The main objective of this study was to determine the concurrent validity between a hand-held (HHD) and mounted hand-held dynamometer (MHHD) for assessing isometric neck strength.

Nineteen semi-professional rugby players (age=26±5 years, stature=186.5±6.5cm, body mass=98.7±12.8kg).

Absolute peak and mean peak force were systematically lower when using the HHD compared to MHHD, with the mean bias ranging from-1.8 to-3.8 kgf (P<0.05). Differences were not evident for flexion when applying the correction equations (-0.5 to 2.1 kgf, P>0.05) but remained for extension. Correlations between methods were large-to-very large; the ICCs for both methods were good (ICC=0.72-0.89), with no difference between positions (P<0.05).

Proper management and disposal of health care wastes (HCWs) are critical to win the fight. To achieve aforementioned tasks, prediction of their production is highly desired. In this study, primary data of production of three kinds of HCWs collected from Wuhan, the first epidemic epicenter worldwide and a mega city with more than 10 million population who has went through a lockdown period of 78 days, were reported for their first time. HCWs were classified into routine HCWs, infectious HCWs (IHCWs) and infectious municipal solid wastes. Among them, infectious HCWs from designated hospitals for COVID-19 were recognized as the most dangerous one. A multiple linear regression (MLR) model was built to predict the production of IHCWs with high significance. Numbers of patients were demonstrated high correlations with the production of IHCWs in an order of confirmed patients > out-patients > suspected patients. By the MLR model, production rates of IHCWs by confirmed, suspected and out patients were determined as 3.2, 1.8 and 0.1 kg/patient, respectively. In addition, constant production of IHCWs during the pandemic period was determined as 13 tons/d. This is the first study on quantitative evaluation of infectious HCWs during COVID-19 pandemic. The achievements in this study have potentials to shed light on global efforts to the prediction, management and disposal of vast HCWs generated in the war against COVID-19.Until nowadays, the concept of the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) has tried to develop responsible consumption habits. This model aims at extending the lifetime of the resources through their rational and efficient use to generate value repeatedly, reducing costs and waste. In this review, we examine the route followed by tires from the CE perspective, analyzing end-of-life strategies that aim to improve the circular flow of tire rubber materials. We discuss the most relevant studies on the "7Rs" concepts applied to tires, comparing different scientific approaches, as well as their industrial and commercial implementation. We also illustrate the drawbacks and feasibility of each of the R-hierarchy strategies. From the early stages of production to the post-consumption step, the path that tires trail within this CE model evidences the commitment and efforts towards the development of effective management schemes for achieving a real sustainable mobility.Informal waste picking is a common way for people to earn an income, especially in low-income countries; unfortunately, there are various occupational hazards and health outcomes associated with waste picking. This study focused on comprehensively identifying and exploring occupational hazards and health outcomes associated with informal waste picking. A systematic review of available relevant and peer-reviewed literature was completed to exhaustively analyze the full scope of these hazards and outcomes associated with informal waste picking; 58 papers were included. The results from this study provided insight and information related to the most common occupational hazards and negative health outcomes associated with informal waste pickers outlined in available literature. The most common reported occupational hazards were physical (77.6%), social (70.7%), biological (65.5%), chemical and safety (53.4%), ergonomic (34.5%) and mechanic (25.9%).
