We aim to evaluate the supplementary predictive value of soft tissue markers, including fetal limb volumes, for fetal birth weight and fat tissue weight.

This is a prospective study of 60 patients undergoing term induction of labor. Ultrasound was performed 48 h before birth, and 2D sonographic measurements, subcutaneous tissue thickness, and 3D fetal limb volumes were taken. Birth weight and neonatal fat weight were assessed by plethysmography. Clinical data were collected. The relation between ultrasound and neonatal outcomes was assessed by univariate and multivariate predictive models. The estimated and actual birth weights were compared applying different published formulas, and systematic and random error were collected and compared.

In this pilot study, a total of 25 patients (mean age 43.3 years, SD 16.2) with an affective disorder or schizophrenic disease (ICD-10 F3.X or F2.X) and 25 healthy volunteers (mean age 46.1 years, SD 15.4) were compared for sociodemographic factors and psychometric findings, as well as pareidolias and creativity.

Despite rapid population aging, there are currently limited data on the incidence of aging-related cognitive impairment in sub-Saharan Africa. We aimed to determine the incidence of cognitive impairment and its distribution across key demographic, social, and health-related factors among older adults in rural South Africa.

Data were from in-person interviews with 3,856 adults aged ≥40 who were free from cognitive impairment at baseline in the population-representative cohort, "Health and Aging in Africa a Longitudinal Study of an INDEPTH Community in South Africa" (HAALSI), in Agincourt sub-district, Mpumalanga province, South Africa (2014-19). Our purpose was to evaluate the predictive value of the lung immune prognostic index (LIPI) in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) receiving different treatments.

A systemic literature search of major databases of medicine was performed to explore the association of LIPI with different therapeutic effects in patients with advanced NSCLC, with overall survival (OS) as the surrogate marker. As such, HR and 95% CI were simultaneously selected to evaluate such an association.

A total of 4 studies involving 7,373 patients reported an association of the LIPI score with OS in advanced NSCLC patients. Further sorted by therapeutic regimen, the numbers of patients receiving immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI), targeted therapy (TT), and chemotherapy (CT) were 3,651, 1,241, and 2,481, respectively.
