Acute myocardial infarction (MI) and hospitalization are one of the most stressful situations for many patients. Aromatherapy is a branch of the complementary medicine that is effective in anxiety. The present study aims to determine the effect of aromatherapy with rose essential oil (REO) on apparent anxiety in patients with acute MI.

This randomized clinical trial was carried out on patients with acute MI admitted to the cardiac ward of Heshmatieh Hospital in Sabzevar. Eighty patients were randomly assigned to two aromas and placebo groups, who received three drops of REO or placebo by inhalation three times a day for 3days. Before and after the intervention, patients' anxiety levels were measured by the Spielberger questionnaire. Data were analyzed by chi-square and the independent and paired and t-tests.

Before the intervention, the mean of apparent anxiety was not significantly different in the intervention and control groups (48.44±3.81 and 51.38±7.21, respectively, p=0.16) while this parameter was significant after the intervention in both experimental groups (47.27±7.11 and 44.16±4.63, respectively, p=0.000), with a reduction in the mean of apparent anxiety in the intervention group. Moreover, the results of paired t-test revealed that the anxiety scores decreased significantly in the test group before and after the intervention (51.38±7.21 and 44.16±4.63, p=0.000).

Considering the positive effects of REO used in this study to reduce anxiety in patients with acute MI, the use of REO is recommended as a complementary treatment to reduce anxiety in these patients.

Antigen based rapid diagnostic tests possesses a potential to be utilized along with Gold standard methods to detect Covid-19 infection to cope with the demand of testing. The aim of this study was to determine diagnostic accuracy of electrochemiluminescence based automated antigen detection immunoassay comparing with molecular based test RT-PCR (Covid-19).

It was a cross-sectional study conducted in RMI Peshawar, from 1st April 2021 till 30th April 2021. The study comprised 170 individuals who were suspected of having Covid-19. Nasopharyngeal samples taken from suspected individuals were analyzed by RT-PCR and automated antigen test (Elecsys SARS-CoV-2 Antigen) simultaneously. The correlation of SARS-CoV-2 antigen with PCR positive and negative cases was analyzed for specificity, sensitivity respectively.

The ECLIA based Elecsys antigen test (Roche) revealed overall sensitivity 72%, specificity 95% and accuracy of 94.9%. Sensitivity of antigen test progressively declined from 94.3% in Ct <25 to 70.8% in Ct 26-29 and then to 47.2% in Ct 30-35.

Based on the findings of our study we conclude that automated antigen testing (Elecsys SARS-CoV-2 Antigen) cannot replace molecular based testing like RT PCR. Elecsys SARS-CoV-2 Ag test should be used complementary to RT-PCR in testing algorithms. Insomnia and sleep disorders are common and can be severe amongst patients with cancer, especially during chemotherapy. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of lettuce seed syrup in breast cancer patients who suffer from insomnia or disordered sleep.

This pilot study was a double-blinded randomized controlled clinical trial conducted in

Hospital (Tehran, Iran) from September 2018 to June 2019. 50 adult patients with breast cancer with insomnia or sleep disorders were enrolled. Participants were randomly allocated to lettuce seed syrup (5mL twice daily), or placebo syrup at the same dose for four weeks. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) was used to evaluate sleep quality before and after the intervention.

Compared to placebo, the mean of the total PSQI score decreased significantly in participants who received lettuce seed syrup (p=0.014). In addition, there were statistically significant reductions in the mean scores of subject quality sleep (p=0.002), sleep duration (p=0.038), habitual sleep efficacy (p=0.029) and sleep disturbance (p=0.032) in patients who received lettuce seed syrup.

Lettuce seed syrup may improve self-reported sleep quality in participants with breast cancer. Larger trials are indicated in diverse samples of participants with caner to learn if these finds are generalizable.

Human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell (hBMSC)-derived exosomes exhibit protective effects against inflammatory diseases. This study aimed to explore the effects of hBMSC-derived exosomes on osteoarthritis (OA)
and its related mechanisms.

In this experimental study, we characterised exosomes derived from hBMSCs by transmission electron microscopy, nanoparticle tracking and Western blot analysis. Cellular uptake of exosomes was observed by fluorescent microscopy. Cell viability of chondrocytes exposed to interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) was determined by the Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8). Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) was used to determine expression levels of genes related to apoptosis, inflammation, cartilage collagen metabolism and mitogen-activated protein kinases.

Fluorescence microscopy revealed that hBMSC-derived exosomes could be taken up by chondrocytes. hBMSC-derived exosomes could significantly enhance cell viability of chondrocytes in response to IL-1β treatment. RT-qPCR showed significant up-regulation of
and
expression levels by IL-1β treatment, while their mRNA expression levels decreased after coculture with exosomes. The anti-inflammatory gene
was markedly suppressed by
treatment; however, we observed its expression after co-culture with exosomes. Additionally, the pro-inflammatory genes
displayed significantly elevated expression levels in the IL-1β group and reduced expression levels after co-culture with exosomes.

This study aimed to characterize the circulating exosomal microRNA (miRNA) profiles associated with acute soft tissue injury.

In this experimental study, a total of 12 rats were randomly divided into control group and model group (n=6 for each group). link3 The rats in the model group were used to establish an acute soft tissue injury following the mechanical injury of the leg. The exosomes from the peripheral blood of all the rats were isolated and then characterized by Nanosight NS300 particle size analyser (NTA), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and western blot. Next, the exosomal miRNAs in the control and model groups were sequenced, and the differentially expressed miRNAs (DE-miRNAs) were identified using the DESeq algorithm. Functional analyses were performed using Gene Ontology (GO) terms and the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway databases. Finally, quantitative reverse-transcription polymersa chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was used to verify the expression of the DE-miRNAs.

TEM, NTA and western blot results showed that the exosomes were approximately 100 nm in size and exhibited cup-shaped morphology.
