It may arise from liver infection or as a consequence of resection and thermal ablation of cancer. Currently, there is no consensus about the treatment strategy. Surgery is considered the main therapy by most authors. However, this systematic literature review shows that the success rate of percutaneous treatments may reach 75%. Adding to such evidence, we also report the case of a woman affected by iatrogenic bronchobiliary fistula secondary to liver thermal ablation, successfully treated with percutaneous drainage plus embolization. Summarizing these results, we encourage the percutaneous management of bronchobiliary fistula by providing a 3-step decision-making algorithm, aimed at reducing the need for major surgery.Complex oncological treatment can be associated with lymphatic vascular injury that is burdened by considerable morbidity. Lymphatic imaging and interventional techniques offer new minimally invasive treatment options. We report the case of a 59-year-old woman with an unusual lympho-veno-cutaneous fistula, diagnosed by magnetic resonance lymphangiography and treated by minimally invasive embolization therapy and venous recanalization.Two novel fluorescent peptide-based chemosensors, including A (2-amino-benzoyl-Ser-Glu-Glu-NH2) and B (2-amino-benzoyl-Ala-Glu-Pro-Glu-Ala-Glu-Pro-NH2) were synthesized and characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra. These fluorescent probes exhibited excellent selective and sensitive responses to Al3+ ions over other metal ions in aqueous buffered solutions. The limits of detection for both chemosensors towards the Al3+ ions were in the order of ∼10-7 M (A 155 nM and B 195 nM), which clearly indicates that these probes have significant potential for biological applications. They also displayed high binding affinity (1.3029 × 104 M-1 and 1.7586 × 104 M-1 relevant to A and B respectively). These two chemosensors are great analytical probes that produce turn-on responses upon binding to Al3+ ions through an intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) mechanism. In addition, the application of both chemosensors was examined over a wide range of pH. The fluorescent peptide-based probes and Al3+ form a 11 coordination complex according to the ESI-MS and Job's plot analysis. Notably, upon addition of Al3+ to these chemosensors, a fluorescence enhancement of approximately 8-fold was observed and the binding mode was determined using NMR titration and fluorescence emission data.Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) are artificially synthesized materials to mimic the molecular recognition process of biological macromolecules such as substrate-enzyme or antigen-antibody. The combination of these biomimetic materials with electrochemical techniques has allowed the development of advanced sensing devices, which significantly improve the performance of bare or catalyst-modified sensors, being able to unleash new applications. However, despite the high selectivity that MIPs exhibit, those can still show some cross-response towards other compounds, especially with chemically analogous (bio)molecules. Thus, the combination of MIPs with chemometric methods opens the room for the development of what could be considered a new type of electronic tongues, i.e. sensor array systems, based on its usage. In this direction, this review provides an overview of the more common synthetic approaches, as well as the strategies that can be used to achieve the integration of MIPs and electrochemical sensors, followed by some recent examples over different areas in order to illustrate the potential of such combination in very diverse applications.Osteoporosis is a disease of low bone mass which leads to an increased risk of fracture. The prevalence of osteoporosis is greatest amongst postmenopausal women who also form a large portion of patients with osteoarthritis presenting for total knee arthroplasty. MLi-2 We present a case of a 77-year-old female with knee osteoarthritis and osteoporosis on denosumab who underwent robotic-assisted total knee arthroplasty. Postoperatively, she suffered an atraumatic midshaft femur fracture at the pin site associated with the use of intraoperative robotic technology. This is a unique complication related to the use of robotics which requires additional skeletal fixation versus standard arthroplasty surgical technique. We recommend caution and further study regarding the use of robotics in total knee arthroplasty in the setting of osteoporosis and denosumab use.Higher risk of fracture reported in individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) might be linked to poor bone health and development in childhood. This study aimed to systematically review studies comparing imaged bone outcomes between children with ASD and typically developing children (TDC) or reference data, and to perform a meta-analysis comparing commonly reported bone outcomes. We searched articles published since August 2020 from PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, EMBASE, and Scopus databases. We included studies comparing areal bone mineral density (aBMD) between children with ASD and TDC in the qualitative analysis (meta-analysis), and evaluated other imaged bone outcomes qualitatively. Seven publications were identified for the systematic review, and four studies were included in the meta-analysis. The meta-analysis indicated lower aBMD at the total body (standardized mean difference = - 0.77; 95% CI, - 1.26 to - 0.28), lumbar spine (- 0.69; - 1.00 to - 0.39), total hip (- 1.00; - 1.82 to - 0.17), and femoral neck (- 1.07; - 1.54 to - 0.60) in children with ASD compared to TDC. Based on our qualitative review, limited evidence suggested 13% lower bone mineral content at the total body and 10-20% lower cortical area, cortical and trabecular thickness, and bone strength at the distal radius and tibia in children with ASD. Children with ASD have lower aBMD at the total body, lumbar spine, and hip and femoral neck compared to TDC. Limited evidence also suggests deficits in bone mineral content, micro-architecture, and strength in children with ASD.

