The disorganized arrangement of ameloblasts, especially in the maturation stage, was observed in p130CasΔepi- mice. Furthermore, expression levels of enamel matrix proteins, such as amelogenin and ameloblastin in the secretory stage, and functional markers, such as alkaline phosphatase and iron accumulation, and Na+/Ca2++K+-exchanger in the maturation stage were reduced in p130CasΔepi- mice. Here, we isolated exosomes from the supernatant of osteoblasts and identified the exosome characterization through transmission electron microscopy (TEM), nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA), and western blot assay. In addition, we found that exosomes and miR-503-3p secreted by osteoblasts inhibited the differentiation of osteoclast progenitor cells. Meanwhile, we found that Hpse (heparanase gene) was a target gene of miR-503-3p and miR-503-3p inhibited the osteoclast differentiation through downregulating the expression of Hpse. In summary, our results demonstrated the roles and the mechanism of osteoblast-derived exosomes inhibited the osteoclast differentiation via miR-503-3p/Hpse axis.
In this study, we taught learners the interpretation of the bundle branch block in two ways of storytelling and usual lecture, then compare the effect of these two methods on the level of learning and satisfaction. Storytelling can lead to deep learning, promoted critical thinking of students and enhanced clinical skills. It is an effective teaching method engaging nursing and midwifery students in clinical education.

A quasi-experimental study.

We conducted this study in the training hospital, Ardabil, Iran, from 2019 to 2020. We selected 70 nursing students of semesters 6th and 7th through convenience sampling then allocated them randomly into two groups of intervention (n=40) and control (n=30). We taught the same topics to the intervention group via the storytelling method and the control group via lecturing. Data collection tools included a standard questionnaire of satisfaction with the teaching method and learning how to interpret an electrocardiogram. Data were analyzed using chi-square and indeam interpretation to nursing students first through lecturing and then stabilize the concepts in their minds through storytelling.

Teamwork skills are vital for safe, effective nursing care and are dependent on individual team members' shared understandings or intersubjectivity. Work-based learning circles offer a potential pedagogic strategy to promote teamwork.

In work-based learning circles conducted in 2018, students drew a concept map based on a clinical case and discussed an element of it with the group. Using a convergent parallel mixed methods design, a cross-sectional survey of students using a student clinical experience questionnaire and a qualitative descriptive approach for interviews with clinical facilitators was conducted.

Overall, 128 Bachelor of Nursing students (88.9% response) completed the survey and five facilitators (50%) attended group interviews. Students agreed that core teamwork skills were developed during their placement and clinical facilitators reported (1) student engagement in the learning circle processes; (2) learning much about students' abilities; and (3) developing subtle teaching skills to enhance discussion. Sharing experiences from different wards and clinical experiences was a platform for developing intersubjectivity.

To promote intra-professional teamwork skills, conducting learning circles with students from different disciplines may further enhance intersubjectivity and is an area for further research.

To aim of this systematic review was to explore the relationship between Human papillomavirus (HPV) and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) related to the prognosis of oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC).

For this systematic review, searches were performed in PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, Science Direct, and Cochrane, and a random-effects model was used for meta-analysis. The presence of EMT was confirmed by the loss of E-cadherin immunoexpression and overexpression of vimentin.

In summary, EMT-related proteins were expressed regardless of HPV status; however, overall survival was better in HPV-positive OPSCC cases, with a 5.88 times lower death risk compared to HPV-negative patients (OR=0.17; 95%CI=0.10-0.30). Likewise, the maintenance of E-cadherin in OPSCC was associated with an 11.11 times lower risk of death due to the disease (OR=0.09; 95%CI=0.01-0.88).

Triptolide is naturally isolated from Tripterygium wilfordii Hook F., possessing multiple biological activities. Hepatotoxicity is one of the main side effects of triptolide. However, the effect of triptolide on nonalcoholic fatty liver disease remains unknown (NAFLD).

This study aimed to observe the amelioration of triptolide against NAFLD and investigate the engaged mechanism.

Two typical animal models of NAFLD, obese db/db mice and methionine/choline-deficient (MCD) diet-fed mice, were used. Hepatic steatosis, inflammation, and fibrosis were evaluated by H&E and Masson staining. Oil red O staining and lipid extraction analysis were used to detect fat content in mice livers. Expression of lipid metabolism, inflammatory and fibrogenic genes was also detected by Real-time PCR and Western blotting, respectively. Phosphoproteomics, molecular docking, and TR-FRET assay were performed to provide further insight into how triptolide improved NAFLD.

Intraperitoneal injection of triptolide at a daily dose fatty acid oxidation, and fibrosis of NAFLD via activating AMPK were further confirmed in db/db mice with 10-week intervention (50 μg/kg, i.v., twice a week).
