More remarkably, the application of CQDs for monitoring the trace level of Fe3+ ion in tap water yielded acceptable recoveries (103.33%-105%). Therefore, this work provides a novel additional fluorescent probe for the detection of Fe3+ ion in real world. In the present work, we report the adsorption of the methylene blue (MB) dye from an aqueous solution employing resin immobilized gold nanocomposites (R-AuNCs) assisted surface-enhanced infrared absorption (SEIRA) spectroscopy. The appropriate adsorption isotherm models, including the Langmuir, Freundlich, and Temkin are tested to reveal the interactive behavior between the adsorbent (R-AuNCs) and adsorbed (MB). Interestingly, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) in combination with R-AuNC materials could be another approach through which the analysis of adsorption-desorption of MB on the surface of nanocomposite adsorbents is possible in a more precise way with high sensitivity and adsorptivity. In addition, a 10-fold enhancement of the signal intensity of MB dye was obtained due to the electrostatic interaction and H-bonding interaction between COO- groups of adsorbent and the positively charged active sites of the dye molecules. The value of % removal efficiency and % adsorption obtained in the present method was 77.64% and 186.61%, respectively. Desorption of MB from adsorbent surface was also carried out using 0.1 M cetylpyridinium chloride as cationic surfactant; resulting process shows for 'n' number of cyclic process. The maximum desorption capacity for MB found in the present investigation was 44.38 mg/g, The advantages of current method are its simplicity, sensitivity, rapidity, ease to fabrication and excellent adsorption efficiencies to remove MB dye from aqueous solution.Although many studies have shown that lncRNA, a non-coding RNA with a length of more than 200 bases, is involved in various biological functions, including the immune process, stress process, and cell development process. However, the function of lncRNA in abalone, especially in immunity, has been rarely studied. H. discus hannai and H. diversicolor are two main aquaculture abalone, and their growth is easily affected by the main pathogen Vibrio parahaemolyticus. Through rigorous screening procedures for transcripts in this study, we found that lncRNAs were 34,240, 23,022 in Haliotis diversicolor and H. discus hannai injected with V. parahaemolyticus, respectively. We also identified the unique and common lncRNAs and mRNAs of two abalone species for the first time; the shared lncRNAs and mRNAs in Haliotis diversicolor and H. discus hannai were 2352 and 13,165, respectively. Latent Autoimmune Diabetes of Adulthood (LADA) is different from type 2 diabetes. Present treatment protocols do not reflect that. DPP-4 and SGLT2 inhibitors have changed therapy. DPP-4 inhibitor use has shown delayed decline in beta-cell reserve in LADA. We studied patients with low c-peptide to assess relationship between c-peptide and anti-GAD65 antibody levels and compare DPP-4 inhibitors with SGLT2 inhibitors and sulphonylureas.

The study was an open-label trial conducted in 156 participants with low c-peptide (<0.8ng/mL), age>25 years, recently diagnosed diabetes with HBA1c≥6.5%. Participants were enrolled into three arms Group A received sulphonylureas+metformin, Group B received DPP-4 inhibitors+metformin, and Group C received SGLT-2 inhibitors+metformin. Serum anti-GAD-65 antibodies were assessed using sandwich ELISA. Participants were assessed on enrolment and after three months of dual pharmacotherapy.

The three arms were comparable on enrolment. 52% of participants with low c-peptide had high anti-GAD65 antibody titers. Significant differences were observed after three months - DPP-4 inhibitors reduced HbA1c by 1.1±0.3%, compared to SGLT2 inhibitors (0.8±0.13%) and sulphonylureas (0.7±0.3%) CONCLUSION DPP-4 inhibitors appear to provide better glycemic control than alternate therapeutic options in patients with low serum c-peptide.

There is a lack of bibliometric analytical studies on Diabetes Mellitus in Covid-19. As diabetes mellitus is a common co-morbidity associated with poor outcomes in Covid-19, we undertook a bibliometric analysis of the top 100 publications relating to this subject.

The top 100 cited papers were searched on Pubmed. Information about authors, month and year of publication, name of the journal, country of the affiliating institute of the first author, affiliation, total citations, citation density, type of study, type of paper, nature of the study, collaborations, number of affiliations and erratum details were collected.

The top 100 papers were published in 57 journals and were cited 53,374 times. Though most of the top 100 papers were written by first authors affiliated to institutes in the United States, the publication from China were the most influential. Two institutions from the United States had the highest number of affiliations of the first author. The Lancet was the most productive journal with the highest number of total citations (24,221).

This study gives valuable information to academicians and researchers regarding trends in the publication of the most influential articles on diabetes mellitus and Covid-19 infection.

Though testosterone replacement therapy in men with organic hypogonadism is established, its role in men with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and functional hypogonadism is unclear.

Thirteen experts addressed ten topic-specific questions after an in-depth review of literature, where all relevant issues were critically evaluated.

Ten recommendations concerning diagnosis and management of men with T2DM and functional hypogonadism have been put forward.

Routine measurement of serum testosterone in all, and inappropriate replacement of testosterone in asymptomatic T2DM men with functional hypogonadism and borderline low serum testosterone values, is not recommended.
