent yield from untreated OW was insufficient; thus, the substrate was subjected to hydrothermal pretreatment before hydrolysis. The pretreatment at 140 ℃ for 30 min resulted in the solid with the highest yield of hydrolysis and fermentation. Moreover, the anaerobic digestion of hydrolysis residue produced appreciable amounts of biomethane. However, the pretreatment liquor was not fermentable; thus, it was detoxified by overliming for 24 h at 30 ℃ and then fermented. Overall, this sustainable biorefinery, based on pretreatment without any additional chemical agent, hydrolysis of pretreated solids, detoxification of pretreatment liquor, ABE fermentation, and anaerobic digestion of residues, produced 42.3 g biobutanol, 33.1 g acetone, 13.4 g ethanol, 104.5 L biohydrogen, and 28.3 L biomethane per kg of OW that contained 4560 kJ energy.The thermophilic anaerobic digestion of food waste was a long-term challenge for maintaining process stability. A hybrid submerged anaerobic membrane bioreactor (AnMBR), integrating 27%(v/v) polyurethane sponge as fixed carriers were therefore investigated at (50 ± 2) °C. The organics removal efficiencies, COD mass balance, and membrane filtration performance were investigated in a 75-days continuously operated experiment. The results showed that methane production reached 0.31 L/(kg·COD) under an organic loading rate of 7.3 kg·COD/(m3·d). The low concentration of total volatile fatty acids of 247 ~ 274 mg/L and a high proportion of Methanosarcina (>97%) represented the high stability of the thermophilic process. Approximately 21% of biomass grew on the carriers in the hybrid AnMBR and induced a much lower suspended solids concentration and viscosity of bulk sludge. Noticeable lower trans-membrane pressure was consequently observed. The affecting factors identified by PCA analysis proved the advantages of the hybrid AnMBR for alleviating membrane fouling formation.Semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs) can be found in air, dust and on surfaces in car cabins, leading to exposure to humans via dust ingestion, inhalation, and dermal contact. This review aims at describing current understanding concerning sampling, levels, and human exposure of SVOCs from car cabin environments. To date, several different methods are used to sample SVOCs in car cabin air and dust and there are no standard operating procedures for sampling SVOCs in cars detailed in the literature. The meta-analysis of SVOCs in car cabin air and dust shows that brominated flame retardants (BFRs) and organophosphate flame retardants (OPFRs) have been most frequently studied, primarily focusing on concentrations in dust. In dust, detected concentrations span over three to seven orders of magnitude, with highest median concentrations for OPFRs, followed by BFRs and, thereafter, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). In air, the variation is smaller, spanning over one to three orders of magnitude, with phthalates and siloxanes having the highest median concentrations, followed by OPFRs, fluorotelomer alcohols (FTOHs) and BFRs.
