To evaluate quantified iodine mapping parameters in dual-energy computed tomography in normal patients versus those with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) with and without pulmonary thromboembolism.
Using automatically quantified iodine mapping in dual-energy computed tomography, we evaluated lung relative average enhancement, standard deviation (SD), and the SD/lung relative average enhancement ratio. We compared the values for these parameters in normal patients versus those with CTEPH. We also performed a receiver operating characteristic curve analysis to determine the diagnostic cutoffs for the parameters.
Patients constituted 41 patients (10 male [24.4%] and 31 female [75.6%]; mean age [SD] 70.0 y [13.3]) with CTEPH and 237 (92 male [38.8%] and 145 female [61.2%]; mean age [SD] 65.9 y [15.9]) normal patients. We found significant differences in lung relative average enhancement (34.9±6.3 vs. 26.9±6.3; P <0.0001), SD (11.6±1.9 vs. 14.7±3.3; P <0.001), and the SD/lung relative average enhancement ratio (33.7±5.0 vs. 55.7±10.4; P <0.001) between the normal and CTEPH groups, respectively. The ROC analyses demonstrated high discriminatory power (area under the curve=0.99) for using the SD/lung relative average enhancement ratio to differentiate between patients in the normal group and CTEPH group. At a threshold for the area under the curve of 44.2, diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value for the ratio were 92.7%, 97.5%, 86.5%, and 98.7%, respectively.
Patients with CTEPH were well-discriminated from normal patients using the SD/lung relative average enhancement ratio.

Risk factors, including lymphatic/vascular/perineural invasion, are considered indication for adjuvant treatment in stage II colon cancer. However, tumor budding is not included in the above risk factors.

Disease free survival and overall survival were the primary end points.

This research is a descriptive study aiming at revealing the difference between alexithymia levels and childhood period trauma experience levels according to variables discussed, of students who study in different high schools. In the study, quantitative method and relational survey model have been used. Five hundred ninety-nine students (57.3% female, 42.7% male) studying in 7 different high schools located in a city in the Southeastern Anatolian Region of Turkey in 2018-2019 school year constitutes the study group of the research. The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in closure of schools and playgrounds while requiring social distancing, changes that likely affected youth sports participation. The purpose of this study was to identify changes in the epidemiology of pediatric sports injuries during the COVID-19 pandemic.
This retrospective cohort study included patients between the ages of 4 and 18 years who presented to orthopaedic clinics within a single children's hospital network with an acute injury sustained during athletic activity between March 20, 2020, and June 3, 2020 (the strictest period of state-level shelter-in-place orders). These patients were compared with those within the same dates in 2018 and 2019. Chi square and Mann-Whitney U tests were used, as appropriate.
Significantly less sports injuries were seen during the pandemic (n = 257) compared with the same dates in 2018 (n = 483) and 2019 (n = 444) despite more providers available in 2020 (P < 0.001). Thus, the objective of this study was to estimate whether use of GLP-1 receptor agonists and DPP-4 inhibitors, separately, is associated with a decreased risk of prostate cancer among patients with type 2 diabetes.
We assembled two new-user, active-comparator cohorts using the UK Clinical Practice Research Datalink (2007 to 2019). The first cohort included 5,063 initiators of GLP-1 receptor agonists and 112,955 of sulfonylureas. The second cohort included 53,529 initiators of DPP-4 inhibitors and 114,417 of sulfonylureas. We fit Cox proportional hazards models to estimate adjusted hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for prostate cancer. We weighted the models using propensity score fine stratification, which considered over 50 potential confounders.
GLP-1 receptor agonists were associated with a decreased risk of prostate cancer when compared with sulfonylureas (incidence rates = 156.4 vs. 232.0 per 100,000 person-years, respectively; HR = 0.65; 95% CI = 0.43, 0.99). DPP-4 inhibitors were also associated with a decreased risk of prostate cancer when compared with sulfonylureas (incidence rates = 316.2 vs. 350.5 events per 100,000 person-years, respectively; HR = 0.90; 95% CI = 0.81, 1.00).
The results of this study are consistent with the hypothesis that the use of GLP-1 receptor agonists and DPP-4 inhibitors, separately, may decrease the risk of prostate cancer when compared with the use of sulfonylureas.

One hundred thirty reports were retrieved from January 2017 to June 2020, referring to assaults committed by patients (71% males) with an average age of 29.8 years (SD, 14.9). The most frequent psychiatric diagnosis was a neurodevelopmental disorder (33%). Physical aggression (84%) was more frequent than the other types of aggression. Nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel were the most frequent victims (65%). Aggressions were more frequent on Friday (18%) and between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. (35%). A total of 64.9% of the incidents happened in the first 5 days of hospitalization. A significant association between physical aggression and diagnosis of neurodevelopmental disorder emerged. IRS could be helpful to identify high-risk patient groups and develop clinical strategies to reduce adverse events in clinical practice.