Eight NET patients received a [
F]SiTATE-PET/CT (250 ± 66MBq) with repeated emission scans (10, 30, 60, 120, 180min after injection). Biodistribution in normal organs and SSR-positive tumour uptake were assessed. Dosimetry estimates for risk organs were determined using a combined linear-monoexponential model, and by applying
F S-values and reference target masses for the ICRP89 adult male or female (OLINDA 2.0). Tumour-to-background ratios were compared quantitatively and visually between different scan times.

After 1 h, normal organs showed similarality and tumour-to-background contrast is reached at 120 min, followed by 60 min after injection.
Fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography combined with computed tomography (FDG PET/CT) is the standard for staging aggressive non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). Limited data from prospective studies is available to determine whether initial staging by FDG PET/CT provides treatment-relevant information of bone marrow (BM) involvement (BMI) and thus could spare BM biopsy (BMB).

Patients from PETAL (NCT00554164) and OPTIMAL>60 (NCT01478542) with aggressive B-cell NHL initially staged by FDG PET/CT and BMB were included in this pooled analysis. The reference standard to confirm BMI included a positive BMB and/or FDG PET/CT confirmed by targeted biopsy, complementary imaging (CT or magnetic resonance imaging), or concurrent disappearance of focal FDG-avid BM lesions with other lymphoma manifestations during immunochemotherapy.

Among 930 patients, BMI was detected by BMB in 85 (prevalence 9%) and by FDG PET/CT in 185 (20%) cases, for a total of 221 cases (24%). All 185 PET-positive cases were true positive, and 709 of 745 PET-negative cases were true negative. For BMB and FDG PET/CT, sensitivity was 38% (95% confidence interval [CI] 32-45%) and 84% (CI 78-88%), specificity 100% (CI 99-100%) and 100% (CI 99-100%), positive predictive value 100% (CI 96-100%) and 100% (CI 98-100%), and negative predictive value 84% (CI 81-86%) and 95% (CI 93-97%), respectively. In all of the 36 PET-negative cases with confirmed BMI patients had other adverse factors according to IPI that precluded a change of standard treatment. Thus, the BMB would not have influenced the patient management.

In patients with aggressive B-cell NHL, routine BMB provides no critical staging information compared to FDG PET/CT and could therefore be omitted.

NCT00554164 and NCT01478542.There is growing interest in how social processes and behaviour might be affected in Parkinson's disease. A task which has been widely used to assess how people orient attention in response to social cues is the spatial cueing task. Socially relevant directional cues, such as a picture of someone gazing or pointing to the left or the right have been shown to cause orienting of visual attention in the cued direction. The basal ganglia may play a role in responding to such directional cues, but no studies to date have examined whether similar social cueing effects are seen in people with Parkinson's disease. In this study, patients and healthy controls completed a prosaccade (Experiment 1) and an antisaccade task (Experiment 2) in which the target was preceded by arrow, eye gaze or pointing finger cues. Patients showed increased errors and response times for antisaccades but not prosaccades. Healthy participants made most anticipatory errors on pointing finger cue trials, but Parkinson's patients were equally affected by arrow, eye gaze and pointing cues. It is concluded that Parkinson's patients have a reduced ability to suppress responding to directional cues, but this effect is not specific to social cues.Darier disease and Hailey-Hailey disease are severe, monogenetic dermatological disorders with mutations affecting all cells, making them liable to exhibit extra-dermal symptoms. The aim of this study is to assess broad cognitive function in individuals with these diseases, using an experimental, case-control set-up comparing cognition in patients with that in healthy controls matched for age, sex and level of education. Cognition was assessed with the Cambridge Neuropsycho-logical Test Automated Battery. Patients with Darier disease (n = 29) performed significantly poorer on 5 of the 10 key cognitive measurements, while patients with Hailey-Hailey disease (n = 25) did not perform differently from controls. The main conclusion is that patients with Darier disease exhibit significant impairment in cognitive function, which reinforces the view that Darier disease should be regarded as a disorder affecting multiple organs, and should therefore be given medical consideration, and possibly treat-ment, as such.
